Chương 387: Regrouping
(Third Person POV)
On the Nemesis, inside the main briefing room, Mavis ran up to where Lucy and the others had appeared out of thin air.
"You guys!" She exclaimed, "Are you okay?"
Lucy looked around, "W-We're back here?" She said, "How..?"
Mavis reached them and widened her eyes when she saw Natsu's unconscious body, covered in blood.
"Oh no, Natsu!" She said
Wendy crouched down next to Natsu as she had her hands over him, activating her healing magic on him.
"Master, I'm trying to heal him..." She said while
"Natsu..." Happy said as she stood next to Wendy
Wendy was using her magic to try to heal Natsu. Nobody knows what happened with Zeref and Natsu inside the spatial domain. Zeref had appeared out of nowhere and revealed he had defeated the dragon slayer.
Mavis looked at Lucy, "What happened, Lucy?" She asked, "Where's Jason?"
Lucy looked at her, "I...." She said, "I don't know....Jason must've stayed there. Zeref was right in front of us....He was going to attack..."
Juvia and Cana walked up to them.
"Lucy-san!" Juvia exclaimed, "Are you alright?"
"The Warmind said that the army breached the Western Front." Cana said, "Is that true?"
Lucy nodded, "Yea." She said, "But Jason tried his best to cripple them as much as he could. He did some serious damage."
Suddenly, a bright light shone where they were and Jason appeared out of thin air.
"Okay..." He said with a serious frown, "Where's Erion?"
Lucy smiled, "Jason..." She said with a relieved tone
Mavis ran up to him, "Jason!" She said as she hugged him, "You're okay!"
Jason looked at her with a surprised face, "Uh....." He said, "Yea..."
All eyes were on them with a bit of surprise as well. They didn't expect Mavis out of all people to hug Jason. Everyone but Natsu, obviously. Considering Jason's reputation, they kinda put two and two together and assumed the rest.
Lucy began to blush slightly, "Uhm..." she said clearing her throat, "Jason, what happened?"
Mavis widened her eyes and stepped back, "Oh. Uh, Yea." She said, "Sorry. But yes, tell us what happened."
Jason shrugged, "Not much." He said, "Zeref retreated. He said he was going to regroup his army to fully mobilize. I did some serious damage, and thinned them out a bit. Felicity, status on the other armies."
"Sir." Felicity's voice could be heard, "The Army outside Hargeon has fully set and taken over the town, they disabled the anti-air turrets from the inside with the help of another army and have moved their Air Fleet past the town and towards Inland. They're currently settling down several hundred miles from Hargeon."
On a massive screen, the map of Hargeon, a port town, was displayed. It showed red rectangles, representing the enemy forces in the town. There were also red rectangles further inland, representing the other army that had further advanced.
"Damn." Jason said
"Erza's group was on their way to Hargeon." Mavis told Jason, "They were going to be assisted by Crime Sorciere."
"I see." He said, "What of the East and Northern borders?"
"The Northern Border is holding out well." Felicity said, "The armies there are stalled by the terrain and the defenses deployed there. As for the Eastern border, The fleets that flanked all the way around had managed to breach through albeit just barely. The Magic Council have decided to intercept them."
"I see..." Jason said, "Then there's the Western forces that have fully breached in just now.....What of the Shields?"
"There's word of a Shield in Hargeon." Mavis stated, "I told Erza and Laxus to be on the lookout."
"Probability of 2 Shields at Hargeon is more than likely." Felicity said, "The Northern forces might have one or two as well. As for the Eastern forces, I have detected 2 powerful magic signatures which implies that there's two as well."
"I see..." Jason said, "Okay then. There's 10 active Shields at the moment. Irene should be out of commission..."
Mavis looked at him, "Irene is...." She started
Jason nodded, without looking at her, "Erion's mother." He said seriously, "We're fortunate she's not awake. And let's hope she doesn't wake up, she'll be a major problem."
Mavis looked down, "I see..."
Jason turned to see Natsu unconscious on the floor as Wendy attempted to heal him.
"Take him to the infirmary, Wendy." Jason said, "There's medical equipment there that could help him. And Happy...."
Happy looked up at Jason who walked up to him, "Yes?"
Jason crouched down and gave him a serious stare, "Do not tell a word to anyone here." He said seriously, "About what he told you about Natsu, got that?"
Happy gulped, "O-Okay...."
Jason then stood up, "Good."
Lucy walked up to him, "What are you talking about, Jason?" She asked, "Not tell us what?"
Jason looked at her, she was wearing her usual clothes and noticed that Sagittarius wasn't there. He deduced she had run out of magic power and he was sent back.
"Don't worry about it." Jason said simply, "Get some rest, you're drained."
He then looked down at Wendy who was looking up at him. He gave her a silent nod, signaling her to take Natsu out of there.
Wendy slowly picked Natsu up as Happy and Carla helped her out, "I'll take Natsu to the infirmary then.." She said
Everyone watched this without saying a word, the majority of the minor members of Fairy Tail were present, with the exception of Warren and the Thunder God Tribe alongside a couple more. They had decided to stay with Mavis here on the Nemesis in the middle of the air, miles away from Magnolia.
Jason took a step before Lucy grabbed him by the hand.
"Hey." Lucy said seriously, "I'm serious, Jason. Tell us what."
Jason looked at her, "What?"
Lucy was frowning, "There are things you're not telling us..." She said, "We deserve to know. What did Zeref tell Natsu?"
Jason stared at her for a few moments before speaking. He was trying to decide whether or not it was appropriate to tell them the truth, even if they'd believe it or not.
"Is there something we should know, Jason?" Mavis asked
Jason shook his head, "No." He said simply
"You're lying!" Lucy exclaimed, "You're hiding things from us! We...Jason, tell us, please. We can't be left in the dark here. And it's not just that, there are other things you don't wanna talk about. Like how Erion resembles Erza and other things. There's also that strange thing you told me after we defeated the Shield."
Mavis widened her eyes with surprise, "You defeated a Shield?!" she asked
Jason nodded, "Yea." He said, "I said there's 10 active Shields. Irene was out before this started and we just took another one down."
"Oh..." Mavis said
Cana whistled, "Damn, boy." She said
Lucy shook her head, "Never mind that." She said, "Jason, we can't fight together if we don't trust each other, okay? Do you not trust us to tell us what you're hiding?"
Jason sighed, "Not now, Lucy." He said
"Then when?" Lucy asked with a scowl, "I'm serious."
There was a brief moment of silence, filled with tension. Everyone could tell that Lucy was serious, Jason included. He knew that there were a lot of things in her mind right now, feeling many emotions at once.
He merely looked at Lucy seriously, not saying a word.
Mavis walked up to Jason, "I suggest we calm down...." She said, "Jason..."
"Hm." Jason said turning around and walking around, "I'll keep it to myself."
Lucy looked as Jason walked away, there was a somewhat hurt expression on her face. She didn't know what to feel about this.
As Jason walked and made his way towards where Erion was, hopefully sleeping, he could feel the effects of his battle hit him.
His entire body felt sore, hurting all over.
"Shit..." He said rubbing his shoulder, "My body is all sore..."
The Screen then appeared in front of him, showing static as it flashed repeatedly.
"ATTENTION: WARNING: ATTENTION!!!!"
Jason stopped in his tracks, "Whoa." He said, "What's the issue?"
"V&$D P@#S*& BR-CHE-D.....!!!!"
Jason raised his eyebrows, realizing something was wrong. He saw that the screen was not only showing static, but several random characters. It was as if it were malfunctioning, it was strange, Jason was not used to this.
"Oi." Jason said, "What the fuck is wrong with you?"
