"Little girl, watch your words." Blackie's cold words rang out in everyone's ears.
It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Everyone became covered in cold sweat. They stared at Blackie in fear, as his killing intent oozed out, feeling like death was standing in front of them and any movement would spell their doom. They even forgot they were currently inside a virtual game.
Gentle Snow's face turned deathly pale, and she found it difficult to move and even breath from being in such close proximity. She immediately regretted not stopping Yueru from saying anything; or bringing her along at all. Even Cola and the others standing behind Blackie and Feng felt afraid, though they were much less effected as they had already felt Feng's killing intent inside of the Deathly Forest.
Meanwhile, Yueru, who was the receiver of the killing intent, became completely unable to breath. She stared at Blackie's emotionless face as her legs shook under his gaze.
"Blackie." Just as she was about to collapse, Feng spoke. Despite his voice not being loud, it echoed in the quiet surroundings. Blackie immediately retracted his killing intent when Feng spoke, causing Yueru to start breathing heavily. Although only a few seconds have passed since Blackie had spoken, for her, those few second felt like years.
"Sorry for that, Miss Snow. As an apology and thank you for the belt, please accept this." Feng said, as he took out a piece of paper from his bag and passed it to Gentle Snow indifferently.
Everyone became speechless upon seeing Feng take out a piece of scrap paper and give it to Gentle Snow. If he didn't really want to apologize, he could have simply not said anything and walked away. Did he want to insult the Snow Goddess? However, no one dared to say anything this time in fear of angering that Cursemancer expert.
However, Gentle Snow gladly received the scrap paper Feng gave her.
"Thank you for your present; I like it very much. Now, can we go somewhere with fewer people to have our chat?" Gentle Snow, who's face had regained some color, smiled in appreciation. She had originally planned to accept whatever Feng gave her and leave, but upon checking the piece of paper, she immediately became ecstatic. Realizing that Feng was being genuine, she decided to try inviting him again.
Feng also smiled and nodded in agreement, before leading the way, while Gentle Snow and the rest followed.
"Snow, just what did that fellow give you?" Zhao Yueru whispered. Although he seemed to be an expert, just by seeing the fire poker on Feng's waist, she could tell Feng would not be able to give anything valuable. However, Gentle Snow still happily received it. Such a result puzzled Zhao Yueru significantly.
"A Potion Recipe for the Basic Strength Potion. When consumed, it will increase a player's Strength by 6 points for half an hour," Gentle Snow calmly replied. "What?" Zhao Yueru leaped up in shock. "How could he have such a precious recipe?"
Potionmaking was very hard to learn. The recipes needed were famed for being rare drops, even the current Ouroboros only had a few normal recipes, not to mention rare recipes. A recipe that was capable of increasing the Strength of a player by 6 points was unheard of until now.
If the current Level 2 players could have an extra 6 points in Strength, that would equate to an additional 12 Attack Power. Such a potion would have a significant effect when they dove into a Dungeon. Regarding Guilds who frequently conquered Dungeons, the value of this recipe far surpassed that of tens of pieces of Bronze Equipment. As long as the Basic Strength Potion were for sale, the supply would never be able to meet the demand. Yet, Feng gifted such a recipe away.
Even after Gentle Snow and Feng left the scene, the surrounding players had yet to recover themselves.
In a rock pit over 200 yards south of the Deathly Forest, Gentle Snow and Feng sat facing each other. Surrounding them was a beautiful scenery and gurgling streams. As for the others, they stood to the sides. None of them tried to eavesdrop on the conversation between Feng and Gentle Snow. They comfortably sat down and started chatting amongst themselves.
"I wonder what business Miss Snow has for me?"
"The Deathly Forest." Gentle Snow openly said, "I want the strategy for the Deathly Forest. State your price." Although she was still a bit frightened by Blackie's killing intent, she wasn't going to act humble. Such behavior would make her seem weak and put her in a disadvantage during negotiations. However she no longer spoke to Feng as a superior, but as an equal.
