Chương 127: Chapter 127 : Alliance

Lord Gen descended gracefully into the clear light, emanating a murderous aura that caused all onlookers to tremble uncontrollably.

Even the ninja from the one of Five Great Shinobi Villages, Jonin and Chunin of the Sand Village were instantly obliterated by him, overwhelmed by his overwhelming power. This sent fear rippling through the samurai from the smaller nations.

"You... you devil! Come on, give me...!"

Trembling, Takumi, who had been thrown to the ground due to Takahiro's explosion, cried out for help.

"Silence!"

Perhaps due to the aggressive attack moments ago, Lord Gen appeared to be in a foul mood. He swiftly hurled a wind blade, swiftly ending Takumi's life.

Ryosuke Yamanaka was about to inquire if he should control the king to clean up the mess, but before he could enact his mind-controlling technique, Takumi's blood had already splattered before him, leaving him helpless.

"Now that we've taken action and exposed our identities, let's resolve this quickly, before the Sand Shinobi arrive!"

Lord Gen once more surged with his wind attribute chakra, sending countless small yet sharp wind blades in all directions.

"Wind Release: Infinite Gale!"

The King was killed, and chaos reigned amongst the soldiers. The soldiers faced an invincible enemy, leaving them in sheer terror. How could ordinary individuals battle against a Kage-level powerhouse?

Hundreds of soldiers abandoned their helmets and armour, fleeing in tears for their lives. The Anbu members had no time to address them. Their objective was the Gelel veins.

"You outsiders! You won't escape death!"

Rudolph, embarrassed by the explosion, rose unsteadily, brandishing a sword and glaring at the invaders. However, Lord Gen was no longer interested in engaging in a sword fight with him. He threw a wind blade instead.

"Splat!"

Rudolph, hit by the detonating talisman and wind blade simultaneously, was gravely injured and unable to escape. He collapsed to the ground, his eyes closed.

"Retreat!"

Troy had never envisioned such a formidable foe, and the preservation of his nation's treasures appeared to be hanging by a thread. Filled with despair, Troy retreated into the mine with his three subordinates and the remaining fortified soldiers.

"Move quickly. There's a multitude here. News of our actions won't remain concealed, and we must gain control before other factions intervene!"

Under the onslaught of wind blades, the fortified soldiers, whose thick iron armour seemed as fragile as paper, found themselves ineffective. While the leader managed to fend off the assailant, the odds were stacked against them. Meanwhile, Troy had already fled, and the elevator doors were shutting.

"Damn it! Open!"

Without hesitation, Lord Gen formed a seal, casting a colossal wind blade.

"Wind Release: Vacuum Jade!"

The immense cyan wind blade slammed into the metallic cover, causing a deafening roar that reverberated as though the entire mineral vein were trembling.

Yet, this place was a fortress in its own right, as Gelel Stone mining wasn't without its risks. The construction here was robust, designed to prevent accidents arising from energy upheavals. The vacuum jade had only managed to gouge a lengthy, narrow crack.

"Heh, I was too careless," Lord Gen muttered.

He planted his feet firmly on the unyielding ground. The involvement of the Sand Ninja caught him off guard, nearly resulting in a costly mistake. He hadn't expected the stronghold to be so impervious. This was why Troy had chosen this location initially.

"Lord Gen, my gold-devouring beetle should be able to infiltrate. Given time, it will compromise the structure and allow us to breach!"

Beetle produced a small dark-gold beetle. Its formidable claws exuded an aura of intimidation.

"I possess only a few of these bugs, so I'll accelerate their reproduction with my chakra. It will take around an hour to undermine this place." Beetle calculated, providing an estimate.

"Then let's proceed quickly."

Seating himself, Lord Gen replied. The four Sand Ninja had been meant to serve as reinforcement, but they'd been swiftly dispatched by his hand. Given the distance, news wouldn't have reached the Sand Village immediately.

Konoha had already been apprised of the situation here. Once the remnants were dealt with, Konoha would swiftly mobilize to seize control of the mine.

In the distance, a panicked crowd remained visible. The king was dead, the army scattered, and despair pervaded what were once bustling streets. This minor nation had crumbled in an instant.

And it was the efforts of the four Anbu Ninja that had contributed to this calamity. The ferocity and might of high-level ninja were laid bare, the devastation they could wield starkly evident.

The quartet stared at the distant chaos and crying populace, seemingly accustomed to the sight. It was a scene they'd seen repeatedly.

"Those detestable ninja... I'll never forgive them!"

Within the mine's base, Troy vented his anger by furiously overturning machinery and bellowing in frustration.

His once-thriving nation lay in ruins. He had never anticipated such a tragedy in this modest corner of the world.

