Grayfia sped up and started walking in front of me. Moments later Sirzechs turned around and started following me. I could still instinctually feel his aura pointed at me, but it was calmer. I turned around to see his face. I nearly booked it when I saw his eyes were still crimson, but there was a small tug of his lips.
"Haha. I'm in danger."
I mirthlessly chuckled quietly to myself. I could tell Grayfia heard it but I doubted anyone else did.
We arrived at a room and Grayfia opened the door, letting us in. I saw a rather small table with three seats. Sitting in one of the seats was Aiyanna Gremory. Sirzechs walked past me and took his seat. Aiyanna's eyes never leaving Sirzechs. Concern was clear on her face.
"Is something wrong, dear?"
"We'll see." Was his curt response.
Grayfia went to stand behind her king and I took the seat opposite to them.
Minutes passed as Sirzechs glared at me, Aiyanna curiously looked between the two of us, and Grayfia stared emotionlessly.
"So…" I said tapping my fingers on the table. "Am I gonna die?"
"[Probably.]" The gear formed on my hand and Ddraig's amused voice came to life.
"That's incredibly reassuring, thanks, Partner." I sighed.
All I did was insult the man back. If his ego is so fucking shallow that he can't take a comeback then fuck him. Normally I wouldn't even care if someone wanted to kill me, after all I'd just end up back in the Land of Lost Souls and come back. However…
This is the Incarnation of Destruction.
The man could destroy my very soul if he so pleased.
"No." Was Sirzechs very late answer. Several minutes had passed since I asked the question.
I sighed. Well that's cool.
"What Rias said was true though, I will have to punish you publicly, but there are plenty of punishments I can think of that wouldn't be so bad for you." He said, his eyes reverting back to their deep blue.
"I believe we should talk about the original reason for bringing him here." Aiyanna reminded her husband.
Sirzechs nodded and looked at me with an almost warm smile. "What is Rias to you?"
Now this was the question I was expecting.
"If you're asking status wise, she's my fiance…although I'm certain that's not what you meant." I chuckled getting unamused faces from everyone.
Tough crowd.
"Rias is my girlfriend, the woman I find most beautiful in this world. From her beauty, to the way she treats the people she cares about. She's someone I'd fight and die for, much like everyone else in her peerage. They are all my lifelong friends and I'll ensure they live by my side forever." I said, getting serious.
Aiyanna smiled, although Sirzechs still looked unconvinced.
"Do you love Rias?" He asked.
Shit. This was the one I wasn't hoping for.
"I love Rias, in a similar way to how I love Akeno, and Koneko. They are all women I care about. People I would struggle for if it meant they could smile. I don't quite know what romantic love is. Not yet. I've never had it before, but I think with Rias…we have a good start."
Grayfia's lips turned up and her face turned to her king. He was looking into my very soul.
"So you are not in love with Rias. A shame. I hope that will change soon." A warm smile forming on the satan. "I hope that will change soon."
I nodded, also giving him a warm smile.
"That being said." Purplish black aura radiated from Sirzechs as he stood up, his eyes returning to crimson. I shivered under what I assumed to be only a fraction of his power, directed at me.
"I love my family more than anything in this life, the last, or the next." He walked towards my seat, and my eyes couldn't even meet his. His killing intent wouldn't allow it. "If a tear is ever shed, if her blood is ever spilled, if she ever falls into sadness." He grabbed my shirt and made me look into his eyes which had now started to shift into the same purplish black. His hair, doing the same as well.
"That's enough!" Aiyanna shouted to no avail, as Sirzechs hair continued to dye itself.
"There is no hell deep enough. There is no heaven vast enough. There is no pantheon or faction strong enough to save you from my wrath." The aura started to dissipate and he went back to his seat.
Aiyanna and Grayfia looked at me in concern as I clutched my head and panted, trying my best to not have a heart attack. When I looked into his eyes, I saw what nothingness looks like. What the infinite abyss that destruction grants you looks like.
As I calmed down, I smiled faintly. Sirzechs had completely reverted back to his normal look and was looking at me curiously.
"I think the Hindus would beg to differ." I gasped out. "I don't need your threat to do my job as Rias' lover. I will succeed."
Warm smiles formed on all three of their faces, but I wasn't done.
"But know this." I took a moment to catch my breath and look up as Sirzechs face shifted back to its impassive state. "Your fear tactics are strong, but they won't work. Not forever. There is no being in existence I will not surpass. You are a stepping stone on my path to the top, and trust and believe I will stomp over you and move onto the next."
My eyes didn't leave Sirzechs, I didn't care to know what any of them thought about my proclamation. All that was important was I knew it for myself. In time, even this walking mass of destruction would be nothing but fodder to me.
"I look forward to it." Lucifer said with a challenging smirk. "Your punishment will be decided later, and I think I've kept you from Rias long enough."
I stared at the man for a few minutes, no words left my mouth but I'm certain he understood what my eyes were telling him.
Fuck you.
I finally got up and left. The second I did I saw Rias who was at the door waiting for me.
"Did you hear anything?" I asked as I wiped the sweat from my forehead.
"No, I think there was a sound suppression seal." She sighed before wrapping her arms around my neck. I pulled her close and took her lips. It calmed me down a lot.
My hand falling down and resting on her ass, groping it through her dress.
"Someones bold." She smiled teasingly, pressing her head against my chest. "Makes me wonder what happened in there to make you like this."
"I looked oblivion in the eye and told it to fuck off." I sighed as we walked back to the party.
I may not be old enough, but I need a drink.
Major turning point of Isamu. This is the chapter where he realizes at any moment he can die, and getting stronger comes above most other things.
