"You might be wondering why it took me 5 years to complete the first floor."
"I want to explain that there are many individuals who needed 7 years to clear their first floor."
"If someone fails to clear the floor within 7 years, they lose their qualification as a tower runner!"
Jenny informed the class.
"But there's another important aspect to consider."
"After spending 2 years on a floor, a tower runner can only achieve a maximum B grade for the following year, and this grade decreases progressively until the 6th year, when a tower runner can only attain a maximum E grade."
"It's believed that a tower runner can potentially secure an S grade only in the first year of tackling a floor, as subsequent years limit the maximum grade one can achieve."
"After the 4th year, acquiring items from Pokémon marts or discovering them in the wild becomes impossible. NPCs will also no longer provide free items, as some did previously."
She then delved into the reasons behind the time it takes to clear the first floor. She explained that to succeed in clearing this floor, an individual must have accomplished 7 missions with a C grade and 5 missions with a D grade. One of the most challenging requirements is achieving a position in the top 16 of the Pokémon league.
"I managed to fulfill the first criterion within 2 years, but it took me an additional 3 years to finally meet the second criterion," Jenny sighed.
"Teacher, why did it take you 3 years to place within the top 16 of the Pokémon league?" Rebecca inquired.
"It's not as straightforward as it might appear. Each time you fail to fulfill the second criterion, when you attempt it again, you'll discover that the trainers participating in the league have become stronger compared to the previous attempts. Their Pokémon are also different."
"So, for anyone who possesses an extra tower pass, it's advisable to utilize it for exploration and significantly raising your Pokémon's levels. During the missions, it becomes incredibly challenging to concentrate solely on leveling up," Jenny stated while casting a glance at both Rebecca and Xavier.
The other students directed envious looks at the two of them, while Alex appeared downcast and gazed at the ground.
"Teacher, what about the second floor?" inquired Jeremy, one of the students.
"In regard to that, we'll address it at a later time. For now, our primary focus should remain on the first floor," Jenny replied with a smile.
"Let's delve into missions first. By this point, you should be aware that missions are randomized. There's only a slim chance that the same missions will be assigned."
She proceeded to share details about her initial mission and how she tackled it. Jenny spoke of her discoveries and experiences during the times when she had no funds and had to sleep on the streets.
"Excuse me, Miss," Lena's voice cut through the classroom's quiet, attracting the attention of all present.
Curious gazes turned toward her as Jenny, the instructor, acknowledged her question. "What does it take to participate in the Pokémon League?" Lena asked, her curiosity palpable.
"To enter the Pokémon League, you must first gather all eight Gym badges," Jenny replied with a matter-of-fact tone. "However, don't assume it's a simple task to defeat Gym leaders. They possess formidable strength and employ intricate battle strategies."
The class's interest was piqued, and Jeremy seized the opportunity to ask, "If one manages to defeat a Gym leader, what kind of rewards can they expect?"
"In exchange for victory, a Gym badge and some pokecoins are typically awarded," Jenny explained.
Yet, Xavier's curiosity lingered, prompting him to seek further information. "Miss, is there a possibility of receiving additional rewards from Gym leaders? Perhaps Technical Machines or other valuable items?"
Jenny's response was straightforward. "No, there haven't been any reported cases of such rewards."
Xavier's mind buzzed with intrigue. This proclamation contradicted his own experience. He recalled his encounter with Brock, where he had been awarded not only a Gym badge but also a TM:Bide.
The apparent inconsistency in rewards left Xavier pondering, but for the moment, he chose to suppress his thoughts.
The class continued for another hour, and eventually, all of them dispersed, making their way back to their rooms. They each carried a small book containing information about the Pokémon present on the first floor and their evolutions.
The book also highlighted the typical habitats of these Pokémon.
Xavier noticed that some Pokémon with special evolution methods were omitted from the list. This suggested that those methods of evolution had yet to be uncovered. He also observed that the evolution of Mankey into Primeape was detailed, but he knew that Primeape could further evolve into Annihilape.