"Miss Snow I've only entered the Dungeon once, how would I have a strategy for the Deathly Forest?" Feng simply smiled and said, without actually denying anything.
Gentle Snow smiled sweetly upon hearing Feng's words. If he had completely denied having a strategy she couldn't make him give it to her even if she had proof. Although she could try to threaten him with Ouroboros, with him commanding and expert that could render her immobile with only his intent, the other members of Ouroboros would be helpless. Not to mention, she didn't know Feng's own strength yet, but since the Cursemancer expert listened to him, he was probably even stronger.
Gentle Snow's eyes swept once across Feng's party members before calmly saying, "If I'm not mistaken, the equipment your party members are wearing all came from the Hell Mode of the Deathly Forest. This Basic Strength Potion Recipe is the best evidence as to why I would say you've cleared it. Let's not twist our words around. I know you're a Beta Tester, and not just any Beta Tester. You must have done detailed research on the Deathly Forest. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to clear the Dungeon at all. You can rest assured, however, that I will not reveal your secret." Gentle Snow fixated her gaze on Feng as if she saw through Feng's entire being.
"Not bad, what you say is correct" Feng said, still keeping the same smile on, appearing to not care whether Snow knew he had a strategy or not. Of course he already knew that she would figure it out. The reason he didn't directly admit it and tell her a price was because he wanted to seem like he didn't care what she knew, well he didn't really, and so she didn't think he was ripping her of when he made his next move in a moment.
"State your price then," Gentle Snow was all smiles with Feng. It was as though she was saying, "Did you think I could not control a person like you? This lady knows everything."
"Since you've already explained... My asking price isn't high. Fifty Silver Coins." Shi Feng calmly stated.
Zhao Yueru sucked in a cold breath, nearly jumping up when she heard Shi Feng casually ask for 50 Silver Coins. She finally couldn't hold it in any longer, furiously saying, "Why don't you just rob someone? That would be a faster way." She immediately regretted letting her temper get the best of her when she felt Blackie's gaze turn towards her, feeling that she was about to suffer a repeat of what happened before, but Feng gestured at Blackie with his hand.
"I would do it if I could get that much money," Feng said with a smile. "You should know there is a lot of skill books, weapons, and equipment for players inside the Deathly Forest. They can quickly increase the strength of players. If you could conquer the Deathly Forest a step earlier, the benefits it would bring towards future developments go without saying. Anyway, you're the ones who asked for a strategy. I don't really care whether you buy it or not, but if that's too much, you could use credits. Fifty Silver or 100,000 Credits, take your pick." Feng said indifferently, seemingly not caring about their decision, but this had been his plan to quickly earn credits from the start.
Since he could easily make money with the Garrison Armor, he didn't really need any from Snow, but he could still use her to quickly get some Credits. Even Blackie to the side raised an eyebrow in surprise, not expecting Feng to use the chance to earn Credits; this would help quicken their plans. Although the others who were standing with him to the side were unable to listen in, with his senses, he could easily hear everything they were talking about like he was standing right next to them.
Yueru wanted to complain that both were too high, but upon seeing Feng's attitude, she chose not to.
"I understand. We'll pay using Credits." Gentle Snow had never imagined Feng's appetite would be so great. Fifty Silvers was too much for her at this stage of the game, however, Credits weren't really important to her, and the importance of clearing the Deathly Forest was too great. Although it was a bit much to spend 100,000 Credits on a game that came out today, she was willing to pay since that many Credits meant nothing to a person with her status.
"Alright. Here is the map of the Deathly Forest, and also the things you need to pay attention to when fighting against the Boss."
Feng sent mail to Gentle Snow containing detailed introductions to the Deathly Forest after getting the bank transfer. With Gentle Snow's abilities, they should be able to clear Normal Mode easily.
Gentle Snow looked at the strategy she received for the Deathly Forest; her heart slightly shook only after a slight glance.
She never imagined the Deathly Forest would be so horrifying. Just the number of paths available already numbered thirty-six. Thirty-three of them were dead ends. There was even a Night Ranger who moved based on opportunity. There was also a detailed description of the Boss and when it would cast its skills. She definitely got her money's worth.
