"Leave the guessing game for now, we still need to question all the guests." Inspector Maynard turns to the nearby officer.
"Ask the maids if there is a spare room we can use to interrogate the guests."
As they requested, the maids gave them the biggest guest room on the first floor. The first person who was called was the lawyer. He stood with shaky feet. His briefcase was tucked in his armpit as he fetched his handkerchief from his pants.
He followed the two officers who called him to come to the interrogation room.
Lawrence noticed the small dumpling in his arms kept shifting, in its soft belly, there was a vibration, as if its stomach was rumbling.
Did it feel sorry because it couldn't eat the mouse earlier?
Lawrence sighed helplessly as he tapped one of the officers.
"Can I get food for my cat from the kitchen?"
Kevin's floppy ears perked up.
