Looking at her flushed cheeks, Ethan Smith finally shook his head.
Seeing this, Queenie Welch didn't insist on her offer and left with the herb basket on her back.
Ethan sat quietly on a rock, his eyes half-closed, breathing gently.
After an unknown amount of time, Queenie returned from the outside.
Seeing Ethan sitting on the rock, she approached him and whispered, "Ethan, you haven't rested yet."
Ethan nodded and said, "I can't sleep."
Queenie continued, "You haven't recovered from your injuries yet. You need more rest. I... I'll go fetch some water for you to wash up."
Ethan looked up at her, about to refuse, but noticed something off about her face.
She seemed to be avoiding his gaze, afraid of being seen by him.
"What's wrong with your face?" Ethan asked.
Queenie, covering her face, hurriedly replied, "Nothing... I... I'm going to get water for you."
Then, she hurriedly ran off.
In a short while, Queenie returned with the water.
