Chương 361: Escape
(Third Person POV)
As Jason was in midair, attempting to stay afloat, he looked down to see Irene lying down on her back.
Irene was unconscious, the spell she had cast to relocate Acnologia had taken a serious toll on her body.
August noticed this and looked down, "It's quite unsettling.." He said, "Seeing the one they refer to as my equal in that condition..."
Jason slowly looked at August, "You...." He managed, "How'd you get here so fast?"
"Well..." August said, "When you hear the word of two dragons wreaking havoc...you would feel curious to see what's it about...And Teleportation magic is quite handy..."
Jason then swiped his hand at August, using his Sage God Slayer magic to cast an explosion.
The Explosion hit August and engulfed him, causing another shockwave.
As the smoke cleared, Jason saw that August had deployed a barrier.
"Hm..." He said, "Quite an interesting magic....similar to Irene's enchantments...."
Jason then tried to lunge at August but the Magic King pointed his staff at him as it glowed brightly.
Jason was then hit with what seemed like Rupture Magic, his entire body jerked backward as bright green explosions erupted from all parts of it.
"Shit!!" He exclaimed
"I aimed to bring you down with that initial attack off-guard..." August said, "You're quite resilient..."
As Jason was being sent back by multiple Rupture Explosions, he hit what he assumed was a barrier that was deployed in the air.
"What?" He said
He was then surrounded by a massive cubed barrier that glowed red. He felt his entire body burn as he touched the barrier. As his body sizzled, he was hit by more rupture explosions that rattled his already battered body.
"Tch..!" He said as his entire body was sweating, "What the hell is this?"
"Quite the barrier spell I developed..." August said, "The first layer is enhanced by heat magic that will burn your body. And you're already under my high-level Rupture spell. And with the second layer...."
Jason then saw a massive diamond-shaped barrier deployed around the cube, this one was light blue.
Suddenly, he was hit with an unusual pressure that forced him to the center of the cube. He then clutched his throat as he was unable to breathe.
"I....aghh...!!!" Jason cried as his face turned purple
"Asphyxiation." August said, "You cannot breathe...."
Jason's entire body began to jerk around as he attempted to breathe, being hit by several rupture explosions as the heat of the cube barrier burned him.
He was unable to do much, losing his focus as every fiber of his body was in nothing but aggravating pain.
"And for the final barrier..." August said as his staff glowed purple
Suddenly, a massive purple spherical barrier deployed around the first two, dwarfing both of them.
As it activated, Jason, aside from the pain of the effects, felt his magic power being suppressed.
"A Magic Negator Barrier." August said, "Let's see how long you last like this. Once I render you unconscious, I'll throw you in our dungeons and keep you prisoner...."
Jason looked down as he was suffering these effects, his eyes barely staying open.
'Shit...' He thought to himself, 'E-Erion...!!'
All his mind was focusing now that Acnologia was gone, was his son, Erion. He looked down to where he was. Erion was still lying on his back, seemingly unconscious as his chest was ripped open.
A tear then rolled down Jason's cheek, seeing his son in that state. He couldn't imagine what kind of pain he suffered when hit by that attack.
August looked down to see Irene was being carried by Heine.
"You, Irene's subordinate." He called over
Heine looked up with surprise, "Y-Yes...?"
"Take Irene to her ship." August said, "I shall take control of her army, you and your men will answer to me. Until she regains consciousness that is. Now, hurry, we have to fully mobilize. Make haste, young one!"
Heine nodded as she had Irene unconscious on her back, "Y-Yessir!" She said as she disappeared
"Now." August shifted his gaze to Erion, "As for this one..."
As soon as he said this, Erion's eyes shot open, flashing a dark blue light.
"Oh?" August said, "He's awake?"
Jason widened his eyes as he saw Erion getting up, his chest slowly closing as he was shaking his head.
"Regeneration...." August said, "His wounds are healing....and quite fast at that..."
As he said that, Erion's chest was completely healed as the newborn dragon looked up, making eye contact with the Magic King.
August narrowed his eyes, seeing nothing but pure bloodlust in the dragon's eyes.
"This one is dangerous..." He said
Suddenly, Erion's body began to vibrate as he let out a low grumble, without breaking eye-contact with August.
The Magic King then noticed a massive amount of magic power being released as the dragon grumbled.
Erion then extended his wings outwards, letting out a massive and loud roar. The force of the roar caused a shockwave that sent everything around him flying. Even August was hit by the shockwave, but was rather unfazed.
Jason saw this, still being affected by August's barriers. He was clutching his throat as he attempted to breathe still.
'N-No!' He thought to himself, 'Erion don't!'
Erion then gathered black light in his mouth, taking aim at August.
"Oh?" August said, "A Breath-"
Without warning, Erion fired his breath attack, a massive beam of black light shot straight at August.
The Magic King, however, deployed multiple high-level barriers to protect himself. The beam of black light engulfed him and broke through the majority of the barriers but was unable to directly hurt him.
"Quite the scary attack...." August said, "Do you intend to fight me, young one?"
Erion then stomped his arms and feet on the ground as he let out several snorts, glaring at August.
Jason clenched his fists as he forced his magic power outwards.
"E-Er..." Jason managed to speak, "E-ERION"
August turned to see his barriers being shattered as Jason was releasing a serious amount of magic power, his Black God Slayer Magic activated. A massive aura of black light was causing the barriers to be destroyed.
Erion heard his father's voice and immediately looked up at Jason who destroyed the barriers, just barely.
August pointed his staff at Jason, "Interesting...."
Suddenly, Jason was pierced by a beam of light through his midsection. Erion saw this and widened his eyes. He then let out a roar as he flapped his wings, taking off into flight.
Jason raised his arm, "ERION!!!!"
Erion froze in midair, just a couple of meters off the ground. Despite being just born not long ago, his dragon mind was intelligent enough to recognize the voice of his father and his own name, surprisingly.
He looked at Jason who looked at him with his face bloodied up.
"RUN!!!!" Jason yelled, "GET OUT OF HERE!!! NOW!!!!!"
The loud commands that Erion heard, shouted at him by his father, he immediately recognized them. In an instant, his entire demeanor changed from a rampaging beast to that of a young child being ordered by his parent.
Erion then turned around and immediately took off, flying away with tremendous speed.
August looked at this, "As If I'll let it get away..." He said pointing his staff at the dragon
Jason then appeared in front of him as he grabbed his staff.
"Fuck off..." Jason growled as he glared at him
He opened his mouth as black light gathered on it.
"Oh no." August said
"Black God's Bellow!!!"
Jason fired a point-blank breath attack at August, engulfing his entire body in a beam of black light.
In an instant, August had teleported himself away from the attack and appearing next to Jason, swinging his staff at him.
Jason was struck with a massive spark of light and felt his entire body being sucked into a single point.
"Shit!!!" He said
"A little spatial spell of mine." August said, "Let's see if you can get out of this one."
Jason was then fully warped to the point as he disappeared completely.
August then sighed, "Oh my..." He said, "If that attack actually connected, which almost did, I would've been in trouble..."
He then looked towards the direction Erion had flown away. He saw that he was nowhere in sight, meaning Erion's flying speed was more than he anticipated.
Erion had successfully escaped.
"Hm...." He said, "What a rocky start to the war....."
"We haven't even invaded yet..."
