After Leon and his siblings had a battle with the group of Poochyena, they continued. Their battle with that group had their blood pumping. Leon saw this as a complete win to encourage his siblings on this path.
The rain had once again subsided completely at this point. They hoped it wouldn't rain again, especially since the forecast didn't call for rain tomorrow.
"Haha, we caught all five of them, they'll sell for a great price." Lars laughed and said.
"They should, some of those kids have already turned fifteen and want to leave the island. Unfortunately, they don't have a Pokemon to start their journeys with."
Their parents had saved money for them, but they didn't have a seller to buy from.
"The ferry will appear a day after we turn fifteen, which is perfect. Tomorrow we should purchase our one-way ferry tickets to Slateport City."
Leon was eager to catch more Pokemon, but he was running low on Pokeballs. This had tempted him to open the Bronze chest.
'Dang, it! I can't wait because I need more Pokeballs. I don't want to keep coming back and forth to this place.' If he did, it may attract unwanted attention.
Currently, they were heading in the direction of the chest mentioned before. Leon wanted to acquire this chest and see.
"There's a pond ahead of some sort." Leon could see this on the map; it wasn't particularly big, but it was decent in size.
In a flash, a Pokemon leaped into the pond and disappeared. Leon saw it clearly, it appeared to be a Poliwag. Poliwag had detected Leon and companies presence before being spooked away.
"Did you see that? I couldn't get a good look at it but I'm sure it was a Pokemon." Lars was stunned and said hurriedly.
"Yeah, it jumped into the pond and fled." Leon knew this was where the chest was.
Right as Leon got close to the pond, a notification popped up.
[Detecting unknown chest! Would you like to retrieve the unknown chest? y/n]
Leon, of course, retrieved the chest to see what he would get.
[Congratulations, you've received a Water Elemental Chest!]
'Water Chest.' Leon checked the chest, which had appeared in his inventory.
Visually, this Water elemental chest looked to be filled with water. However, this was just an illusion. The chest was outlined with gold, and the area where the lock would be on the chest was a large sea shell.
Leon knew such chests weren't going to be easy to find due to his low detection range. There was a chest in Terra Mountain, The Wetlands, and Castwood Forest.
Leon only had two Pokeballs left, so he wanted to open the chest to see what he'd get.
'Open the Water Elemental Chest!'
______
[Ding! Opening Water Elemental Chest!]
[Congratulations, you've received Twenty Pokeballs!]
[Congratulations, you've received Ten Netballs!]
[Congratulations, you've received Two Waterstones!]
'Not bad, this is really good.' Waterstones and Netballs were perfect. Not to mention, he got twenty Pokeballs out of it.
They had three weeks left before they turned fifteen and the ferry would be here afterward. It was a good thing to make the best of what he could do right now.
'Beldum is close to leveling up to eleven, so let's find another fight.' Beldum, the rest of his Pokemon, and his siblings Pokemon had a good nap earlier. With this, they were ready to fight once more.
"Guys, let's forget about this area. Let's go back and finish our fight against those Taillow from before."
Leon still needed to capture Taillow, and he was certain that he could catch more than one.
"Alright!" Leona and Lars said in unison.
On their way there, they stopped and healed a few Pokemon for this confrontation. Shroomish had been healed, and so had the strongest Poochyena.
Afterward, the three of them headed towards the tree where the Taillow were nesting. This tree was impossible to miss, so they spotted it immediately.
"Oh, a few of them are fast asleep." Leon could see that a few Taillow had fallen asleep on the trees.
"I have a plan that will help us catch them with little to no effort."Leon turned to his siblings and the Pokemon gathered around.
They all listened intently to his plan before smiling in agreeance.
Moments later, Lars could be seen in another location away from the tree. He wasn't far, but his job was a decoy, or bait in this case. For precaution, Lars wasn't allowed to have Electrike by his side.
If Taillow saw Electrike, they might be hesitant to attack. After all, through time and generations; Taillow had an idea of what Pokemon they should avoid.
Lars' mouth twitched when he discovered that he was the bait. He could only agree because the plan seemed so secure; from what he could hear.
Lars appeared in the forest and stood 30 yards away from the large tree. He stood between two trees with three rocks in his hand.