Suddenly, another change occurred to Gentle Snow's perception of Feng. She felt Feng was not as simple as he seemed to be. He was certainly an expert. Only an expert could have such a profound understanding of the Dungeon. However, Gentle Snow had no recollection of an expert Swordsman like Feng.
"In three days Ouroboros is planning to enter the first Level 5, twenty-man Dungeon, the Dark Moon Graveyard. I wonder if you will be interested in joining?" Gentle Snow's beautiful eyes looked towards Feng as she invited him to the Team Dungeon. She already acknowledged Feng's strength. If Feng was with them, entering the Team Dungeon, they might have an easier time in it.
"Alright, but leave a few spots for me. Also, all Swordsman equipment and Forging Designs must belong to me," Feng answered with a nod.
"Can't you be a little more humble?" Zhao Yueru looked at Feng, pouting. She felt Feng was going too overboard. If Gentle Snow had asked anyone else, they would have readily agreed, even going as far as to forgo getting any equipment. Feng, however, even wanted priority over equipment. He was not courteous with them at all.
Gentle Snow did not imagine Feng was truly different from the other people. He did not play around with his words. However, it was interesting that he would say whatever he wanted. Following which, Gentle Snow looked towards the party members behind Feng. Although four of them were noobs, their equipment was all of good quality. They could barely manage in the twenty-man Dungeon, and there were also Blackie and Feng. Thus, Gentle Snow said, "Fine. Let's add each other as friends then. We'll be in touch when the time comes."
"Alright. You can just contact me a few hours before raiding the Dungeon. I'll arrive on time." Feng accepted Gentle Snow's friend request. Subsequently, Feng and his party members left the small rock pit.
When the group passed through the Deathly Forest's Dungeon, Stabbing Heart of the Assassin's Alliance abruptly called out to Feng. "Brother Ye Feng, I nearly failed to recognize you. I never imagined you actually knew a big shot like the Snow Goddess. You must not forget a brother like me in the future!" Stabbing Heart jokingly said as he walked towards Feng.
"Nonsense. I just happen to meet with Miss Snow by chance," Feng replied with a smile.
"Brother Ye Feng, you are too humble. Based on your strength, you are absolutely worthy of becoming friends with the Snow Goddess. After all, both of you are experts of the same level," Stabbing Heart thought Feng was very humble. It was no wonder he was such a great expert. The way he conducted himself was different than ordinary people. Stabbing Heart wanted to befriend Feng even more now. "Our Assassin's Alliance is preparing to enter the Dungeon. I wonder if Brother Ye Feng would be interested in joining us? Of course, you can pick any of the equipment that you want."
"You are too courteous, Brother Stabbing Heart. However, I still have some things to attend to. I will definitely join if there is another chance in the future," Feng politely rejected the offer.
Stabbing Heart spoke in a loud voice. Surrounding players clearly heard his words.
"You know Yueru's gonna be pissed about what you did when I return her memories, right?" While they were leaving, Feng whispered to Blackie, who froze for a moment before continuing to walk.
"Brother Feng, you've got to distract her once you return her memories, so that she forgets about what happened. As long as you work your charms, and I keep my distance, she'll definitely be too distracted to remember what I did." Blackie immediately asked for help.
That would've probably been the only chance he'd get to tease Yueru before Feng returns her memories, so he had to take it. Though he slightly regretted it, he couldn't deny that it was really satisfying to make Yueru shut her mouth for once.
"I'll try, but I'm not promising anything." Feng decided to try to help Blackie out, since he too found Yueru's reaction pretty amusing.
Blackie, slightly relived that Feng had agreed, asked "By the way, should I take them to grind while you do your own things?"
"Yea. I have some wait-" Feng suddenly stopped talking as he remembered something "Actually, I'll come along with you guys" He continued as he smiled deeply 'I'll definitely kill that little shit this time around.' Feng thought as his smile grew deeper.
