"Lisa..." A dark voice yelled stopping them. Lisa turned to the person who had called her and was immediately shocked.
"Why are you here?" She replied slightly puzzled.
"Not the reaction I was expecting but I'm back Lisa for good," Larry smiled brightly. Lisa wasn't quite surprised but the happiness she always felt when she saw him had now faded away. She finally realized that she had fallen in love with Ethan.
"I'm aheem.... I'll take my leave," Sandy spoke feeling left out suddenly.
"You don't seem happy about it," Larry broke the silence. They stood for a few seconds staring at each other in awkward silence not knowing what to do.
Finally, Lisa opened her mouth to speak but immediately shut it down. It was seven years since they last saw each other and she had finally grown. She wasn't the little girl who kept following and watching him from behind anymore.
No, she now had a husband.
"How have you been?" Larry spoke again.
"I've been great, what about you?" She forced it out.
"I'm, you know..."
"I understand don't worry,"
"I saw the news,"
"Oooh, that? Don't worry about it,"
"Are you free? Let me take you out for dinner let's catch up little bunny,"
Little bunny was the name Larry loved calling her.
"Call me Lisa,"
"Aaah," he sighed before he continued,"I love little bunny more,"
"Dinner?"
"Tomorrow, I already have plans,"
"Who is she talking to?" Ethan who had just arrived and spotted Lisa asked no one in particular.
"He looks familiar, and pretty handsome too," Kai commented.
"Tch! You call that handsome?" Ethan said arrogantly touching his hair.
"Narcissist," Ethan was well known for his narcissistic behavior, it wasn't a secret. But indeed, he was a really handsome man.
"He has short legs," he said proudly after finding his weakness.
"He is not that short," Kai commented but he immediately zipped his mouth seeing Ethan's stare.
"Wait, I know him I just remembered,"
"Who is he?"
"The celebrity we wanted to endorse Larry, but how does he know the young miss?"
"Wait here,"
"Okay, Ethan don't act rashly," Kai eyed him. Outside the office, he casually just called him by his name.
"Aheeem," Ethan cleared his throat as soon as he approached Lisa. He walked towards Lisa and then placed his hand on her shoulders possessively as he eyed Larry.
"Are you done?" He asked. Lisa smiled and immediately knew why he had acted that way.
"Yes, I'm done,"
"Is this your friend?" The reason why Ethan did this, he wanted Lisa to fully introduce him so that he could show Larry who he was.
"Yes, this is my childhood friend Larry,"
"this is my husband Ethan," hearing the name husband totally satisfied him as he smiled brightly.
"We will take our leave," Lisa spoke as she walked past him.
"Is that your keychain?" Ethan stared at the familiar keychain in Lisa's hand.
"Mmh, it's mine why?" It was a customized keychain and only three available in the country. Thinking of that, it brought him back to years back.
Flashback,
"Hey little one, it's almost dark you shouldn't be here," Ethan stared at the little girl full of tears he couldn't help but feel sympathetic.
"Why are you crying?" Despite her face full of tears, she was so cute. At that time, he had just taken over the company at the age of nineteen. Despite her age, he looked too mature for it.
The whole country was talking about it, how he had become the youngest chairman.
"You look so heartbroken did something happen?" Ethan was someone who never paid attention to little details infact he hated minding other's business. But on this very day, he felt that he couldn't just leave the little girl alone.
"He rejected me," the little girl spoke after a while.
"Oooh, so you are in love?" He smirked. For nineteen years of his life, he couldn't fathom what love is or was. He didn't care about it and felt that it was a waste loving someone when the same person would hurt you back.
"Love isn't everything, you are too young too fall in love," he couldn't help but say as he stared at the girl who happened to be in her early teens.
"How old are you?"
"Fourteen,"
"Oooh,"
"Are you dating someone or do you love someone?" She asked after fully regaining herself.
"I'm too busy to fall in love, instead of wasting your time in love why don't you do or find something productive," after saying that, he stood up and then gave her a keychain.
"Here, have this it's customed made but you can have it. Remember don't cry for silly people who won't do the same for you," he gave her one last glance before walking away. That was his way of comforting the teenage girl.
"Wait," the girl yelled. Ethan stopped in his tracks and then turned to her.
"What is it?"
"What is your name?"
"Ethan," he replied nonchalantly.
"Wait for me, I'll marry you when I grow up," she said proudly. Ethan smiled before walking away.
It was after that time that Lisa never cried for Larry. It was like the words Ethan had told her had ignited the strength within her. After that, she never once talked about boys or her little crush.
End of flashback,
"What is it?" Lisa asked seeing Ethan smiling foolishly.
"Nothing," he replied with a bright smile as he drove the car.
"You seem happy today,"
"Indeed, I am,"
He still couldn't believe Lisa was the foolish and cute girl from back then.
"Foolish," he uttered under his breath.
"Do you always carry it around?" He asked.
"Yes,"
"Is it so important?"
"It is, very important it reminds me of an important lesson," hearing that, Ethan's smile brightened instantly.
The little girl had grown up well.
"Do you remember the person who gave it to you?" He smiled sheepishly.
"No,"
"Would you like to meet him if you have the chance to?"
"How did you know it's a him?" Lisa asked. Ethan's smile immediately froze.
