There was no use in concealing it anymore. Princeton knew where I was hiding. He knew everything. There wasn’t any use running anymore.
“You’ve wanted to know my past,” I said, sniffing up at my boyfriend. “I didn’t tell you for a reason. I told no one. Because Princeton is dangerous. I don’t know when it happened, but he seemed so chill in high school. It’s been years since I first met him. And he has gotten more terrifying by the day.”
I shook my head. I had to start at the beginning.
“When I graduated high school, my friends convinced me if I went to a college party, I wouldn’t be a loser when I started at the community college. They claimed I needed to be prepared for college parties.”
The memory of Bryn from that night played back in my mind. “This party is full of people we were behind in school. They’ll be juniors. I’m friends with a couple of them. They told me about tonight’s party, and I really wanna go.”
