Chương 83: Chapter 83

Wham!! Boom!!

The clash of scales and the fury of fire filled the air as the battle between me and the green dragon raged on. In this tree labyrinth floor, our destinies collided as we faced off against each other. We were two mighty creatures, but while I was real, born out of flesh and blood, the green dragon was nothing more than a creation of this treacherous dungeon.

With each thunderous step, I could feel the ground shake beneath me, resonating with the primal energy that fuelled my every move. Adrenaline coursed through my veins as I locked eyes with the green dragon, its scales shimmering with a sickly glow. In this moment, there was no fear, no hesitation - only a burning determination to emerge victorious.

The clash of our claws and the clash of our magic sent shockwaves through the air, rippling with the force of our unyielding power. The walls of the dungeon trembled as I unleashed an onslaught of fury, my wings beating furiously against the stagnant air. With every swipe, every lunge, I could feel my battle trance intensify, pushing me to push my limits beyond what I thought possible.

But the green dragon proved to be a formidable foe, its movements swift and calculated. It countered my blows with an agility that belied its monstrous size, a reminder that this dungeon was its domain. Fire erupted from its jaws, inching closer to my own face as I narrowly dodged its flaming breath. The searing heat grazed my scales, a stark reminder of the peril that lurked in every moment.

As the battle wore on, the intense Suffix of our clash reverberated through the confines of the dungeon floor. Roars and screeches echoed amidst the chaos, mingling with the crackle of flames and the thud of impact. The very essence of the environment seemed to pulse with the weight of our struggle, as if the dungeon itself had taken a life of its own to witness this clash of wills.

*Crashing sounds*

"Quick sand!" I bellowed as my spell activated, the dungeon stone crumbling to dust under its force. The battle had escalated to a point where I couldn't worry about the damage to the dungeon floor anymore. There was no time for that, and I was caught up in the adrenaline of the fight.

"Tornado!" I yelled, activating another spell within the quick sand.

"Spell combo: Sandstorm!" A powerful spell combination was unleashed, engulfing us in a ferocious sandstorm. Most of my spells had been ineffective during this battle, only the ones that required a longer channeling time were proving useful. Time was not on my side in this fast-paced conflict.

*Rumbling roar!*

The green dragon roared in frustration as it lost sight of me, the sand invading its every opening. In retaliation, it spewed streams of fire randomly, trying to find me within the sandstorm.

"Tsk, doesn't this monster ever give up?" I muttered to myself. Using the sandstorm as cover, I made my move, aiming for the leg joints of the green dragon and incapacitating it.

Then, I ascended above, preparing to channel the flame conflagration spell that had been effective against the Goliath. It wouldn't have the same level of impact because of the green dragons scales, but it would still pack a punch.

"If only I had lightning magic or something," I thought, wishful for some additional firepower, before unleashing my spell.

*Boom!*

The impact of the spell echoed through the air as the dragon roared in agony. This was my chance to deal a critical blow. Fortunately, the green dragon lacked wings, forcing it to jump in order to keep up with me. This drained its stamina at a rapid pace.

*Fwoosh!*

Using a boost from my wind magic, I dove towards the green dragon's neck, aiming for the spot where my spell had blackened the scales. It wasn't hard to find.

*Splurt!*

My claws pierced its neck, but the green dragon fought back fiercely. It quickly recovered from its disorientation, slamming its head, with me clinging on, towards the ground.

Acting quickly, I withdrew my claws from its neck and distanced myself, not willing to repeat the mistake I made with the Goliath. The wound wasn't deep enough but it was bleeding profusely.

Creating some distance between us, I chugged the last of my potions. I just needed to push a little bit more, and the green dragon would meet its demise.

Sounds of intense battle filled the air as our fight was reaching its climax. The stakes were high, and every move was crucial.

*heavy breathing*

I gritted my teeth, determination coursing through my veins. Victory was within reach, and I wasn't going to let this lesser dragon best me.

The battle against the green dragon had reached its peak, and I was giving it everything I've got. The fight would not end until one of us falls.

*SFX of roaring, fire, and spellcasting*

With each strike, each dodge, and each spell unleashed, the battlefield transformed into a chaotic symphony of power and destruction.

*SFX of impact, energy crackling*

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the green dragon started weakening. Its movements became sluggish, and its roars of defiance turned into cries of agony, but so was I.

My body was battered and bruised with the only thing keeping the pain away being my adrenaline from the battle high.

I was certain that I had my bones broken in various places and my scales were falling off. I needed just one decisive blow to end it all but couldn't muster the power to do so. I could only trade weakened blows and evade until….

*Final strike*

Amidst the chaos, an unexpected surge of power welled within me. Ancient energy surged through my veins, empowering me with an otherworldly strength.

With a mighty roar that shook the very foundations of the dungeon at least that's how it felt, I charged forward, my black scales illuminating with a fiery red light. The green dragon faltered, its ferocity wavering in the face of my newfound power.

In a final, glorious burst, I unleashed a devastating blow on the green dragon, sending it crashing to the ground with an earth-shattering thud. Soon the green dragon succumbed to its wounds and turned to dust letting out one final growl of defiance.

*Silence*

Silence is all that filled the area until the dungeon rumbled, as if acknowledging my triumph. Well it was either that or a juggernaut was spawning but I decided to stay positive.

The battle trance lifted, and in that moment of overwhelming victory, I couldn't help but feel a trace of compassion for the defeated creature. But in this dungeon, only the strongest could survive, and I had emerged victorious.

As the dust settled and the echoes of battle faded away, I stood victorious, gasping for breath. The intense battle had tested my limits, pushing me to new heights of strength and resilience. The dungeon would only get tougher the deeper I go but also granted an opportunity for strength to the worthy.

I had many questions that needed answers 'what that last burst of power was ?', 'what exactly was that green dragon?' but now I needed to return to the Astraea familia members and rest my wary body. I couldn't afford to handle another monster in my vulnerable state.

*Clang*

*Swoosh*

The sound of battle entered my ears as I got closer to the direction of the treasure tree. It was the Astraea familia members battling.

A/N Was the battle Wow, Meh or too drawn out.