Blackie was surprised for a moment, before he saw Feng's smile and understood. After leaving the Deathly Forest, Feng went to place the items his party didn't need on auction before going to the Bank to store some of the items. Afterwards, Feng's party rushed towards Dark Moon Valley without rest.
At the current stage of the game, many players had already risen to Level 2. Aside from raiding the Dungeon at the Deathly Forest, they would stay in Brook Hills to kill Level 2 Cheetah Cubs. Only a few experts would go to the Level 4 area, Dark Moon Valley, to level up. However, along with the increase in player levels, it wouldn't be long before Dark Moon Valley would become occupied.
After spending over half an hour returning to Dark Moon Valley, Feng continued towards the inner parts of the Dark Moon Valley.
The other party members who were new to the Dark Moon Valley were very nervous. It was especially true when they saw the Level 4 monsters scattered throughout the entire area. Their breaths became slightly hurried. Of course, Blackie remained indifferent. He simply followed Feng, entering the deeper regions of the valley.
As for the Elite parties, they could not help but be shocked when they saw Feng's party enter deep into the valley. They had never imagined the newcomer party would have such courage.
There were very few players currently present in Dark Moon Valley. It had yet to be completely developed, so there were a lot of Kobolds in the middle of the valley. The deeper one headed towards the center, the greater the number of Kobolds. There would even be groups that consisted of ten or more Kobolds. Grinding monsters there was just too dangerous. The lowest number of Kobolds they had to face was at least four or five. It was not worth risking an unwarranted death.
Feng did not just enter the deeper regions of the valley. Instead, he went towards the core of the Dark Moon Valley. There was a good location to grind monsters there. Not only was there a large number of monsters, but their respawn rate was quick as well. Most importantly, the drop rate there for ore was high.
Of course, Feng didn't care about all this. He had a target in mind.
Moving along the path of broken rocks, groups of four or five Level 4 Kobolds would occasionally appear. However, it was just a small matter with the equipment of Feng's party.
Within moments, the five Kobolds were all dealt with. Compared to the Elite party outside, Feng's party was stronger by several folds.
Feng simply picked up the stone materials and ore that dropped, then continuing deeper into the Dark Moon Valley.
After spending over an hour moving forward, Feng's party had finally arrived in front of a mountain. The massive mountain was hundreds of meters in height. Kobolds no longer filled the area surrounding the mountain; Wandering Gnomes had replaced them. These Wandering Gnomes each held a small shovel in their hands, using it to dig into the rock wall of the mountain. There were also quite a few Gnome Overseers that inspected the surrounding areas with a whip in hand.
Cola also gulped down a mouthful of saliva, worriedly saying, "Party leader, I'm not trying to boast, but tanking six or seven of them is my limit. I really can't manage this many monsters."
"I know you guys can't fend all of them off. However, who ever said about letting any of you tank hundreds of Gnomes?" Feng rolled his eyes at his party members.
Following which, Feng told everyone about his plan. He needed Blackie to get the timing right, maximizing the effect of Hell Flame. As for the others, they were responsible for taking out the Gnomes with low HP.
When Feng had chosen his position, he grabbed a handful of stones and rushed towards the nearby Gnome Overseer.
Just as Feng approached the 20-yard distance, the Overseer had started yelling loudly. Its screams attracted the attention of many of the surrounding Wandering Gnomes. Feng waited first for a moment, avoiding the whip of the Gnome Overseer and allowing the Wandering Gnomes to continuously gather.
When about 30 Gnomes had gathered, Feng turned around and ran in the opposite direction. Afterward, he threw a small stone that struck another Gnome Overseer. The Overseer who was struck loudly bellowed, bringing along over twenty of its brethren and rushing at Feng.
Within moments, Feng had lured over sixty monsters. However, Feng was not yet satisfied. He started circling the mountain as he lured monsters, and within five minutes, there were hundreds of Wandering Gnomes and more than ten Gnome Overseers chasing behind him with all their might.
