"No, I refuse," Anna shook her head firmly.
"Why? My dear child, the future belongs to us. We should stride boldly among ordinary people, not skulk in the shadows like mice in gutters. It only requires a bit of effort and endurance to bring about this change. We are the future of human race, why resist?" Eric regarded Anna with a perplexed expression, urging her to reconsider.
Resistance? Even if you resist, it's futile. You'll comply whether you want to or not.
"But even if you resist, it won't matter, because I won't let such an opportunity slip through my fingers. Take her to the machine," Eric rose from his seat, unyielding, and instructed Sabretooth.
Without hesitation, Sabretooth whisked Anna away into the depths of the Statue of Liberty, securing her within the machine under his watchful eye.
Eric ascended to the torch, fixating his gaze on the site of the United Nations summit. A spark of fervor ignited in his eyes. The goal he had pursued for decades was on the verge of realization.
The anticipation thrilled him to his core.
With all preparations in place, he awaited Charles' arrival with Wolverine.
"Trisk, will the radiation from the device cover all of New York?" Eric inquired, turning to Trisk beside him.
"Absolutely. Everything has been arranged since early morning. The United Nations summit is right within our reach. The human genomes will be transformed into mutants for the first time, spreading across New York within fifteen minutes," Trisk affirmed confidently.
"So, it's as simple as snagging Wolverine first and then holding off Charles for fifteen minutes," Eric proposed.
"Exactly," Trisk affirmed with a nod.
"I've temporarily weakened Anna's Super Ability, handing the reins over to you for now," Eric explained.
"Once we deal with these nuisances, we can proceed," Trisk agreed.
"Indeed. The X-Men are quite the annoyance. Though I trust my men, it's prudent to eliminate these bothersome X-Men first as a precaution," Eric remarked, gazing out at the misty waters.
As if on cue, a menacing magnetic storm erupted, lifting the low-altitude X fighter and slamming it to the ground.
"What in the world?" Logan emerged from the wreckage, blood trickling from his forehead, yet swiftly healing.
"Give up Eric otherwise your actions will turn New York into a haven for super-powered criminals," Charles stated, his expression conflicted, as he descended from the fighter.
"Give up? Never! This is just the beginning, Charles. You can't thwart me," Eric declared, shaking his head.
"I can and I will," Charles asserted, fixing his gaze on Eric.
"Relying on these puny little guys?" Eric chuckled, glancing at the X-Men gathered behind Charles.
"You don't stand a chance against me," Eric continued confidently, extending his hand to imprison the X-Men in a cage of copper pieces. Psylocke found herself tightly bound, while Scott was ensnared, unable to unleash his laser powers against the starry sky backdrop.
With eyes closed, Charles unleashed his formidable psychic prowess, seizing control of all the mutants aligned with Magneto.
Eric shook his head. "I won't be caught off guard again."
With swift precision, steel bindings ensnared Angel, Sabretooth, and Toad, anchoring them firmly to the foundation.
Charles found himself tightly restrained by steel pipes, his predicament clear. Eric's Ability held undeniable superiority; without removing Eric's helmet, resistance seemed futile.
A faint smile graced Eric's lips as he addressed Wolverine Logan, "Logan, it's been too long. Once again, I require your unique Ability."
With a casual gesture, Sabretooth and Wolverine were brought face to face. Eric approached Charles, his tone tinged with authority, "Charles, behold the future of our world."
"Eric, you're making a grave mistake..." Charles's protest was cut short as iron silenced his words.
Bound and silenced, Charles was propelled behind Eric, soaring toward the Statue of Liberty.
Meanwhile, the United Nations summit commenced in earnest.
Leaders from over two hundred nations convened, their attention fixed on the podium as the President of the United States delivered his address.
Unbeknownst to them, within the iconic Statue of Liberty, a device lay poised for activation—a mechanism capable of transforming any X-gene bearer present into a Mutant.
"Charles, a new era dawns. Keep watch," Eric declared, ascending the torch. Anna, confined within the device, held the key, while Wolverine and Sabretooth stood by her side.
With a nod to Trisk who also wore an helmet to protect himself from Charles. Eric clasped Anna's hand, intertwining their fates.
