The next second we were standing in the kitchen.
It was 6:04 am, and school started in a little under an hour. Seeing my mom eating breakfast at the table I walked over to her and gave her a little kiss on the cheek.
"Morning mom." I smiled.
"Morn…" *Sniff* "Shower. Now." She ordered after getting a whiff of me.
"Gladly." I knew I smelt bad, but I had gotten used to the scent. Definitely a mix of dirt, bile, guts, and pure death. These gym clothes would be burned, that's for sure. Running into my room I grabbed a change of clothes, and my phone before heading into the bathroom.
I hopped into the bath and let myself sink in. Enjoying the feeling for a few minutes before I pulled out my phone and opened Instagram. I went to Akeno's following and found Kiba and Koneko. Both of them have similar following counts to myself. I followed both of them before finding Sona and Tsubaki's accounts which had similar numbers to Rias and Akeno's accounts. I followed them as well before I noticed Kiba had already followed me back. I decided I might as well increase our friendship and send him a little greeting.
IsamuSolos (6:13am): Good morning Kiba, everything wrap up well after I left?
ChivalrousKiba (6:13am): Yea, things went well. We're even having our own bet regarding who your father is.
IsamuSolos (6:13am): Oh, that's interesting. Who did you pick?
ChivalrousKiba (6:14am): Anubis, if I remember correctly.
IsamuSolos (6:14am): Do you wish to know if you're correct now or later?
I chuckled at the messages. To think he would guess right. Well…someone had to.
ChivalrousKiba (6:15am): I'll wait for you to tell us. Although I am hoping I win. If I do, Akeno will have to do my contracts for a week.
IsamuSolos (6:15am): Alright, I'll tell you later. See you at school man.
ChivalrousKiba (6:16am): Yes, see you there, Isamu.
Hopping out of the bath I smiled at Kiba's reply. It's been a while since I made another genuine friend.
I dried myself and put on my school clothes before going down and eating breakfast. My mother was still eating, and my father was simply reading the paper.
"So your father took you to Egypt to train, right?" My mother asked with an upbeat tone.
I looked at my father who was sweating behind his paper. A shit eating grin split my face.
"Yeah he did, I learned a lot there. And he promised me he would get me a PS5." I chuckled.
My father glared at me in disbelief before turning to his wife who was looking at him with a surprised face.
"Dear, I thought we agreed we wouldn't get him another one of those games after last time." She said with a cute pout. Her nekomata features were still out.
When she says last time, she's referring to the time Daiki and I ended up fighting over a game of Nba 2k and I ended up beating his ass and hitting him on the head with the console. Good times.
"I never said I'd get him a console." Anubis admitted with a defiant look that told me he wouldn't be blackmailed. Bet, he chooses death. Good thing it's his domain.
"Just like how we never went to Egypt?" I asked in a sweet tone which made the man shiver from the glare he received from his wife.
"What does he mean, Darling?" A sinister smile that promised pain adorned her face.
"I…uh…I mean…" My father stuttered.
"I'll answer that, Mom. We didn't go to Egypt. Father took me to the Land of Lost Souls where I stayed for three weeks and trained nonstop." I explained with a small tear leaving my eye. My acting skills were perfect.
My mother looked at my father in disbelief then rage. She got up and grabbed his arm, dragging him out of the room.
"At best, he's not getting any for a couple of weeks. At worst, he's sleeping outside for a couple of weeks." I smirked to myself.
I finished my breakfast and went outside in time to see Issei who was sitting on my porch.
"Morning." I said as I walked past him.
He got up and followed me with a small smile.
"Morning Isamu." He said.
Then an awkward silence fell between us. I didn't know what the best thing to do. After all, he did just die yesterday. I plan on talking to him about it but not until he brings-
"So I had a pretty weird nightmare last night." He said seriously while looking down to the ground. I could tell he was really affected by this.
"What about?"
"Well, I met a girl named Amano Yuuma and went on a date with her. We had a blast the entire time and…I think I fell in love with her. At the end of the date she told me she wanted something from me." He paused as if the memory itself was burning a hole in his heart.
"What did she want, Issei." I asked while putting a hand on his shoulder. He looked surprised at my affection before continuing.