Unfortunately for them, Feng's equipment was just too good. His speed was 30% greater when compared to the Gnomes. Including Feng's extraordinary techniques and control over his body, he was able to toy with the Gnomes whichever way he wanted.
Feng could lure more, but he judged that this was enough to draw out his target, so he lead the gnomes towards Blackie.
Subsequently, Blackie's fingers started gesturing in midair. Brilliant magical seals started appearing, forming into a dazzling magic circle that gave off a peerless aura.
As Blackie spat out the last syllable, the land shook. Jade green flames rushed to the sky, devouring the entire Gnome army. A field of damages over a hundred had appeared. Within five seconds, every Gnome chasing after Feng received over two hundred damage, their remaining HP less than half.
However, the target of these Gnomes had also changed. They no longer went after Feng, but Blackie instead.
Feng abruptly stopped. He pulled out the Abyssal Blade and rushed forward.
Thundering Flash!
Three streaks of thunder flew past the Gnome army, creating three damages of over 120 points to every Gnome. The attack had completely devoured the remaining HP of the Gnomes. As for the low HP ones that remained, they were quickly held back by Cola. Lonely Snow then rushed forward and used a Whirlwind Slash, thoroughly ending the remaining Gnomes.
The hundreds of Gnomes had been wiped out, leaving behind a floor covered with items.
Meanwhile, everyone's experience madly rose. EXP of over ten points appeared one after the other, dazzling everyone's eyes.
"Let's quickly pick up the drops."
Suddenly, everyone started busying themselves. Even with six people retrieving the drops, the loot of hundreds of Gnomes still required them to spend a lot of time doing so.
However, moments after they started collecting, a Gnome that piloted a gigantic robot suddenly appeared. The Gnome's face was crimson red. It immediately rushed towards Feng's party with unparalleled rage.
'There you are.' Feng grinned upon seeing the gnome "I'll tank it, you guys try to get some hits in, Blackie you know what to do." He commanded before rushing towards the gnome.
The moment everyone saw the giant robot piloted by a midget Gnome, they instinctively knew he was something very dangerous. After hearing Feng's command they ignored the loot and followed him.
[Hazard Gnome] (Special Elite)
Level 5
HP 1600/1600
The Hazard Gnome's target was currently Blackie since he killed most of the gnomes, but it switched to Feng once he approached it, so it violently slashed at him with the electric saw on the robot's right arm, but Blackie had already cast Evil Whip, binding the Hazard Gnome with five thorns and greatly reducing the Gnome's speed. Feng moved out of the saw's trajectory and slashed at the Hazard Gnome.
Chop!
Double Chop!
-4, -5, -5
The others became dumbfounded upon seeing so little damage. Previously even Feng's regular attacks did dozens of times more damage to the Lord rank Felt, yet now, even the damage from his skills did damage in the single digits. Suddenly, they understood how powerful the hazard gnome is.
When the Hazard Gnome broke free from the five thorns, high damages of -23, -24, -23, -23, -24 suddenly appeared on his head. His HP had turned to 1469 within an instant.
The damage caused by the Evil Whip was just ridiculous. The others became shocked.
Currently, the Hazard Gnome's Hatred was targeted towards Blackie. However, Lonely Snow was a step ahead of the Gnome, using Charge on him. He used a Whirlwind Slash on the Gnome, causing 3 points of damage.
Although the damage was low, the momentary Fainted state it caused gave Feng and Cola to land some attacks, causing a few -1s and -2s to appear.
After getting out of the Fainted state, the Hazard Gnome ignored Feng and the other two, going towards Blackie, while Blackie retreated. Feng and the others attacked the Hazard Gnome to slow it down, but it continued to ignore them. The next second, Feng's cooldown on Thundering Flash was up, so he used it along with Chop and Double Chop.
This caught the Hazard Gnome's attention, as it stopped for a second. The green-skinned Gnome revealed a mocking smile on his face, his tiny hands moving around and manipulating buttons. The robot's arm holding the electric saw made a roundabout slash, creating a beautiful arc. It intended to send Feng flying before continuing towards Blackie who was getting further away, but Feng dodged the attack.
