Chương 32: The Night Before Day

  Jonathan's Pov. 

  Ten years ago, my parents went to Abbalon the vampire kingdom to broker a treaty with the vampire emperor and on their way back, they were attacked by bandits. The bandits killed everyone in my father's company, all except my father. He returned to the palace that day a changed man, and since then everything in our kingdom went downhill fast. Years later the business of selling humans began, no matter how much I tried to stop it, my own father, the king stopped me from doing so. This went on for years, eventually I started to suspect that my father was being manipulated or threatened in a way by a vampire, because the father that raised me was not that evil.
