Chương 29: Confrontation? Wasn't that easy?

Blank didn't beat around the bush and immediately came clean in front of Dean, lest time be wasted with this weakling in this place and weaken their guild's chance of laying their hands on the miracle card.

About the insanely powerful card Dean used to kill her fellow guild core in the adventure guild in a matter of seconds?

Blank already had a solution to such a thing since the beginning.

In fact, if she wasn't forced to contact her higher-ups about the sudden developments and inform them about the stolen card's strength and ask for further orders. Blank would have most likely just taken action in the town and killed Dean right away.

' Hm?' Blank got greatly confused with each second passed as she gazed at Dean.

The man in front of her, even though knows what's gonna happen in the next moment after he heard Kerin and Lexi's words, was only shaking his head.

Blank could even notice a faint hint of guilt visible on Dean's face.

' Is he this stupid to not realize that I'm gonna forcibly take the cards away from him and kill him or what?' Blank contemplated the situation for a moment before she decided that enough time had been wasted already and she needed to take action as soon as possible.

Other than the chance that might be wasted if she didn't kill Dean as fast as possible, Blank was worried about another matter.

Guardian Ron saw Dean and knew about this whole matter.

Guardian Ron will surely get a list of the people who passed the gate right after they pass through it, and the moment he doesn't see Dean's name on it, he will immediately send the information to the law enforcement department.

The moment such information reaches them, it won't even take them ten minutes before they reach the plaza on the other side of the gaze. At that time, Diver Blank would need to be present inside of her guild headquarters, or else the consequences would be so dire for her.

' Knowing that Ron somehow has full information about Dean and even dared to threaten me earlier, means that he surely sent word to the law enforcement department. I can't waste any time here, or else I might really get caught before I reach a safe spot.'

Alas, and even though Blank only took a few moments to take this decision and think about this whole operation out, Dean already beat her into it and took action.

" One!"

Crash!

The very second Dean uttered the word, a heavy pain beyond anything Blank had ever experienced in her whole life assaulted her heart.

The pain was so severe that she instantly dropped to the ground, her knees barely keeping up with her heavy weight since she barely had any force or mind to control her body.

She became so fragile and weak that Blank even felt that even a random diver could take her on without any trouble.

"Poison?" Blank thought, her mind was so deeply in chaos and terror that she failed to control her emotions and let those thoughts out.

" No, it cant b..."

Before she could even finish her second sentence and take a deep breath after the pain slightly calmed down, another burst of intense pressure assaulted her heart again, threatening to crash it.

" I'm sad," Dean muttered in a low voice as he focused his eyes on the kneeling white-robed woman in front of him holding her chest with both hands.

" I'm very sad," Dean uttered again as he took a step closer to Blank.

He didn't speak any further as he took off her white robe, allowing him to finally take a look at the person who was forcing him to do such horrible things.

Blank slowly looked up.

Only, what she saw was but an empty pere of sockets that were as lifeless as a dead body.

However, that's only what she had seen in the first moment, as every time she looked closely, she could faintly detect great pain hidden behind those pere of lifeless eyes.

" Gone," Dean said in deep pain as he gazed at the fairly beautiful young woman's face looking back at him.

Even though her outer appearance was so angelic, her soul was the very opposite of that.

Demonic and filled with evil.

" Don..." Before Blank could even finish her words and warn him about the actions he was about to take, Dean had already spoken again.

Bam!

Blank's knees failed to keep her lifeless body up as it immediately fell to the ground generating a loud sound.

" So they just spoke those words in front of me and still left without trying to help me out. Are they that afraid of Blank and the people behind her? Or did they just not care?" Dean thought as he gazed at the snake he just summoned with a look of impatience.

" Don't look at me that way, I'm not your guide neither am I a god to know everything occurring inside of this world, I will only answer things related to cards or diverse items and such." The snake visible only to Dean smirked as it looked at him, a hint of joy could be detected in his tone.

Dean didn't mind the snake's rude behavior as he was already used to it.

The question in the first place was never meant for him.

Dean was just contemplating this world with himself, trying to understand what was wrong with humanity in this place.

About the actions he just took?

Dean decided to think about this later on.

He first needed to understand a few things.

His life was worth way more than his feelings at this moment.

" Tell me how to extract the cards divers have on them, I still don't see any even after she died," Dean asked as he passed his hands on every fiber of Blank's body and clothes, trying to locate the cards she supposedly dropped.

" Even though I'm unwilling to help you out, I have no choice in the matter," The snake spoke in dissatisfaction and then continued," Just say chaos and the cards shall appear in front of you."

Dean ignored this rotten-hearted snake and just said the word," Chaos."

The moment Dean uttered the word ' Chaos', a blinding light covered everything around Blank's body in an area that spread over a few meters. And only after three seconds did the light subdue and Dean could finally open his eyes again.

" That was dangerous." Dean heaved a sigh of relief when he chose to not risk looking into the light.

Every moment that passed while he was bathed in that light, Dean felt like his eyes were about to be roasted in a heartbeat.

' He didn't even warn me,' Dean thought as he took a look at the snake hovering next to him, only to notice him visibly disappointed.

" You kept your eyes on you, that's a surprise!" The snake shook his head in annoyance.

' Bastard, I should have expected that much from this part of the book. I'll remember to never fully trust this snake's words from now on.' Dean then shifted his gaze to the cards hovering in front of him.
