Maybe Nureo was justified in his decision, Dave needed to mature before considering marriage.
"Shouldn't you give up and return once you are mature enough to handle a woman?" Damien suggested.
"I don't need time to mature, I can handle it well," Dave refused, detesting the thought of being separated from his mate for an extended period. The idea of Charlotte possibly forgetting him or marrying someone else disgusted him.
Charlotte belonged to him alone, nothing and no one could come between them.
"Dave, have you ever been in a serious relationship?" Damien asked, even though he already knew the answer, attempting to make a point. The only relationship Dave had that was somewhat serious was with Evelyn, but that didn't end well.
"Yes, not really serious, but it was a relationship," Dave answered, reflecting on his time with Evelyn, an 18-year-old ambitious woman.
"Did it end well?" Damien inquired further.