The Hazard Gnome became annoyed and continued to slash at Feng, but he dodged every attack. Soon, Blackie's cooldown on Evil Whip was up, and five thorns bound the Hazard Gnome, while the others took the chance to do more damage to the Hazard Gnome. Due to Thundering Flash's damage amplification the Hazard Gnome took even more damage from Evil Whip once it broke out.
The Hazard Gnome did another roundabout slash at Feng, which he dodged, but this time, it didn't attack again, instead, it lifted the gun in its left hand, aimed it and fired a burst of bullets at Feng.
A barrage of densely packed bullets flew towards Feng. However Feng merely sneered at the Hazard Gnome's attempt. While it was aiming at him, he had activated Gravity Liberation and moved out of the bullets' trajectory. Even after the Hazard Gnome aimed at Feng again and tried shooting at him, Feng merely moved before it fired, causing all of its bullets to miss.
While being toyed around by Feng, The Hazard Gnome's HP continuously fell, 64%... 50%... 30%... 20%... 10%.
Feng was close to the Hazard Gnome, expecting the gnome to jump out as soon its HP dropped to 10%, however the gnome inside had the robot do another roundabout slash, blocking Feng's way, while it jumped out. It wore a pair of Rocket Boots and started to escape in the opposite direction.
The others watched as the Hazard Gnome ran, with extreme speed, to a location without people. They were shocked. They never imagined the Gnome would have such a high intelligence. He ran the moment he knew he could not win the fight.
"We can't let him escape! We will have fought for nothing otherwise!" Cola immediately chased after the Gnome. He had been bullied by the Hazard Gnome just a moment ago, so his heart was currently filled with anger. How could he let the Hazard Gnome escape after having taken advantage of them?
"Where do you think you're going?" Feng said coldly. If he allowed Arcus Maddox to escape from him again, he might as well retire right now.
Phantom kill!
Feng's doppelganger appeared in front of him. Feng jumped on top of the doppelganger, before jumping over the robot and towards Arcus Maddox's direction; meanwhile, the doppelganger activated Parry to block the oncoming saw Feng left it to deal with.
Nine Dragon Slash!
Nine phantom Abyssal Blades appeared around Feng. He activated Gravity Liberation which cooldown has just ended, and controlled one of the phantom Abyssal Blades to go under him while the other eight went towards Arcus Maddox. He landed on the phantom Abyssal Blade under him and followed.
Arcus Maddox had a shocked expression when it saw Feng fly after it, it hurriedly pressed a button on its waist. The Rocket Boots spewed out large amounts of flames, ready to fly away.
The Hazard Gnome's shameless Rocket Boots shocked everyone.
They had never seen a monster that was so good at escaping before. Its human-like expressions and actions were completely different from NPCs. The Hazard Gnome was like a person pretending to be an NPC.
Two streaks of crimson flame flared, slowly lifting the Hazard Gnome into the air.
At this point, Feng was already on the same height as him and only ten yards behind the flying gnome, while the other eight phantom Abyssal Blades were even closer.
Currently, the Hazard Gnome's displayed information changed. He suddenly became Arcus Maddox.
[Arcus Maddox] (Lord-rank)
Level 5
HP 600/600
Just when the eight sword shadows were about to pierce Arcus Maddox, the Gnome took out a few steel balls from his small bag. He threw the balls at the phantoms of the Abyssal Blade.
However Feng had already expected this. Under his control, the phantom Abyssal Blades avoided the steel balls and continued towards Arcus Maddox, who now had a fearful expression. Meanwhile, Feng grinned as he saw the phantom Abyssal Blades less than a yard away from Arcus Maddox. He was going to kill him this time... or so he thought.
Dang! Dang! Dang! Dang! Dang! Dang! Dang! Dang!
Eight dangs echoed as the phantom Abyssal Blades bounced off a thin white sphere with cracks on it that appeared around Arcus Maddox, who seemed relived. Although activating the barrier slowed it down, it was still going to get away.
