Chương 40: Stray puppy

"My last confession was… Never… And I can't believe I am confessing, for the first time, to the one I'm about to kill." These were the next words that escaped Storm's lips after a moment of silence.

He heard the priest's heart skip a beat, and increase in tempo. One side of his lips curled up into a smirk when he heard uncomfortable shifting coming from the other side.

"I don't understand you, my child. What do you mean?" The priest's voice filtered through to Storm's ear.

"Your child?" Storm chuckled. "I'm not your child, Father Brian. You killed the people who had the right to call me that. Remember?"

"Who are you?" Father Brian's voice echoed, his tone turning low and suspicious.

"Do you want me to introduce myself or would you like more time to remember?" Storm asked, smiling because he could visualize the man's every move.
