Lily
I flipped through the newest movies and shows on Netflix, but nothing caught my attention. Probably because I’d spent the last ten minutes trying to rummage up any jealousy over Mark finding a replacement for me so quickly.
But I couldn’t.
The only thing I considered incessantly was Jerome. Mark and his new relationship didn’t upset me when I’d fantasized about dating Jerome for days now. Ever sense he’d parked his little sports car in front of my shop and I had to haul one of his construction crew guys from my shop. I should have hated the man. He ruined the whole quaint feel I had going on at the store, but I didn’t stop wondering if he had abs.
Did that make me a hussy?
See, I had bigger problems than my ex’s dating life.
My window shook. I glanced in that direction but couldn’t see anything from the second floor. The glass rattled again, and I turned off the television to silence the noise from the different shows’ trailers.
A ping came directly before another rattle.