Meanwhile, Feng's eyes bulged when he saw the white sphere 'It has a defensive barrier!?' despite Feng's usual calm demeanor, he couldn't help but get pissed upon thinking that Arcus Maddox was going to get away from him again. Was going to fail at something so soon after he got reincarnated? When he saw Arcus Maddox's mocking expression his anger reached its limit.
"WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING, YOU LITTLE SHIT?" He took out all the bottled up anger he felt from failing and dying in his previous life in one swing.
Abyssal Bind!
Thundering Flash!
Three streaks of thunder shoot towards Arcus Maddox, who was bound by nine pitch black chains. The first lightning expended the cracks, causing the white sphere to become completely covered in them. When the second lightning streak passed, the cracks expended even more, before...
Shatter!
The white sphere shattered, and the third and final lightning streak tore through Arcus Maddox.
-298
Although almost half of Arcus Maddox's health was gone, the mocking expression never left his face, in fact it only intensified. He knew that that Thundering Flash was now on cooldown, so Feng won't be able to use it, and the Abyssal Blades have bounced off too far to be a threat. Even though Abyssal Bind bound him, the Rocket Boots were still activated, and in a second, he would have escaped.
But when Arcus Maddox saw Feng's creepy smile a chill ran down his spine. Suddenly, Feng's face became emotionless, and his eyes soulless, as he swung the Abyssal Blade at at him.
Thundering flash!
Another three streaks of thunder flew towards him. Arcus Maddox mocking expression immediately became one of terror, but before he could do anything, the three streaks of thunder tore through him.
-179, -215, -258
He was already dead by the second one, the third one was just for good measure.
Feng, who was lying on the ground after swapping with his doppelganger who got sent flying by the robot, immediately grew ecstatic when he saw Arcus Maddox's corpse falling to the ground
System: [Lord-rank] Arcus Maddox killed. Level difference of 2. EXP obtained increased by 200%. Obtained 6000 EXP.
Feng breathed out a sigh of relief, before getting up and walking towards the loot Arcus Maddox dropped when...
System: You have killed the Gnome Inheritor. All gnomes have become hostile to you. As long as you enter the territory of gnomes, you will be hunted by all gnomes within it endlessly.
"Huh?" Feng was surprised by the announcement, but before he could react, sounds started coming from afar. When Feng got a better look, he realized that all the gnomes on the entire map were coming towards them. Moreover, the gnomes who have respawned were all staring at him with angry expressions.
"Pick up the loot and run!" Feng shouted as he ran towards the loot dropped by Arcus Maddox. Meanwhile the rest quickly picked up rest of the loot from the gnomes before running, and Feng quickly followed along with an army of gnomes behind him.
Feng soon noticed that, while his speed was faster than the gnomes, the others' wasn't. Although the gnomes were targeting him, if he ran away from their territory, the others would become their next target
"Split up." Feng commanded before changing directions. The others understood that they would be in danger if they stayed with Feng, so they did the same.
After a few minutes of running, Feng finally got out of the gnome's territory. Soon he contacted Blackie and chose a place to meet up. While going towards the location, Feng started looking through the loot dropped by Arcus Maddox in excitement.
In his first life, no one was able to kill the Hazard Gnome, so no one even knew that Arcus Maddox was piloting the Hazard Gnome. In his previous life, Arcus Maddox had never appeared again after he ran away. Although another Hazard Gnome would sometimes appear when Level 5 players and below would kill too many gnomes, and Feng had organized a party of experts to kill it, the gnome inside wasn't Arcus Maddox, but some random gnome.
Although Feng had eventually gotten his revenge after Arcus Maddox reappeared and created the Fortress "Twin snake ring", and he had gotten plenty of rewards after successfully killing him, with him almost escaping again, he always wandered what would have been dropped if he killed Arcus Maddox when he appeared as the Hazard Gnome.
While looking through the loot, Feng became shocked. Arcus Maddox had dropped seven items, of which one was an epic material and two were epic items.
