The delicate touch of Alea's supple skin brushed against Jason's arm as his eyelids fluttered open. He jolted back in surprise at the sudden hug and rolled off the side of his bed with a thud. Staring in awe at the beautiful girl by his side, he pressed his palm against the reflective floor of the Spiritual Realm and mumbled to himself.
'Man, I still can't believe it,' he chuckled. 'I must've either done something really good in my past life or used up all of my luck on this one.'
He gently readjusted the blanket over Alea's legs and stroked the Elf's long dark brown hair with a sigh.
'I wonder if she would still want to be by my side if the curse never happened,' he pondered. 'But I suppose almost all of my friends today were the result of some hate reading curse, one or another haha. How am I ever going to explain this to my parents?'