Lars glared provocatively at the group of Taillow, who had finally discovered his presence. He smiled at the Taillow before lifting his feet in the air like a baseball pitcher. Afterward, he beamed a rock toward the group of Taillow.
One Rock, two rocks, and finally, the third rock! One of the rocks nearly struck a Taillow perched on the treetop. Leon was amazed that Lars had such a strong throwing arm, considering he had never played baseball or trained in this manner.
TAILLOW!!
TAILLOW!!
Suddenly, there was an uproar—and every Taillow that witnessed this provocation was furious. It was a breathtaking sight as the treetops suddenly sprang to life with the graceful flight of several Taillow, darting through the sky and heading straight for Lars like missiles.
Lars' expression changed, he hadn't expected there to be so many of them. He had only seen about seven on the treetops, but there were more than expected.
"Now!"
They heard a voice as they were about to tackle Lars with burning fury. At that moment, a large yellow cloud permeated the air. By this point, Lars had already run and taken cover.
The Taillow group's eyes widened in shock as they suddenly felt their bodies go stiff. In an instant, they fell to the ground, their little expressions filled with horror. They were not dumb, how could they not understand that they had fallen into a trap?
These humans had actually schemed against them! How shameless! They were especially enraged when they saw both these human's gloating expressions. Lars had pretended to be terrified, but it was all a facade in the end; to reel them in.
"Haha, looks like we caught a large haul of them." Leon walked over with Shroomish by his side and said gloatingly.
"They actually fell for my fearful expression. What a bunch of idiots, they really do have bird brains, haha!" Lars chimed in and said mockingly.
This group of Taillow were half dead with anger when they heard this. They really wish they could fly up and beat these two to death.
"Guys, you shouldn't make fun of these Pokemon for being slightly dumber than everyone. That's not a good thing to do to people and Pokemon alike." Leona came over and tried to reprimand them, but she seemed to have made the situation worse.
Leon only smiled before turning to the group of Taillow. He had to act fast or they would have the opportunity to retaliate. There were a total of twelve of them, which stunned him momentarily but he still opted to capture them.
Without the ability to resist, all twelve were caught by Leon. It would seem that this would be the main Pokemon up for sale.
Leon checked their aptitude and level and found that it was a decent harvest for beginner trainers. There were 7 level five Taillow with F-rank aptitudes, 3 level seven Taillow with F+ aptitudes, and 2 level eight F++ rank aptitude Taillow.
'I currently have ten Pokéballs left, so I need to stock up on more.' Leon could only sell Pokémon for money and a Pokéball or two.
Leon turned and noticed that Shroomish had leveled up twice, it was now at level eleven! His Beldum had also leveled up twice, reaching level twelve, while every other Pokémon had gone up one level.
That group of Taillow must have given out a ton of EXP!
"Guys, we've spent a lot of time out here. We should come out here another day, so, for now, we should head home."
Leon wanted to do some research about aptitude and the cost of Pokémon. He already had the idea of inflating the prices to some degree. After all, the parents of those children had saved up a lot over the years.
"Right, we've caught quite the amount of Pokémon. Besides, we should connect more with our newly acquired Pokémon." Lars wanted to go home and bond with his Electrike.
"Yes, let's go home for now." Leona agreed.
Moments later, they entered town and discovered that the streets were lively. Some people were stunned to see them enter town, because who would dare leave town?
The siblings hurried back home to the factory. Once they were home, they sighed in relief—what a day!
Everyone unpacked, settled in, and gathered around the table. Upon it, lay a multitude of Pokéballs.
There were a total of 18 Pokéballs sitting on the table, which contained Pokemon.
"Wow, what a bountiful harvest of Pokemon! Are we going to sell all of these?" Leona exclaimed with excitement.
"We are but I want to head to the Pokézone to check their aptitudes and moves." Leon wanted to test something by doing this.
"Aptitude? Yeah, you told us about that. We don't know much about aptitude, so the best thing to do is ask."
Lars believed they could inquire with the employees at the Pokézone store. After all, this store was endorsed by the Pokémon Alliance. Additionally, they had machinery capable of assessing Aptitude, Pokémon tiers, and Pokémon moves.
Tomorrow will be the day they go and check, so for now, they should wash up and get some rest.
