Christopher Robinson's once gentle arms suddenly tensed up. He leaned down, looking at Amelia Cobb sipping water in small gulps, his tone was somewhat urgent, "She came to see you today?"
Amelia shrugged nonchalantly, "She said she came to apologize."
"For the news?" Christopher asked.
Amelia nodded, "Yes."
The tightness in Christopher's arms was noticed by Amelia, but she didn't feel too emotional about it.
The calmer Amelia was, the tighter Christopher's expression became.
Staring at Amelia, he seemed to want to see something from her expression, but this girl was too smart, like an old fox in her previous life.
She was also an expert at hiding her emotions. Christopher placed the cup in his hand on a nearby table.
With his other arm around Amelia, he pulled her closer to him.
Then, he leaned forward and captured her thin lips.
On the living room sofa, Amelia surrendered to Christopher.