"She wanted me to 'die for her.' She pulled out a crazy magic spear and stabbed me with it, saying something about God-Arghh." The headache from saying the God of the Bible's name caused Issei to drop to the ground and clench his head.
"You alright, Issei?" I asked, genuinely worried for him.
"Yeah, I don't know what happened. Anyways she said that I had something called a sacred gear. Then I woke up." Issei finished, then looked at me with an expectant expression.
"You want my thoughts on your dream?" I asked. Issei hesitantly nodded as if he regretted bringing it up in the first place.
"My belief is that what you believe to be your nightmare was in fact your reality." I answered.
Issei's eyes widened and he stopped walking. "No, that's impossible. When I texted Motohama and Matsuda asking if they remembered Yuuma-chan, they both said they've never seen her.
I looked at my best friend and placed my hand on his shoulder again. "As your friend Issei. I'm telling you the truth. Your nightmare was reality.
His eyes showed true sadness and fear. There was no need to read his emotions to get that out of him. Tears left his eyes and he started to sob quietly.
"T-That nightmare. It couldn't *Sob* It couldn't have been real."
"But it was." I solemnly declared. I pulled Issei into a tight hug. Other students were walking past us on their own walk to school and commented as they passed but I paid them no mind. Issei needed this right now.
My resolve to punish the bitch who did this only grew stronger. I would give her a fucking fate worse then death! I would drag her body to the depths of my domain and have the lost souls feast on her entrails!
Issei broke the hug and kept walking. I followed slightly behind him. Turning the corner we saw Rias and Akeno talking outside of her house. It looks like they were waiting for us. Upon seeing us round the corner they both gained relieved expressions and walked towards us.
"Good morning Isamu, Issei." Rias greeted us with a rather cheerful smile, though it disappeared when she saw Issei's red puffy eyes. Akeno noticed them as well and gave me a questioning look.
"I told him." Was my simple answer.
They both gained sad looks and turned to Issei. Rias cupped his cheeks and whispered something that I couldn't hear even with my advanced hearing which means she must have used magic to block me out.
Akeno came to my side and whispered something in my ear.
"You did the right thing. It will make it easier to explain everything this way." She pulled back and gave me a genuine smile which made my heart skip a beat. For once there was absolutely zero lust in her face. This is her being her true self. This is Himejima Akeno.
I couldn't help but blush at her cuteness. Something she noticed and surprisingly didn't act on.
Once Rias was done whispering to Issei, he was back still a bit down, but he was definitely a lot better.
"You good now Issei?" I asked with concern.
"Yeah, I'm better now. Thanks to Gremory-senpai." He answered.
"Call me Rias, Issei." Rias said with her trademark smile which made his cheeks redder than ever.
"Y-yes Ri-Rias-senpai."
Rias nodded and started walking towards the school and we all followed.
"So, did you speak to your father?" Akeno asked me with obvious interest.
"Yes, I did and I had the craziest three weeks of my life." I answered back with a tired sigh.
"Three weeks?" Rias raised her brow.
"You'll hear all about it after school." I waved her off. "However, I do have to say, I was rather amused when I learned you all were betting on who my father is." I chuckled.
The two girls suddenly gained rosy cheeks.
"Who told you?" Rias asked.
"Kiba. I texted him this morning and he let me know."
Rias put her hand on her chin and went into thought. No doubt thinking of a way to punish Kiba for his loose tongue.
We finally arrived at the school. Issei and I walked Rias and Akeno to their classes before saying our goodbyes and heading to our own class where I instantly fell asleep.
I awoke at lunch time and was surprised to see Kiba sitting directly in front of me on his phone. He quickly noticed I woke up and gave his iconic handsome smile.
"Oh did I wake you?" He asked.
"Nah. How long have you been here?"
"Couple of minutes. Lunch just started. I was hoping you'd wake up soon. It's been rather awkward without you as a mediator." He explained with a nervous smile.
I didn't even need to look around the room to understand what he meant. *Sigh* "Issei, Matsuda, Motohama. Stand down."
"As if we'd stand down when this bastard declares war with our existence everywhere he goes!" Motohama shouted.
