Chương 81: Chapter 80: Aftermath (1)
Law appeared in his research lab on the island. He saw Emma and Gambit chilling while having barbeque. Pietro and Wanda were also there sipping on some orange juice while scrolling through their Facebook feeds.
"Hey... I was fighting for the fate of all of humanity against an Apocalypse monster who was literally called Apocalypse and you are having fun here?" Law said as he himself took a glass of juice to relax himself from all the heat that he had suffered in the desert.
"If someone would not have teleported us back here on the first signs of any danger, we would be fighting with you," Emma said with a pout referring to how Law teleported them out of the battlefield when Magneto decided to target them and not Law.
"Yes boss, that was not cool. We have trained to support you but how can we support you if you just teleport us out when we are in danger and deal with the threat yourself." Gambit remarked
"I would have let you fight Magneto if he did not get that massive power boost from Apocalypse. Emma could not use her telepathic powers on him due to his helmet while all your attacks would be blocked by the barrier. Did not you see the state of the Sentinels? You both did not damage the sentinels much in your spars and he made a wreck of them." Law reasoned with them to which Gambit had no reply other than to agree with what Law said. They were completely matched and if they fought Magneto, they would have died.
"Then teach us some hardcore magic so we can help you," Emma was not backing out though.
"Me too! Me too! I call dibs for magic!" Pietro raised his hand as he shouted excitedly. He wanted to learn magic just so that he could win against his sister in spars and well, according to him magic was cool which Law completely agreed to.
"Fine, We will see," Law said as he looked in the direction of his damaged sentinels. The vibranium nanobots that made up the Sentinel were trying to heal themselves but some of the sentinels were destroyed too much for the nanobots to completely heal them. He had to use the last of his vibranium to repair them.
'Should I find more vibranium on some other planet in the universe? Stealing from Wakanda might cause me inconvenience in the future. Oh well, I would think about this later. First thing firsts,'
Law then went to where Psylocke and Angel were to have them join his mercenary team. More people meant more mercenaries and more mercenaries meant more missions and more missions meant more money and recognition to Law.
He first appeared before Psylocke who was still unconscious. Law woke her up.
She looked confused about her surroundings. Although she was in a mind control, she still remembered what happened.
Betsy aka Psylocke tried to recall what happened 'Some blue guy came to us, enhanced my powers, then controlled my mind. Then I faced some robots and got beaten down pretty quickly. I remember a creepy guy also being there who commanded those robots.'
She then looked forward to where Law was striking a pose and immediately recognized him as the creepy guy.
"Fear not, fair maiden! For I, The Death Surgeon have come to rescue you from the clutches of the vile Apocalypse!"
Psylocke looked bewildered at the guy as she asked "Who are you?"
"Who am I? Only the most dashing, charming, and incredibly modest mercenary this side of... well, anywhere! And I've come to offer you a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join my team of elite mercenaries!"
'The death surgeon, I have heard about this name before. Ah right, he is the guy that is making waves in the mercenary community. The one who can heal diseases that no one can. It looks like he saved me from that guy.' Psylocke thought before asking skeptically
"I appreciate the rescue, but I don't know if I can trust you and what's the catch?"
"Catch? No catch! Just a bunch of misfits trying to make a living. We've got me, the charmingly best mercenary, a guy who can throw cards that cause explosions, a girl who is a billionaire with her body made of diamond, a literal magic witch, and a cranky kid who can easily win a marathon against Usain bolt. Oh, Not to mention we have super robots in our team too. Trust me, it'll be a blast!" Law said pointing to his team while introducing them.
"Hey, who are you calling a cranky kid? And I can easily beat Usain Bolt in a race." Pietro shouted proving Law's point.
Psylocke thought for a while before agreeing "Fine, but I would see how it goes for the first few weeks. If I don't like it then I will be leaving."
Law smiled under his mask "Excellent! Welcome aboard, Psylocke! Together, we shall conquer evil... and maybe grab some tacos on the way!"
Angel, well did not want to join their team as he was tired of fighting. So Law decided to throw him with other mutants that he had to take to the Xavier's mansion.
"Oh boy, It would be hard to explain to Charles and Mystique about Magneto's death." Law cursed under his breath.
