Her name is Miki, who kept backing away as the drunk man cursed and ranted, "You act so pure, but if someone threw a hundred thousand at you, you'd strip down and beg to be touched."
Many frowned upon hearing this. Wasn't this degrading women? His words were as foul as if he'd been drinking sewage. He was really asking for a beating.
Several people in the crowd rolled up their sleeves, ready to give the drunk a thrashing. William pushed through the crowd and tapped the drunk on the shoulder. As the drunk turned around cursing, William landed a punch on his face, knocking out some of his teeth. The drunk spun and fell to the ground.
William stood protectively in front of Miki, his face fierce. "Show your true colors after a few sips, huh? Touch her again, and I'll chop off that hand of yours."
He then moved to stand beside Miki. "Don't be afraid, I'm here."
Miki clutched her bag, looking around. Instead of appearing scared, she seemed to be searching for someone. A burly man in the distance just watched, not intervening.
"Thank you, everyone. Thank you," she said, smiling at William, who returned the smile.
Before anything else could happen, the drunk man staggered to his feet, spat out the blood in his mouth, and pulled out a switchblade. "Think you're brave? I'll have her tonight, and I'd like to see who dares to stop me." He charged at William, wildly swinging the knife. William pulled Miki back and was about to retaliate when Brian appeared behind the drunk, holding a wine bottle. With a swift motion, Brian smashed the bottle on the back of the drunk's head.
The bottle shattered, and the drunk fell to the ground, blood oozing from the back of his head. The music continued, but no one spoke or moved, all staring in shock at the unflinching Brian.
Brian, seemingly unfazed by his own actions, casually discarded the broken bottle. William swallowed hard, now fully convinced of Brian's ruthlessness. He gave Brian a thumbs up, admiring his straightforward and brutal approach.
Brian glanced coldly at William. "Miss, it's chaotic here. You should go home."
Miki, still in shock, nodded quickly. "Let me escort you out," Theodore offered hurriedly.
"Thank you, thank you," Miki expressed her gratitude to everyone, especially to William and Brian.
Brian called the police and contacted a lawyer to handle the aftermath, ignoring William. Seeing Miki nearing the exit, William followed, chatting with her. Soon, a man rushed over. William sized him up.
"This is my fiancé. Thank you for your help," Miki said, holding her fiancé's hand and smiling sweetly at William. "You should leave this place; it's not safe for a lady."
"I'll come with my fiancé next time. Goodbye, and thank you."
Without giving her fiancé a chance to speak, she left with him. William watched them go, even as they turned a corner and disappeared from sight.
Brian also left the club, observing William's every move with a cold expression. "I have a business trip tomorrow. Let's go."
Even the clueless Theodore could sense Brian's anger. The atmosphere felt colder. William noticed Brian's mood. "Why are you upset? Weren't you amazing just now?"
"You're so badass, babe. Quick, accurate, and ruthless. You looked like a pro. I always thought you wouldn't do something so brutal unless pushed. But now, I see you're the real deal."
Brian took a drag from his cigarette, ignoring him.
"Where are you headed? How long will you be gone?"
"To the mountains. I'll be back the day after tomorrow."
"I've always been worried about you getting hurt. But now, I think anyone who messes with you should be the one worried. It's so satisfying."
"Shut up and drive!"
"See? You're angry again. Sometimes I wonder if you're a balloon or, no, a ticking time bomb. Why are you suddenly mad?"
