Lawrence did not ask anything further and just sat quietly with the black and white furball in his lap.

The butler understood the signal and he bowed in front of Lawrence before retreating.

In the garden, the maids and other staff are already done putting away the tables. They also just finished sweeping the stone pathway. The bright white LED lights illuminate every corner of the garden.

When the maids and other staff left, it was already close to dawn.

Lawrence was about to retire to bed when the cat climb into his chest.

Lawrence's action abruptly stops. He doesn't know where to put his hands, but then Nala jumps down and raised its meat paw pad on Lawrence's leg.

"Meoowww~" Then he got down and ran straight to the bed.

Nala majestically stretch his body and scratch his paw on the soft bed.

'Come on servant, sleep. I will wake you up early the next morning for our investigation.'

Kevin waved his majestic long tail and gestured at Lawrence with his paw to climb up to the bed next to him.

Lawrence wordlessly approached the proud cat and scooted next to it.

Kevin clearly knew this main protagonist of his refused to let his emotions be exposed. Not when he viewed them as 'showing weaknesses.' The same can also be said in trusting others.

Still, Kevin will make every effort possible to get the trust and affections of this stone man.

"Yes, let's sleep." Lawrence quietly said. He then laid down next to the unfamiliar at the same time familiar cat.

The round jade eyes were blinking innocently at him. Lawrence watch how the cute Nala climb into his chest and curled up as if it was its usual familiar place to lay down on top of him.

Lawrence can't help but feel warm inside. He tentatively reach out and stroke the cat's head with his fingers.

"I thought cats are over-sensitive. Before, even if I change my clothes my friend's cats will hiss at me. Probably due to the smell of blood lingering in me." Lawrence murmured.

"But you don't seem to mind getting close to me." Lawrence had a small curl appeared on his lips as he felt pleased.

He placed his right hand on top of the cat and closed his eyes. In the door, he sense the butler opened the door to fetch something but the footsteps stopped.

The butler wisely turned off the lights and tuck the Young Master in the blanket before turning around to leave.

Lawrence instantly slept that night with Kevin.

When both of them wake up, the sun is already high up in the sky. And there are many voices and footsteps that echoed outside of his room. Lawrence became curious, he was about to take a look but the old butler stopped him.

"Young Master, it's best to stay inside the room as of this moment."

Lawrence pretended to rub his eyes and made his expression seem a little daze. Completely immersing himself into a sixteen year old boy whose innocence had not escaped from his youthful features.

Kevin majestically sat in front of the old butler and with his big round jade eyes, he let out a cute and coquettish "Meoowww~"

The old butler smiled gently and turned around to prepare both Lawrence's and Nala's dinner.

"What's going on outside?" Lawrence quietly asked. He gently pulled Nala to his lap and scratched the black and white cat master's chin inadvertently.

Kevin's body seemed to have undergone sudden changes, his whole body was shaking. His eyes were curved and close into a semi-circle. Without his intention, Kevin let his cat's instinct get the best of him. When he came back to his senses, he's already lying on his back, revealing his big fluffy furry belly to Lawrence. He wrapped his four meat paw pads around Lawrence's hand to prevent him from leaving.

A sweet sounding purring sound came out of his mouth due to the comfortable feeling he felt as he was scratched by this servant of his.

Kevin sigh with satisfaction.

Nala's pure jade round eyes looked up at Lawrence,

"Meowww ~"

Lawrence had a small smile in his lips as he rubbed Nala's soft warm belly with satisfaction. He then raised his head and looked inquiringly at the old butler.

"Why am I hearing men talking outside? Does my family have visitors?"

The old butler, with a clean handkerchief on his forearm, cleared his throat and looked away.

Lawrence knew from the old butler's demeanor that he wasn't allowed to say anything. It could be the father's orders to keep the private matter a secret.

Lawrence continued to stare at the old butler until the weary old man sighed and relented.

The old butler recounted the tragedy of the guest woman the family invited. The Wilson family, after the party yesterday rest in each of their respective room.

It wasn't until in the early wee hours of the morning that one of the servants found the body of the young lady. Her body was shriveled and almost unrecognizable. She was like a dried leaf, her body is drained of blood. Making her face age fifty years.

There was a broken violin on her hand, and because of her clothes, the servants recognized her.

The butler who was called by the servant called the police.

"So, young master, it's best you don't get out of your room as much as possible. There's a dangerous criminal outside. And the police haven't caught them yet."

"Is the body still here? Or was it taken away by the police?"

"The police have taken away her body for an autopsy. Many of the officers are taking rounds in interrogating the servants and also the Master and the Madam who are the hosts of the party. Many of the guests last night were also called for interrogation."
