Chương 4: Stolen chances, sacred water
Crack!
The sound of shattering glass echoed through the room as Li Yue'er jumped out of the window.
Seeing this, Long Tian simply shook his head, "What a fool," he said.
There was no panic on his face, just tranquility. "I guess I'll meet her downstairs," he remarked.
With that, he walked over to his closet and started dressing.
He opted for a casual outfit, layering a t-shirt with a blazer and trousers.
He had no intention of sleeping tonight. There were too many golden opportunities in this world, and he wouldn't let any pass by, especially those related to Qin Chen...
As he descended the staircase, he saw three of his men standing behind Li Yue'er, who was now standing in the living room.
Her face was a picture of frustration and anger, which only intensified when she saw Long Tian.
"Impressive, jumping from the third floor. Unfortunately, your efforts were futile. This villa is heavily guarded," Long Tian taunted, a smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth.
Li Yue'er's anger flared even more. "You bastard! What do you really want from me? Just so you know, Long Tian, I will never give myself to you!" she declared firmly.
Long Tian merely gave a slight smile. "As I've said before, I have no intention of touching you. I'm not the type to just randomly enter caves," he said, grinning.
"Instead..." He walked over to the sofa, picked up a broom and continued, "...you'll be working here."
At Long Tian's words, Li Yue'er was stunned, seemingly unable to believe what she'd just heard.
"Wait what? You're asking me to work here?" Li Yue'er asked incredulously.
"Yes, just like a regular maid, you'll clean this place," Long Tian nodded, confirming his previous statement.
"What? Long Tian, are you serious? There are plenty of people you could hire, why me? And all of this? Clean the whole villa? Are you insane?" Li Yue'er retorted angrily.
"Well, if you refuse, something might happen to the Li family. Oh, I remember there's a talented girl attending Jitian academy, her name is Li Xia'er, isn't it?" Long Tian taunted with a grin.
Li Yue'er's eyes widened with fury, "Long Tian, if you lay a finger on my sister, I'll kill you!" She threatened fiercely.
"Go ahead," Long Tian responded nonchalantly, stretching out his arms.
Provoked by Long Tian's words, she balled her hand into a fist and slammed it into Long Tian's body.
Bang!
"Agh!" She groaned in pain, only then realizing that Long Tian's skin was as hard as iron.
Long Tian just smiled and offered the broom to Li Yue'er, "You take it?" he asked.
Grinding her teeth, Li Yue'er had never been so humiliated in her life. But this was about her sister, Li Xia'er. She couldn't let a scoundrel like Long Tian touch her.
Li Yue'er took the broom. "For my sister," she murmured.
"Good," Long Tian nodded, smiling.
"Make sure you do your job well, Li Yue'er. On that note, I'll be going," he added, then walked away, leaving Li Yue'er behind.
But just as he reached the door, he turned back, "Make sure you have food ready for me when I return," he said with a smile.
Without waiting for Li Yue'er's response, he walked out.
Watching Long Tian's departure, Li Yue'er's anger reached its peak. She gripped the broom handle tightly, channeling her anger.
"You better start working, young lady. Our young master doesn't like to wait," one of the burly men commented.
"I know!" Li Yue'er responded, and promptly went off to start her work.

Meanwhile, Long Tian was driving a Ferrari, heading towards a certain location.
His destination was eastward, towards the vast Tianzhou forest.
"Tianzhou Pond... I hope it's exactly as I remember it," Long Tian mused.
Of course, his purpose in visiting the forest was to seize an opportunity that Qin Chen was supposed to have.
The Tianzhou Pond was a source of holy water, filled with many beneficial elements... If he managed to take it, it would be a heavy blow to Qin Chen.
