Chapter 53. How to remove amnesia
Sabo woke up as he choked on the sea water that had been splashed on him.
*Cough cough*
"Captain, aren't you a bit to cruel?"
Sabo heard these words as he regained his consciousness.
"Yes, to do this to your own brother, no wonder you treated us so... kindly." Another voice said.
"CHAHAHAHA WELL DONE CAPTAIN!" A thunderous voice laughed out.
"Sigh, poor soul, to be brothers with someone like you captain." A voice of pity said.
"Where Apoo?" Another one asked.
"Hey Hey Cavendish, where are you going, don't you wanna see this event play out?"
"Tsk, what's more beautiful than my own face, of course I'm finding a mirror so my eyes can be blessed." Another voice responded.
Sabo couldn't make out what's going on precisely, but he did understand that a crew of some sort were discussing the "brother" of their captain. And somehow, this captain came off as someone crazy.
After spitting out the sea water in his mouth, Sabo rubbed his eyes as he stood up, looking around, he saw that he was on a black ship... Surrounded by what seemed to be the Demon Ace Pirates.
That's when he remembered Flame Emperor Ace and their battle before he lost consciousness.
"Sabo, are you still not going to remember?" Ace asked as he stood behind Sabo.
Sabo turned around as he heard Ace's words, and somehow he got a very bad feeling.
"How do you know my name?" Sabo asked instinctively. Although he was cautious and vigilant, he was still hoping that Ace knew him from before he got his amnesia.
"Sigh, I didn't want to do this." Ace said as he nodded at Yennow, who stood beside Sabo with a barrel of sea water, which he threw at Sabo.
Sabo still being confused got splashed by all the sea water.
At that point Ace nodded towards JoJo Pojo whose smile grew.
*TZZZZZ TZZZ TZZZZZ*
Next thing the crew saw was Sabo being electrocuted, and because of the seawater, he got lit up like a bright light.
"Captain, to do this to your own brother, are you really a demon?" Nami couldn't help but to ask. She genuinely felt bad. Sabo even looked like a good natured gentleman.
"No, real brotherhood is all about pushing eachother to the limit, just like this!" Urouge said with a thumbs up.
"Hey Hey, what's the burnt smell, is someone cooking dinner?" Apoo came out of the sleeping chambers and asked, as soon as he saw someone being electrocuted, he turned around and went back in.
Sabo fell unconscious again, but just before he did that, he saw the evil smile of Ace as he looked him straight in the eyes as Sabo got electrocuted.
"What a terrifying demon." Sabo thought as he lost consciousness again.
"Another bucket." Ace said and Yennow hurriedly followed command.
Ace did this a few times, it seemed like Sabo had even regained his memories sometime when he woke up, but before he could even say anything, he got splashed by seawater and JoJo Pojo sent a few sparks.
The crew started to feel genuinely bad so they left the scene. They couldn't understand what their captain's brother had done to get this punishment.
Soon the crew stopped hearing the shouts of pain from Sabo so they went out to see what was about to happen.
Ace walked forward to the burnt Sabo and bent down while lovingly caressing Sabo's hair.
"This is the punishment of forgetting your own brother, do you even know how worried I was?" Ace said with brotherly love.
Everyone just stared at the burnt, half dead Sabo and winced.
"Sigh, you won't even greet me properly. Tsk Tsk, JoJo, again!" Ace said.
At this time even JoJo felt horrible.
"CAPTAIN, No I think that should be enough, he has probably learnt his lesson! Haha!" Nami tried saving Sabo as she hurried forwards to stand between them..
The other crewmates also followed suit, in worry about Sabo.
"Yeah, captain, look at him, he looks like a burnt kebab!"
"Captain, if you really want to punish him let him heal so you can continue doing this later!" Spikewards said, not realising how horrifying his words were.
The crew flared at Spikewards and he stepped back in regret.
"Hmm not a bad idea " Ace said as he thought about it.
"Alas, I'm to kindhearted to do something like that, lets spare him for now." Ace said.
'You're definitely not too kindhearted to do something like that' His crewmates thought in disagreement.
It took a while for Sabo to wake up, and his whole body ached as he had been electrocuted. Yet he didn't care about that as he started weeping like a child.
Yennow was arguing the room that Sabo had been put in and hastily reported to Ace that Sabo had awoken.
Sabo just wept as he remembered his past.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
Sabo didn't even notice the knocking on the door, so Ace just stepped inside.
Seing Sabo crying like that, all his anger dissipated and what was left was the care and worry in his heart for his brothers.
Sabo just felt a hand ruffle his hair.
Before Ace had arrived in Dressrosa, he had felt like a part of him was moving far away in the horizon, at that time he didn't know what was happening but as he touched Sabo's head he understood.
When they were young, Ace speculated that the real Mera Mera No Mi fruit might still be out there, so he drew a treasure map for Sabo and told him that if he's fated, he might find something great at that maps location.
And it seemed like Sabo went after that treasure and found the Mera Mera No Mi fruit and ate it. And that what Ace felt. Both of them are made of flames, that's why Ace felt Sabo from a distance and he understood it now.
"AAACEEEEEEEEE" Sabo louder as he saw that Ace had arrived informt of him.
*SMACK*
"Why did you become a crybaby and so weak?" Ace angrily said a she smacked him.
Sabo rubbed his head where Ace smacked him and angrily stood up.
"I'm not weak, I just wasn't ready for you!" He tried defending.
"AND THAT'S PRECISELY HOW YOU DIE IN BATTLE! Dumbass." Ace shouted back
"LETS GO BASTARD ,LET ME SHOW YOU GOW STORNG IVE BECOME THESE LAST YEARS!!!" Sabosntood up as his turned sharp, ready to fight it out with his forgotten brother.
But to his surprise, Ace hugged him closely.
To Ace, both Luffy and Sabo were his real brothers. And the two people he loved the most.
Well.. Hancock might just replace them soon.
The Demon Ace Pirates had all gathered outside the room and spectated the whole ordeal and they saw a new side to their captain.
Although Ace was slightly harsh, demonic, evil, spiteful, arrogant, crude, cruel, tyrannical, crazy, self centered, cold-hearted, inhumane, unsympathetic, brutal, rough, savage, wicked, villainous, fiendish, vicious, crooked, shady, despicable, diabolic, vicious and overall catastrophic, he showed a side of him they rarely saw.
Every now and then Ace would do something that would make his crew believe in humanity.
Nami was unaware that she was smiling while being teary eyed.
Spikewards rough face had tears going down his cheeks and beside him was Urouge that was smiling at the brotherly bond.
"Hey, let's leave captain and his brother to catch up" Gaga whispered as she pushed everyone away.
"So what happened with you? Everyone believed you died." Ace asked after a while.
Sabo picked dup his hat from the ground and smiled with nostalgia as he remembered everything.
"After that day... I decided to set sail, but my ship was sunk by a Celestial Dragon." Sabo explained his story to his brother, laughing at times and at times looking angry.
Ace mirrored his joy and mirrored his anger.
Any enemy of his brother, is his enemy.