"Yeah. Fuck that. We're gonna kick this fool's ass!" Matsuda shouted.
*BAM*
*BAP*
*Thud*
The sound of two different strikes could be heard as Motohama and Matsuda's limp bodies fell to the ground with a thud. The culprits being Murayama and Katase. They then turned their angry gaze to Issei who was impassively staring back at them much to their surprise.
"S-Stop leering at us, Pervert." Katase shouted as she covered her breasts from Issei's view.
Murayama on the other hand said nothing and looked at Issei in slight concern. He seemed half there afterall.
"Issei, dude you're drifting on me." I called out to him which snapped him out of his trance-like state.
"Oh my fault. I was just thinking about 'that' again." He answered.
Damn. I knew it was going to be troublesome getting Issei back to normal. Hopefully when we all meet up this evening we can raise his spirits again.
"Hyoudou-san, are you alright?" Murayama asked, which shocked the pink haired girl.
Issei didn't answer verbally and opted for a small nod instead. Which seemed to be enough for Murayama who left the room followed by Katase and the other Kendo girls.
Kiba and I talked about the ORC for the rest of lunch. I was quite tempted to join after all. Soon enough lunch ended and Kiba returned to his class room.
The rest of the classes were a bore but I managed to stay awake. After school Kiba returned and led Issei and I to the club room.
Once we arrived we saw the same five girls already present and waiting for us.
"I have brought them, President." Kiba announced before taking his own seat next to Koneko who scooted away as a defense mechanism for her sweets.
"Good, thank you, Yuuto." Rias said as she got up from her seat with a smile. "Shall we get down to business?" She asked. I answered by walking over to the same couch that Akeno was sitting on and taking my seat by her. Issei followed my example and sat beside me.
"I believe we should first start with catching Hyoudou-san up to speed." Sona commented.
Rias seemed to agree with her point of view and focused her attention on Issei. "Issei, you remember what I told you this morning?" She asked the confused boy.
"Y-yeah you said that she can't hurt me anymore. What did you mean by that, and what's going on?" He questioned with a bit of frustration.
"Of course, I plan on answering all of your questions and more. However, first I have a question for you. What do you know of the supernatural?"
Dear god here we go with the long fucking explanations. I decided I'd tune out most of it and only perked up when she finally told Issei that everything was real and she reincarnated him as a devil.
"So…I-I'm a devil?" Issei wondered in disbelief. "You're all devils?"
Rias nodded and snapped her fingers. Everyone in the room with the exception of myself stood up and spread their wings. He looked at everyone in bewilderment before two black bat-like wings appeared on his back as well. His eyes slowly made their way onto me.
"You too?" He asked.
"Nah. Guess I'm not cool enough." I shrugged.
"[Oh please. As if you would want such a downgrade.]" The [Boosted Gear] manifested on my arm and with it brought Ddraig's voice.
"You didn't need to say that out loud." I facepalmed.
"WHAT THE FUCK! YOUR HAND IS TALKING! AND YOUR TALKING BACK!" Issei shouted, which forced me to cover my ears.
"[Hyoudou Issei was it? I would ask you to use your inside voice from now on.]
"H-Hai"
'You scared him shitless.' I internally sighed.
'[Serves him right. Hmph.]'
'Tsun-dragon.'
'[Chun-god]'
"Back on topic Issei, now that you are a devil and my pawn, you will live for my sake. However, do not fear I treat my servants like family." Rias explained and all of her peerage members nodded to reassure the boy.
Issei's mood was lifted greatly by those around him. It made me happy to see he was back to his normal self. Well I was happy until he pissed me off.
Pointing at me, Issei asked a question that made me want to hit him hard. "So if Isamu isn't a devil, what use does he serve being here?"
Everyone besides me chuckled at Issei's choice of words before Ddraig spoke up again.
"[Know your place newly reincarnated devil. My host is not to be taken lightly.]"
Issei gained a look of fear and hid behind my right shoulder. I had not expected Ddraig to defend me. It brought a tear to my eye.
"Actually Isamu is the second reason we gathered today." Rias said and gestured for me to start my explanation. Everyone's eyes were on me.
