The car actually started moving. I felt a bit sad, even though I didn't want to.
I felt like crying, my family was sending me away to a place I don't know and with people I don't know about, and they were not even worried about it.
I listened to my favorite playlist and watched as we passed houses and different places, very soon I noticed that we had left California, I wondered how far this Academy was.
Then suddenly I felt very sleepy, this was very odd considering the fact that I normally don't sleep during road trips, much less not when there were two unknown people driving me off to an unknown location.
But unfortunately, it seems like my eyes had a mind of their own. My eyelids were too heavy that it felt as if it could not stay open, finally I succumbed to the sleep and I drifted into darkness.
~~~~
I finally opened my eyes, and it felt like that sleep was really what my body needed, it made me feel like I hadn't slept all my life.
But how long did I sleep that we were still driving? I bent down to look at my phone, but my environment caught my eyes.
Gosh!! There's no word to explain this; but somehow I could find words: it was ethereal, serene, peaceful.
But the big question remained; where were we? I brought out my phone to check Google map, but to my shock, there was no reception, almost as if this place did not belong to anywhere on Google map.
I continued looking around the environment, there were many flowers, it was so colorful.
So many colorful butterflies that matched the flowers, there, I also saw a forest and I could swear that I saw a small antelope in the woods looking at our car.
The car started to slow down, and I saw it; The Academy, it looked like it came straight out of a fairy tale. Woah, I wondered how is this Academy even existing and Lina did not demand to attend.
Or did they accept only honor students? My thoughts were disrupted when the car stopped and the door opened for me to come down.
I came down, and I went to the car's trunk to collect my bags, but one of the men who opened the door for me said, "You can go in, your bags will be in your room when you get there" I nodded even though I felt weird about leaving my bags with them.
I was taken to a place where I was asked my name, age, and my fingerprints and other stuff were taken, I was told it was for my ID card.
I was taken to a big door which, I assumed, was the door for the Academy, it was opened to reveal a woman standing there with a huge smile and I must admit she was beautiful, and I couldn't quite guess her age.
She said "Welcome Miss Morgan" she added to herself "woah you're even prettier than I thought" but I heard it and tried to hide the laughter.
She continued "You're welcomed to Winthrop Academy, I'm Miss Paddington"oh so that's the name of this Academy.
I did not say anything, I just looked around at the school.
She said, "I know right the school is very beautiful."
She continued "here in Winthrop Academy, we help you discover your true self and become stronger accepting yourself and your abilities."
Ok that was downright weird and creepy, your true self, your abilities, what's this a mini Cinderella story or what?
This school was very creepy, my first reason;1) It was too beautiful to be true.
2) She just said something about abilities and true self
3) And I don't trust anything or anybody.
She said, "Ok let's go inside"She led the way and I followed.
The interior of the school gave off a feeling of a castle, and it was very nice.
We were walking when I heard a sound, it sounded like a bell ringing, the Woman who I still can't believe how her name is Paddington;
like that cute bear Paddington, said, "Oh you're just in time for Lunch, let's get you to the dining hall"
she said with a smile, I still had a grim expression on, and she started walking off with me following her.
Then her phone I guess started ringing, she stopped and took it and turned to me "I just got a call that your ID is ready, so we'll stop by and take it before heading to the dinning hall"
I said "wait, what? I thought they just took my information like right now, how are they done?"
She chuckled and said, "They are really fast, don't worry later you'll understand"
I gave a puzzled look and followed her to an office. I was given my ID card, and I was told it would serve as a key to unlocking some doors and stuff.
I must say really high-tech here. After that, Mrs. Paddington said, "now we're done with the ID card, let's go to the dinning hall for lunch because I know you're hungry."
In as much as I hate to agree with her, it was true, I was starving.
We walked along a lobby and I kept looking around as I walked past, I made a mental note to do a tour later when I had the chance.
I started hearing clatters, noises from spoons on plates, people talking and laughing, and somehow it seemed my sense of smell increased because the smell of food hit me like a lightening bolt, it could only mean one thing, that the dinning hall was really close.
Somehow I started to fidget, what if they call me weird here? What if I am bullied here?
I think the woman beside me noticed then she stopped and said to me, "Be calm, you'll be alright and in time you'll come to love this Academy"
I gave her a slight nod, even though I don't think I'll ever love this Academy.
I followed her, and we entered the hall. Luckily we did not have people's eyes on us, they were busy eating and playing, much to my delight.
The hall was massive and wide, there were numerous students, both Boys and Girls.
You know, to be honest, I subconsciously thought my parents would enroll me in an all-girls Academy, and I was slightly relived that it was not true.
But then again, there were many students in this Academy, and I was already scared of it.
Miss Paddington seemed like someone was calling her, but I didn't hear anything said, "Morgan, make yourself comfortable and eat I have issues to attend to"
And just like that she left me alone in a big hall of teenagers. I stood at a place for a while, before I gathered the courage to go and look for a seat.
I eventually found an empty seat on a not too full table and I sat down.
There was a plate in front of me and a lot of food on the table, but I was too scared to actually put food on my plate, so I just stared at the empty plate as if staring will make it fill up with food.
Then I saw a hand move my plate and put spaghetti and meatballs on it and returned it to my front.
I turned to the hand and saw a girl sitting beside me, she was smiling and said, "You know, staring at the plate won't make food automatically appear.....yet"
I gave her a confused look, like seriously is this a school of maniacs. I said "thanks for the food"
She said "You don't have to thank me"
She smiled, and I could swear that her smile could light up the room.
She added and brought out her hand, "I'm Starla and you are….?"
I took her hand in a handshake and said, "I'm Morgan, nice to meet you".
She repeated my name for a couple of times as if it were her first time hearing it and said, "nice to meet you".
She went back to her food. Furthermore, she was beautiful and she looked positive, like full of good vibes and all, she has a long straight blonde hair and blue eyes that complimented her hair and completed her beautiful look.
She looked at me and said, "you must've gotten your ID card, can I see it?"
I brought out my ID and gave it to her.
She took it and said, "Wow you're in room 203, my room, so it means we're roomies"
I nodded and continued eating. She looked at me and said, "Your eyes, were they naturally green or did they change?"
Ok, what's wrong with this goddamn academy; what sort of question is that.
I decided maybe she was asking if I used fake contact lens, so I said "no it's actually natural"
She said "cool".
We ate the meal in silence, until we finished eating. She said she'll show me to my room, I nodded and followed her. I was admiring the halls as we passed, it had many markings and diagrams on it, it looked ancient. It would look good for an art exhibit.
We finally arrived at room "203". Starla opened the door with her card, also showing me how to do so.
And Oh My God!!
The room was beyond what I expected. You know I'm used to watching movies and all that, I see how they display dorms, and it definitely did not do justice to this room. It was bigger than my room in California.
I looked around the room; there was a walk-in closet, A big bathroom and a toilet. Two beds opposite each other, and like the man who drove me to the Academy said, my bags were on my bed. I walked over to it and sat down, feeling the softness on my buttocks.
Starla said, "I know the room is breathtaking. We'll settle down now, I'm going to class "
I said, "am I not coming?"
She said, "no, you just got here today, do rest up, tomorrow we'll go together"
I nodded, and she left for her "class".
I opened my bags and began to arrange my clothes in my half of the walk-in closet. Thereafter, I brought out my phone still looking for reception, but there was still no service, I groaned and lay down back on the bed and didn't even know when I slept off.
Have some idea about my story? Comment it and let me know.
