"So . . . what do you need?" Evangeline inquired from the other end.

Xin drew in a deep breath, gathering his thoughts before responding, "Where are you? Are you in some sort of trouble?"

"Trouble? What are you talking about?" Evangeline's voice held a hint of confusion.

Xin felt equally perplexed. Her tone didn't suggest she was being pursued by thousands of players. 

Yet, the images circulating on the internet clearly depicted her as the World Boss. There couldn't be a mistake on his part. 

Could Evangeline have a twin he didn't know about? But that seemed unlikely since she was the Vampire Queen, a singular entity.

"Players aren't after you at all?" Xin asked, seeking clarification.

"Hmm . . . now that you mention it, there are quite a few pests after me. What's this all about?" Evangeline's tone shifted, indicating she was beginning to grasp the situation.
