Repeated attacks failed to bring down the swarm of Demon Insects, and some had successfully reached the ancient tree, beginning to gnaw at its trunk.
Although it could now exist independently from its main body, the connection between the Azure Deer and its host was still present.
Every bite the Demon Insects took on the trunk felt as if they were biting into its own flesh, causing the Azure Deer to suffer as if it were its own pain.
It detested those insects to its core!
With a single motion, its figure merged into a blue light and fused with the ancient tree.
The ancient tree then sprang to life, its trunk glowing with green light, suddenly sprouting spikes that stabbed towards those pale golden Demon Insects.
But the outcome was nearly identical to the previous two attacks on the Demon Insects.
The mature "Mystical Armor Golden Feathers" Demon Insects didn't seem to fear the spikes much; they even managed to cling onto the spikes and gnaw at them.
