(---)
It was the dead of night, in the village that Oscar was staying in. But of course, he wasn't sleeping. He had got plenty of rest in the clinic.
'It's… way too quiet.'
He thought this to himself, as he walked through the forest. There were two things he was cautious about. Controlling how much sound he was making, and concealing his aura as much as possible.
Doing these two things, he could be fairly undetectable. By most.
But something heard him. Or rather, something sensed him.
A sharp bone was thrown at Oscar. He ducked, narrowly dodging.
"I knew it. Everyone's quiet because the apex predator is here."
Oscar looked ahead of him. There it was. The albino orc.
It was an orc a lot slimmer than the average orc, a lot more human-like. Of course, it still had its sharp, orcish teeth, and its huge lower teeth, but it also had hair and a human face.
There wasn't even anything albino about it, besides its skin. It wasn't blonde or anything. Its eyes were black, along with its hair.
He wore some kind of cape made out of fur and a helmet made out of bone that surrounded only the top half of his head. In his hand, he held a spear crafted from bone, as well. From a single glance, Oscar could tell. He could tell that this wouldn't be an easy challenge.
Oscar took his sword out, brandishing it for a moment. He looked at the orc, and the orc glared back, staring through his helmet. He was about six meters away from him.
[Cast: ???]
As Oscar's skin began to whiten and turn pale, a familiar chill surrounded him. The orc's expression changed, from a still, calm one, to one of a bit of surprise. His eyebrows were raised.
"So humans have the 'Gift' as well, huh?" a husky, low voice came from the seemingly young orc.
Oscar's expression changed. His mouth was agape, his eyes wide open. An orc that could speak? That was unheard of. Orcs are known as brutes, violent monsters.
"Y-you-"
In an instant, the orc capable of speaking cleared the distance between Oscar and him. As he reached him, Oscar noticed his features. A large nose, restless eyes, and cuts all over his face. His expression was still and calm. But, there was some determination in his eyes.
Crck!
The two weapons collided. Oscar's metal sword, and the orc's bone spear. The orc strangely maneuvered his spear, one that Oscar had never seen before.
The orc pushed his spear up, sending Oscar off course. His grip loosened, sliding his hand to the base of the spear. It was as if he was holding a dagger.
[Cast: Thorned Chains of Frost]
Oscar was open, so he immediately sent another attack. From the ground, 4 chains of ice arose. They were all spiky and prickly. All of them charged at the orc at the same time.
[Cast: Flame Burst]
Without any sign of struggle, pain, consideration, or anything like that, the orc was set on fire, melting all the chains that were coming toward him. Again, this caught Oscar off guard.
First, an orc that could speak. An orc that was slim. Now, an orc that can use mana? This is completely unheard of. No documents have ever recorded something like this.
But for some reason, this thrilled Oscar.
Oscar snapped out of it when he noticed the orc approaching him yet again.
[Cast: Quick-step]
A heavy burst of energy was let out at the orc's feet. In less than a second, he was behind Oscar.
Crck!
Oscar turned around as fast as the orc appeared, raising his sword to block. The orc spun around, hitting Oscar in the head with the blunt part. It left him dazed, for a bit.
[Cast: Burning Blaze Bullets]
From the orc's fingertips, 5 bullets of fire shot out of his hands.
[Cast: Ice Shard]
4 ice shards formed in the air, moving to block the 4 bullets. There was one more bullet heading toward Oscar, however. It was fast. But with Oscar's Esoterik, he was faster.
Cling!
He clashed with the bullet, parrying it, and sending it into the air.
"Focus."
In front of him, the orc was there, with his arm winded back. He threw a punch, as his weapon was already discarded into his offhand.
Oscar was again dazed from the quick hit, falling to the floor for a bit. As soon as he went to get up, the orc was gone.
