The cold wind hit Ellie's face when she finally exited the main door to the quarters. The wind had become heavier, and the flashes of lightning decorating the dark, starless sky, indicated the rain was closer than ever.
She needed to hurry, and that was exactly what she did. Avoiding all the places she was sure the guards would be patrolling, she walked hastily to the main palace, then diverted toward the direction that led to the prison quarters and lab.
Once again, she stood by the edge of the building, the same spot where she stood earlier to survey the place. It was quiet as a graveyard, but she clearly saw a guard standing in front of the prison quarters. He looked to be different from the ones she met that afternoon.
Now she realized that she was supposed to have come up with a plan. Not that she didn't know initially, she just couldn't put anything together and she didn't want to waste precious time trying to come up with something.
