Chương 27: Chapter 27

~Celestial Realm~

~Golden Castle~

"You don't have to brush my hair so often." A quiet voice complained while Sarell brushed Reqiel's hair.

It had been a few more days after they got back to the Golden Castle and Sarell had been doing his best to nurse the injured Prince back to health.

He was so used to Reqiel nagging that he didn't think anything about the fact that he had literally just spoken to him. "You have to lie down all the time now so it gets tangled oft…" He started to explain impatiently before cutting himself off, nearly falling off the bed.

"Reqiel?" He threw the brush over his shoulder, scrambling closer on the bed to get a good look at him. "You're awake?" He whispered, finding it hard to believe.

"That's the first time you stopped brushing my hair when I complained." Reqiel pointed out.

Sarell was hardly listening though, already fussing over him, throwing around orders for an attendant to fetch the physicians and for someone else to get the Royal Physician.

Reqiel quietly laid down, deeply exhausted even though from the looks of things he had spent a good number of days out of it.

"How do you feel?" Royal Physician Erlan's voice dragged him out of his thoughts and he was forced to reply.

Thankfully, the uproar didn't last long and after pronouncing him perfectly healthy and recommending a couple more days of bed rest, Erlan made himself scarce, the rest of the physicians following suit.

Reqiel made a move to sit up while Sarell was thanking the physicians, his side felt a little numb perhaps from the treatment that had been used on him. He was a little scared to feel around where he had been shot through, much more lift up the light, pastel colored inner shirt he was wearing to get a peek under.

He only managed to get halfway up before Sarell was hurrying back, an expression on his face like he had tried to jump out his bedside window.

"Prince Reqiel!" He panicked, hurrying to gently but firmly push him back to lay down on the bed. "Royal Physician Erlan insisted that you remain on bedrest for at least a few more days." He was quick to remind him.

Reqiel rolled his eyes. "I'm aware of that, I have no plans to leave the bed, I would just like to sit for a bit…"

"Not for a couple hours more, you just woke up." Sarell argued, refusing to budge.

Reqiel was about to say something to counter him but the look in Sarell's pale green eyes made him swallow back his words, he couldn't imagine how hard it must have been for him.

"You should finish up with combing my hair." He said in a quiet voice, slowly closing his eyes with a deep sigh.

Sarell was caught off guard by this response but wasn't about to question Reqiel's sudden acceptance. "Of course, Your Grace." He bowed out of habit and got on the bed after getting an attendant to retrieve the lost comb.

He took his first deep breath since Prince Reqiel told him that the King approved for him to join the procession, he had gotten his wish to be back safe at the castle with his charge, all fine and well.

He wasn't surprised much when Reqiel fell asleep while he was brushing his hair, he must have been quite tired, not to mention weak from going days without a proper meal.

As soon as he got the chance to, he directed Teva to prepare a proper, healthy meal for the Prince, he could trust the Head Cook to do a proper job of it.

He remained by Reqiel's bedside, long done with brushing his hair but not wanting to leave him all by himself either. He made sure that the sleeping Prince was comfortable, drawing up the sheets and tucking him in.

A few hours passed by, it was late in the afternoon, the windows all thrown wide open to let light in. The curtains flailed freely in the wind, sunlight streaking in, it was a peaceful sight indeed but soon an uproar disrupted the peaceful atmosphere.

An attendant hurried in, looking horrified. "Master Sarell, the King and the two Princes are here!" He whisper yelled.

Sarell's eyes went wide at this, he had expected that they would come to check up on Prince Reqiel but he hadn't been expecting them so soon and especially not all together.

He scrambled down from Reqiel's bed, barely getting off before the door was pushed open. He dropped to his knees the same as the rest of the attendants in the room.

"Rise." King Rinon said in his commanding voice, sweeping forward at the same moment that Sarell got to his feet.

He merely stepped to the side knowing that the Royal Physician Erlan must have gone first thing to the King to give him a full detailed report.

Whatever they all saw seemed to please them because the dark aura they had all brought in dissipated as soon as they saw that Erlan's report matched what they saw.

"Leave us." Velia ordered the attendants in the room, all of them scurrying out immediately.

"Prepare for a long journey." King Rinon said bluntly to Sarell who was yet to recover from the shock of their sudden appearance.

Calas was perched by the side of Reqiel's bed, staring intently at him like he hoped to decipher how his younger brother felt by merely staring at him.

Sarell's eyes went wide at this, Velia leaning against a dresser some distance away catching his attention. He dared not question the King though, listening intently.

'Long journey?' Why did he have to prepare for a long journey?

"Yes." King Rinon answered his unasked questions, reaching out a hand to lightly touch Reqiel's splayed out pale gold hair before turning around swiftly to face him. "A journey to earth."

Sarell couldn't hold back his small gasp at this, glancing at Reqiel before looking back up at the King. "Yes, Your Majesty." He accepted without protest, it wasn't his place to make a contribution.

Reqiel had been half asleep but when Velia's unmistakable voice ordered for the attendants to leave, he was pulled out of sleep, choosing to keep his eyes closed for reasons even he couldn't understand.

Then he heard his father say something about a journey, it made him wonder about what kind of journey it could be. Perhaps the King wanted to send him off to a different city for fear of a repeat of his attack, Reqiel might have disagreed if that were the case but the King's next words quickly shut that thought down.

Earth! Was he really going to earth?