"Hm. Where do I start? Perhaps my parentage? Yes, that's a good place. I am Satoru Isamu, son of Satoru Shizune and the Egyptian God Anubis." I explained with a bit of pride. The ORC widened their eyes, but their reactions were more or less tame…except for one person.
"Hell yea!" Kiba jumped in the air in victory before realizing where he was and sitting down embarrassed. Although his smile never left.
"Shit why did I say Set!" Rias cursed before catching herself and putting a hand over her mouth. Her cheeks red in embarrassment.
"Didn't take you for the sore loser type Rias." I teased the poor redhead who was no doubt wishing she could crawl in a hole and die right now. "And truthfully, Set is actually my grandfather and the father of Anubis." I explained with a small smile.
Rias only facepalmed harder at that reveal. So close yet so far.
"Wait, Uncle Omari is a god!? Issei asked in disbelief. "Bullshit. That giant couldn't be the god of anything besides sex and rizz."
"Crazy I know. However it is the truth. My mom is also a rare type of Nekomata, a Nekoshou." I teased Issei. He had been head over heels for my mom the day he learned about the glorious woman's body.
Everyone else didn't have the reaction I expected though.
"A Nekoshou? Are you sure?" Rias asked seriously. I nodded, not understanding the big deal. I looked at everyone trying to figure out what was wrong and my eyes landed on Koneko.
She stopped eating her sweets. She broke out into a cold sweat and was breathing heavily. Everyone looked at her in worry and Kiba wrapped his arm around her shoulder which made her press her head against his chest.
"So that's a bad thing?" I asked.
Rias shook her head and clarified. "It's not. It's just that Koneko is also a Nekoshou. She has…a problem with the only other Nekoshou she knows.
I failed to see the problem here. I got up and walked over to Koneko and held out my hand for a high five. "Up top little cousin." Koneko's head came out from Kiba's chest and she stared at my hand in fear for a few seconds before she slowly brought her own hand towards mine. They touched and we stayed there. Koneko's fear melted away the longer her hand stayed on mine.
"You know I'm rather surprised." I said which got everyone's attention again. "My father is the Egyptian God of the Dead and my Grandfather is the Egyptian God of Storms, Chaos, and War. However, apparently all of that pales in comparison to my mom who is a cat girl." I explained with a chuckle. Everyone else seemed to come to understand my logic and broke into their own fit of restrained laughter.
"It's because they're both men. Your sexy hot milf mom has been a cat girl this entire time! I feel like I have reached enlightenment." Issei admitted with fresh tears of passion overflowing from his eyes.
"Dude, my mom's a married woman, give it up." I pleaded but the perverted glint in his eyes gave me my answer.
"...Scum." Koneko commented which made Issei fall to the ground in pain.
"I believe we are getting off topic again. You said you'd explain what happened after you went home, Isamu." Rias pointed out and I nodded.
"I will. However, I wish to know what gear Issei possesses before I do."
"I agree with Isamu-san." Sona voiced her thoughts after her quiet streak.
"My what?" Issei asked.
"The thing Yuuma killed you for. Just imagine the strongest thing imaginable and try to draw out the power." I explained.
Issei nodded. He brought the bottom of his palms together and pulled them to his side.
Ah shit. This is gonna be peak cringe. Worse than that one black kid that wanted to be a super saiyan.
"I'll do it. Everyone, this might get a little explosive." Issei ignored the deadpan on everyone's face. "Kaaaaaa…Meeeeee…Haaaaaaa…Meeeeeee...…Haaaaaaaaaaaaa." Suddenly everyone was actually enveloped in white light.
When it cleared up everyone found themselves in a white void.
"How?" Rias asked.
"Ara ara, this is quite the power." Akeno commented with her usual smile.
"Which gear is it, Ddraig?" I asked. Everyone locked eyes with my left arm.
"[It's been a while since I've come across a wielder of this gear. It is one of the Thirteen Longinus, [Innovate Clear] It grants the user the ability to create a pocket dimension where they can create entities that may only live in this dimension."
Everyone's eyes widened as they turned to the brown haired boy. I for one just smirked.
"Tell em to bring me my money."
Take a break and head outside. The sun is good and the moon is bright.