His research, his human experiments, his aspiration for leadership—all had crumbled in an instant.

This stronghold, too, was likely doomed. The adversary was at the gates. The leader was overwhelmingly powerful. Although Troy hadn't engaged him, he could gauge his own inadequacy.

"Well, well, you seem rather disheartened," Orochimaru purred, stepping out of the shadows. He was now clad in a black hood, and the scarlet Three-Tomoe Sharingan in his eyes radiated an eerie glow.

His appearance was eerily reminiscent of their prior encounter in the black market.

"Who are you? How did you infiltrate?" Bart roared, and Jace, assuming tiger form, lunged.

"Relax, I've come to cooperate," Orochimaru purred, evading with his Body Flicker Technique. "I bear crucial news, and this is just a clone. Shattering me is futile."

"Damned ninja!" Jace charged once more, only to be halted by Troy.

"Outsider, state your purpose. My patience is thin."

Seated upon his golden throne, Troy scrutinized Orochimaru, his demeanour frosty.

"Firstly, know that Konoha is already aware of this location. According to my intel, Konoha's forces will arrive in two or three days, at most."

"I'm already aware of that. Spare me your babbling!" Troy thundered, eyes brimming with fury.

"You probably aren't aware that our foes could arrive in a mere two hours, if not sooner. Your defenses are less impregnable than you assume."

"What? Impossible!" Bart exclaimed.

"Ninjas possess diverse techniques. It's wise to prepare," Orochimaru advised, "Moreover, one of the Konoha ninja hails from the Hyuga Clan. His Byakugan sees through barriers. You'll likely be discovered unless you act prudently."

"Then we'll confront them head-on!"

Hela's gaze toward Orochimaru was as cold as ice. Despite the misdeeds of her own forces, she reserved her utmost resentment for Anbu ninjas.

"Stipulate your terms. Why help us? And with your assistance, can we prevail?"

Troy remained unyielding, his gaze fixed unflinchingly on Orochimaru.

"As a ninja, you must have suffered as well, haven't you?"

"No surprise from the one who knows the true value of Gelel Stone."

Orochimaru replied casually, moving beyond his initial stance to regard Troy as a hero of sorts. While his brother saw the Gelel Stone as a clean energy source, Troy, having fled here following the destruction of his homeland, saw it as an opportunity for human experimentation, augmenting his strength to incite rebellion.

Alas, as a non-ninja, his potential was limited—unlike those who possessed unique bloodline limits. Orochimaru surmised that had he been a ninja, he might have achieved greater power.

"I, too, have grievances against Konoha's ninjas. I'm also a researcher, and I present this as a gesture of goodwill."

Orochimaru extended various potions, which Bart promptly caught.

"These potions I've devised enhance strength slightly, particularly suited for you. As for my conditions, prioritizing the elimination of Anbu is key. But as a researcher, I'd appreciate access to some Gelel Stones."

"Is that so?"

Troy regarded Orochimaru with cautious skepticism, gesturing to Bart.

Bart didn't hesitate. He consumed a potion without pause.

This was an enhanced G potion developed by Orochimaru, infused with a hint of Wood Release energy. Though it might not profoundly affect ordinary individuals, it wielded more potency against warriors transformed by Senjutsu Chakra.

"I sense... an increase in my power!" Bart exclaimed, pleasantly surprised.

Troy's gaze remained fixed on Orochimaru. "I'm still wary of you, outsider!"

"The enemy of your enemy is your ally. I bear a grudge against them too. Otherwise, I wouldn't be here."

Orochimaru's hoarse voice carried an oddly persuasive quality. "You've no alternative. I could vanish at any moment. Can you really let go of everything?"

Troy's fists clenched, his voice rendered mute.

"Their arrival looms, and your nation faces Konoha's imminent invasion. If you don't surrender now, you'll lose everything. We can join forces to challenge them."

A faint grin played upon Orochimaru's lips. He recognized that Troy had no choice. A hero who'd seen his ambitions and hard work crumble could only relent in the end.

"May you uphold your word."

Slowly rising from his throne, Troy's eyes bore an unwavering resolve.

Years of dedication were on the precipice of dissolution. Troy could no longer remain concealed.

After years of excavation, half the ore veins lay depleted. Their Gelel Stones—extracted by him—had been preserved carefully. Even Takeshi had procured a few of the freshly harvested stones.

"Accept this."

Troy retrieved a dazzling Gelel Stone from his inner pocket, hurling it toward Orochimaru. Within it pulsed a vast reservoir of chakra.

"A pleasure doing business."

Orochimaru caught it deftly, satisfaction evident in his smile.
