Outside, the autumn wind carried a drizzle that fell ever so silently.
Jiang Yi left the dessert shop, the burning sensation in her stomach intensifying a bit.
She knew her drunkenness was creeping back, and if she continued to stay in the dessert shop, she would definitely make a fool of herself, so even though the world seemed to spin before her eyes, she forced herself to step outside.
The light rain tingled against her cheeks, chilly and oddly itchy.
Yet as she trudged on, she found herself squatting down by the roadside, unable to walk any further.
The rush of passing cars drowned out her suppressed sobs, and she began to feel a little sad.

Wen Suihan had drunk a little at a business engagement, not driving himself, he asked his assistant Yuan Ye to drive him home.
When Yuan Ye drove onto Fuxing Road, a light rain began to fall, pitter-pattering against the windshield.
With the occasional faint sound of the windshield wipers, Yuan Ye updated Wen Suihan on the progress of the latest project.
Seated in the back, Wen Suihan leaned back, resting with his eyes closed.
His pure black tailored suit hadn't creased from the day's hustle and bustle, remaining smooth and properly fitted.
He listened in silence, without opening his eyes, as if everything was going according to his plans.
In the middle of the update, something else came to Yuan Ye's mind, and with a laugh, he changed the subject, "Oh right, Director Wen, President Qian mentioned someone at Zhongtan Entertainment he knows, asking if we could look out for them a bit."
"That little star with the surname Yu?" Wen Suihan opened his eyes.
"Yes, the same one who approached you to add your WeChat at the charity gala."
Wen Suihan's gaze was inscrutable, and he did not respond.
Yuan Ye continued, "I think President Qian's intentions are quite clear, looking after Miss Yu is just a pretense, he's likely trying to push someone into your bed."
Yuan Ye thought his joke quite funny, but unexpectedly met Wen Suihan's piercing eyes in the rearview mirror.
He instantly fell silent.
A moment later, Wen Suihan said, "Find an excuse to send her back, and while you're at it, give him a warning."
Yuan Ye chuckled, "That won't be easy, with President Qian's stubborn personality. If you send her back, he might think this little star isn't your type, and who knows what he might send your way next time."
Wen Suihan was not fond of dealing with someone as blunt as President Qian. After all, some matters, once they are laid out in the open, might not look too good.
However, in the end, Wen Suihan didn't say much more on the topic.
As the car became quiet, he began to ponder seriously the words Yuan Ye had just spoken, which was, what type did he actually like?
Wen Suihan had never thought about this question before. The problems accumulated by the Wen Family over the years had almost crushed him; he had no time to worry about anything else. And yet, he was already 28 this year and had never seriously considered his marriage plans, even though his parents were almost frantic with urgency.
Various women he had met at work began to parade through Wen Suihan's mind.
There were subordinates, clients, celebrities, and supermodels, but regardless of whose face surfaced in his mind, it seemed none could stir his interest or desire.
Until he turned his head and glimpsed out the window involuntarily.
In the pitch dark of the night, a figure flashed by the roadside so quickly that he barely had time to see who it was.
Yet, it was precisely such a shadow, huddled under the street lamp, that unexpectedly overlapped with a scene in his memory.
He instructed Yuan Ye to stop the car ahead.
