On the last day, Xavier went directly to Route 24 and began his search for Abra. After half an hour of relentless scanning, he finally spotted the elusive Pokémon. Filled with excitement and hope, he rushed towards Abra, but his eagerness frightened it, and Abra quickly teleported away.
Feeling frustrated with himself for his impatience, Xavier took a deep breath and resumed his quest to find Abra.
Filled with a mix of astonishment and relief, Xavier couldn't believe his eyes as he spotted Abra once again, after only two hours of searching. For the past three days, Abra had eluded him, but now fate seemed to smile upon him, granting him a second chance.
Learning from his previous mistake, Xavier resisted the urge to rush towards Abra this time. Instead, he called upon his trusted Pokémon companions, Nidorino and Mankey, to help him devise a strategy to corner the elusive Psychic-type Pokémon.
With a determined expression, Xavier directed Nidorino to use Leer, causing Abra's defense to lower as the Pokémon became momentarily stunned. Seizing the opportunity, Mankey moved into position to strike with his powerful Night Slash attack. However, before Mankey's attack could connect, Abra vanished in a blur of teleportation , leaving Xavier disappointed and disheartened.
Xavier called back both of his Pokémon and resumed his search for Abra. For five more hours, he scoured the area diligently, but alas, Abra remained elusive, refusing to reveal itself.
As the sun began its descent in the evening sky, Xavier felt a sense of urgency. He knew that once night fell, the chances of encountering Abra would diminish greatly. Abra had proven to be a daytime Pokémon, and finding it in the darkness seemed like an impossible feat.
With each passing minute, Xavier's hope dwindled. He realized that time was running out, and the window of opportunity to capture Abra was closing fast. Feeling a mix of frustration and disappointment, he knew that he might have to accept defeat for now.
As Xavier made his way towards the bridge connecting to Cerulean City, he spotted a berry tree underneath it. Surprisingly, he had never noticed it before despite passing by the bridge multiple times.
Perched on the berry tree was a Pidgey, happily munching on the berries. Some of the berries fell to the ground due to Pidgey's enthusiastic feeding.
But what caught Xavier's attention even more was the sight of an Abra sitting under the tree, also feasting on Oran berries. Some berries dropped on its head, but Abra seemed unperturbed, enjoying its meal peacefully.
A sudden idea struck Xavier's mind, and though unsure if it would work, he decided to give it a shot. Taking out an empty pokeball, he carefully aimed and dropped it straight at Abra.
To his surprise, the pokeball hit Abra on the head and swiftly pulled the Psychic-type Pokémon inside. Xavier watched with a mix of excitement and worry as the pokeball kept moving, indicating that the capture was in progress.
The seconds felt like eternity, but after a brief moment, the pokeball made a reassuring 'ding' sound, signaling a successful capture. Xavier couldn't contain his joy and relief at finally catching Abra, a Pokémon he had been seeking diligently for days.
Xavier was shocked and excited, all at once. Catching Abra in such an unexpected way was beyond anything he had imagined.
The memories of the past few days flooded his mind—the countless hours he spent searching for Abra, the disappointment of not finding it, and the determination to keep trying. But all of that was now overshadowed by the fact that he had successfully captured the Pokémon.
As Xavier made his way down the bridge, he noticed a small piece of land where the Oran Berry Tree stood. He carefully retrieved the pokeball that contained Abra and also gathered five Oran Berries that had fallen from the tree.
Feeling a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction, Xavier continued his journey towards the city.
