Chương 5: Bonds of a system
(POV Cyrus)
"OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH SSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTT" I shouted at the top of my lungs as I felt my body stretch and recoil back and forth.
(Screw you Robert! You sick son of a-)
A few minutes later….
After a few minutes of cursing my boss and my body contorting in pure absolute fucking agony all the pain vanished and was replaced by a soothing chill through my body.
I was finally able to think clearly and able to look around and to my surprise I was in a glitching void of sorts.

Suddenly I heard a voice in fact I heard a lot of voices ranging from monotone and robotic to a few that sounded feral and demonic.
"The elemental system rejects you."
"The manipulation system rejects you."
"The martial system rejects you."
"The builder system rejects you."
"The soul snatcher system rejects you."
Then I realized what was happening (So this is what he meant by a system would choose me. So all of these voices are systems I wonder which one will choose me.) I wondered with curiosity.
These rejections continued for what felt like hours and as I was getting irritated at the fact this was basically my high school life I heard a sudden ding resound throughout the deeps of my mind.
(What the-) I thought until I saw a foot long translucent black screen with constantly changing white symbols on it appear in front of me.
(What is this thing? Wait now that I think about it, looks like those systems from Manhwa!) I wondered with amazement.
Suddenly I see the screen start rapidly spinning while it started becoming three dimensional.
I looked at the black and white cube with confusion as it slowly melted into a strange bright black and white liquid that just floated around me in a circular motion once it detached from the cube.
(Is this normal?) I questioned myself looking at the liquid floating around in my axis.
A few seconds after the cube melted the floating liquid, it started to split up, solidify, and change into something resembling a snake.
After observing it for a few moments it stopped changing and changed into what would be a badass eastern dragon if not for the fact it was only the size of a gecko.
Suddenly it latches onto my back and slowly slithered its way onto my arm in a coiling manner. I tried touching it only for my hand to be stained with black liquid and for the substance to float back to the dragon and reattach.
Once its head reached my wrist it just bit me and it surprisingly didn't hurt just felt like a pinch being perfectly honest.
Once it let go I felt a searing pain flow through my arm as the little shit melted on my arm "AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" I screamed in pain as I felt the pain worsen.
Several hours later
After many agonizing hours, I felt the pain lessen and I somehow felt better than ever as the seconds and pain passed by.
I looked at my right arm expecting scorch marks but to my shock, I found an Eastern dragon tattoo on my arm.
But that wasn't the Shocking part.
The shocking part was that the two dimensional dragon slithered around my arm as if it was alive.

I touched the dragon expecting it to leap out my arm, though what happened was not what I expected.
When I touched the dragon's torso a black screen popped out of it.
I yelped not expecting that to happen (What the hell is thi- wait I'm here so a system will choose me.) realizing that all that pain was the system 'Bonding' with me.
I tapped the screen hoping something would happen. And something did happen as white writing appeared on the screen.
< Correct you are host -Cyrus Ryker- and congratulations for you have bonded with me the –Beast tamer system- > spoke an ethereal voice as it read the writing.
"Beast tamer? Like summoners from video games?" I said with curiosity.
<Similar but yes you will fight against your opponents alongside your tamed beasts.> Hearing the voice again I assumed it was the system.
"And how exactly am I going to get this 'Tamed beast'?" I said with confusion.
before I got my answer I clutched my head as a nuke siren went off in my head.
Suddenly all the writing became red and a glowing red button appeared on the screen.
<!Alert!>
I slammed my hand on the button hoping to stop the siren blaring in my mind.
It stopped but the ethereal voice spoke up but this time with worry.
<!REPORT! Now that the host is done bonding with system he is being forcefully sent to another world by the deity of the systems –Nillious-!>
"Wait... I'm being wh-" Before I could finish my sentence I a distortion appeared before me and it started sucking me into it.
"Not this Bull shit again!" I screamed as the portal closed behind me.
"AAAAAAaaaaahhhh huh wait where am I?" I said as I didn't feel any pain and found myself in a black room with a mannequin with the same tattoo I have on it.
<!Error! Due to the current state of the host -Cyrus Ryker- being a soul not having a physical body, the host has been brought to this domain to create a new human body.>
"So I just have to create a body right?" I asked the system.
<Affirmative>
The system said as the black screen appeared beside me once more only this time with Video game controls you use to create your character.
"WELP!" I said while cracking my fingers "Let's get to it!" I said excitedly.
A few minutes later...
"Finally done." I muttered as I circled what would be my new body.

"Yeah I'm done with creating my new body so yeah end the process." I answered the system.
<!ALERT! soul catalyst created initiating portal creation!>
A distortion appeared in front of me and began thinking (So this is it… my second chance.) I took a deep breath and put a resolute expression on my face and jumped into the portal like a badass.
"I forgot how much this hurts! AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" I screamed with excitement and the fact I was given a second chance, a second chance to live again washed all my pain away.
