The gray sky above, previously torn open by the monsters, has now closed.
"Sigh…" A desolate wind suddenly sweeps through this space, like the sad wind of autumn, telling tales of endless solitude.
On the vast land, the two slowly approach the enormous palace ahead. Setting aside their different attires, their faces are nearly identical. One has a serene expression, his deep eyes contemplating something. The other wears a light smile, casually strolling, occasionally his eyes flashing with a hint of reminiscence.
Passing through a vast area, they finally reach the towering structure standing before them. Two doors, nearly a hundred meters high, stand in front of them, as if belonging to a palace of giants.
Sōsuke's eyes flicker slightly, concealing a hint of surprise. Aizen, on the other hand, looks at the palace before him with a smile and a complex gaze. He steps forward, placing his pale hand on the massive door.
"Whoosh…" As a white brilliance rises from his palm, countless ferocious carvings on the door come to life, moving as if animated!
"Click!" Subsequently, the door cracks open and slowly swings outward. It's like a crevice opening to hell itself, revealing a profound darkness before them.
Sōsuke frowns slightly, quietly saying, "Kyōka Suigetsu is currently in the outside world; could she suddenly appear here?"
Hearing Sōsuke's query, Aizen smiles and glances at him, chuckling, "It seems you two get along quite well. Don't worry, I'm in charge here for now; it's unlikely she can return here during this period."
With that, he steps toward the interior of the palace, entering the deep darkness. Sōsuke, hearing his response, follows him with a calm expression.
Their journey inside is silent, marked only by the steady echo of their footsteps. As they pass each section, mystical flames suddenly rise on either side of the path, illuminating the way forward. On the dark walls untouched by the light, numerous monstrous totems appear, clearly bearing the marks of ancient times.
The two wandered for an unknown amount of time before finally arriving at a vast palace after traversing a lengthy corridor. The ground of the palace was covered with seemingly dormant vegetation, creating a lush greenery.
Sōsuke's eyes sparkled with surprise at the sight, a light chuckle escaping his lips, though he said nothing. Aizen, however, was unfazed by the greenery, his attention fixed on a tall stone platform situated at the very center of the palace. Atop the platform stood a stone chair, appearing quite ordinary without any lavish gold decorations or gemstone inlays. Yet, looking at that highest-positioned stone chair, Sōsuke could feel the significance and authority it represented. "Is this... the reason Kyōka Suigetsu spoke of, the reason to ascend above all beings?" he pondered. He then turned to Aizen beside him, asking softly, "I want to know, why someone like you would be sealed away?"
"With Kyōka Suigetsu and the Hōgyoku by your side, what kind of enemy... led you to this fate?" Upon hearing this, Aizen turned to face him, a slight curve in his eyes as he chuckled, "Are you worried about facing those beings in the future? here's no need to deny it. Although we come from different worlds, you are me in some respects, sharing some inherent similarities." Sōsuke didn't refute, remaining silent. Aizen's smile broadened, and in an instant, his figure vanished from the spot. Sōsuke glanced towards the stone chair atop the high platform, and indeed, Aizen was now seated upon it. He touched the chair gently, seemingly reminiscing about something before turning to Sōsuke to speak, "You need not worry about those beings because, to them, I am still within their control."
Sōsuke furrowed his brows at his response. After speaking, Aizen looked at Sōsuke with an excited gleam in his eyes, "It's unimaginable that the Hōgyoku could achieve this extent. Or perhaps, your existence was an unexpected boon?"
Hearing this, Sōsuke's expression hardened as he stared at Aizen seated upon the high chair, "Do not associate me with you. I have no desire to exist as a part of you." Aizen smiled softly, "Misunderstand not. Your world's understanding of souls is quite superficial... Perhaps that's why it took so long for you to appear before me."
"You and I share the same soul from the root, so there's no concept of one being the other's avatar. What was left behind was merely an unnecessary precaution, but it seems this 'seed' has had an unimaginable effect." ōsuke's eyes flickered, feeling unsettled by his words. Aizen continued, "You must have noticed, due to this soul division, we often 'see' bits of each other's lives."
Hearing this, Sōsuke's gaze darkened. Aizen then smiled, "This isn't bad news. On the contrary, it's a resonance of souls. 've seen glimpses of your world from that space. It's unbelievable such a place exists, undiscovered by those beings."
"Unfortunately... you seem very resistant to entering my world to see for yourself... even to the extent of your name." After speaking, Aizen, with a smile, invited Sōsuke, "Come up here, feel what it's like to sit in this place." Sōsuke did not object. Suddenly, space warped, and the next moment, Aizen was beside him. Sōsuke, with a slight smile, said, "Is this an application of spatial power? Indeed, your world holds great value."
