Iris was slightly surprised to hear her grandma's question. She tried to appear as calm as possible and simply nodded in response while glancing at Xavier. She was curious to see if he was already aware of the news.
"Heaven! That child was unlucky," Cassandra continued, her tone filled with sadness and pity. "She died at such a young age, and her death was scandalous. How could she be found dead with someone else's husband in a hotel room?"
Iris remained silent, her thoughts racing as she processed her grandmother's words.
'Grandma, if only you knew that your granddaughter was responsible for their deaths, you might be in shock,' she silently sighed and continued to eat.
Now, she felt confused about why God needed someone like her to take a sinner's life. Why didn't He simply end their lives Himself?
This was one of the questions she wanted to ask Lucian, but that man seemed to avoid her, adding to her frustration.
