[Alexander's POV]
As I fought my own body to get it to stand, I noticed something. Outside the gas, between the ninjas, was a shadow. A shadow holding a gun.
Instantly understanding who it was, I suddenly felt the grasp of death tighten on me. Not because the gun was aimed at me, but because it was aimed at Hanzo. If I didn't kill Hanzo, then I would die.
My despair and imminent death spurred the Dark Side of the Force as I did not even move my hand myself. Instead, it followed the Force as I used Force Push on Chris.
The moment I did, his shadowy form once again turned human as he was sent flying back. The Jonins, whom he had managed to sneak past, were surprised by his sudden appearance, but true to their reputation, they reacted in an instant.
I didn't feel angry as I watched them drive their swords through Chris' body. As I heard the beep from my watch, I only felt sad.
I liked Chris. After all, despite his shortcomings, he was one of my oldest teammates, as he had been there since the very beginning. It might sound dumb, since this was only our third mission, but with the kind of environment we were forced to live in, bounds were easier to create.
However, as much as I liked him, I valued my own life more.
Speaking of which…
Hanzo's short paralysis seemed to have passed as he got back to his feet, and grabbed his scythe, before walking over to me.
He was no longer emitting the deadly poison, but it was still within me, and I couldn't move. I watched as he rested his blade against my throat, and asked with a shocked face, "Others may not have noticed, but I did… why would you save me?"
Even if I wanted to, I was unable to reply. I had completely lost control over my body. My instincts were screaming at me to move, but I couldn't. My brain sent signal after signal that if I didn't do anything, I would die.
I tried. But I couldn't.
Hanzo looked down at me silently, before muttering, "No matter."
He raised his blade, before bringing it down. This time, there wasn't anyone to save me. Time seemed to slow down as I entered into a communion with the Force.
Was the Force trying to accept me as a Force Ghost? Had it judged my death to be inevitable?
FUCK YOU!
Abandoned by my own powers, I suddenly felt a strange sensation. I was already in the unlocked mode, and yet I felt like I had just broken the Genetic Constraint.
My body, which no longer responded to me, suddenly felt like it was filled with strength. I felt control like never before over it, to the point it didn't feel human.
I couldn't just control my movements, I could control the function of my every organs, except for my brain. If I wanted to make my heart stop beating, I could.
I could feel all my injuries clearer than ever before, I could feel the injury on my lung. I could feel it was in the process of collapsing.
I raised my left arm, and the muscles all over my arm suddenly bulged as I moved faster than I thought possible, and grabbed the blade of Hanzo's kusarigama.
Of all my armor, only the Fists of Randagulf were still intact, and they still didn't fail me as I managed to grab his blade, and stop it in place.
Hanzo looked at me in shock, and tried to retreat. The muscles in my left arm shrunk, only for those in the right to bulge as I sent my fist hurling towards Hanzo's chest.
He tried to use the iron weight from his weapon to stop me, but I punched it to pieces, before driving my fist through his chest.
The world seemed to come to a stop as I raised myself to my feet, looking down at Hanzo's face as I had my arm through his chest, right where his heart was supposed to be.
Hanzo looked at me with wide eyes, blood trickling down his nose and his mouth. He coughed a mouthful of blood on my chest, before cursing, "Go to hell-"
[You have eliminated Hanzo of the Salamander. Rewarded Rank BB Reward and 18000 Points.]
I didn't really get to rejoice about this however as I felt the very ground beneath me shift, as if it was made of thousands of slugs as they tried to climb my legs.
These weren't slugs however, but explosive tags.
Making a split second decision, I let go of Hanzo's body while grabbing his weapon as the muscles in my legs bulked up, and I jumped as high as I could.
I easily jumped over ten meters, but I hadn't been fast enough as some of the explosive tags had stuck to my legs. There were at least a dozen of them, and I didn't like my chances.
So, using the kusarigama… I cut off my own legs.
The pain of losing a limb was terrible, let alone two, but as the explosive tags below exploded, I used my temporary control over my muscles to do two things as I was sent flying even higher by the explosion.
First, I ejected all the poison within me through my cut legs. And once this was done, I forcefully closed the wounds, Netero-style.
Because of how high I had been, the landing was rough.
However, after I landed, as I looked around, I noticed that the Root members had already left, while Hanzo's men were either dead or kneeling.
We… had won.
As the realization settled, whatever I had unlocked once again locked itself as I felt a pain unlike any before.
If the pain from unlocking the Genetic Constraint was a 9/10, then this was a 15, because I had no idea a human could feel this kind of pain.
Every muscle in my body, and I mean every, so that includes my heart, spasmed, sending jolts of pain through my very soul as I couldn't even groan in pain.
---
I woke up still in pain, and not within God's dimension. Instead, I was within a room, surrounded by medics. I saw them scatter around as I woke up, but I ignored them as I struggled to raise my arm.
00:00:07:12
Seven minutes and twelve seconds until the end of the mission… My vitality was at rock bottom, I was dying. However, I should be able to last a few more minutes…
So I survived.
A smile broke out on my face, before I coughed a mouthful of blood.
At the same time, the Ame Orphans suddenly ran into the room. They all looked quite roughed up, but there were no missing limbs, although they looked sad.
Nagato clenched his fists as he stood next to me, his voice sobbing, "Thank you, Alexander. Thanks to you, the Land of Rain is finally freed. We will build a memorial to you, so no one ever forgets about your deeds."
I froze, before I felt anger rise within me as I growled, "That's the second time you try to push me in my grave boy!"
Nagato released a sad sob, followed by his two companions. I felt my anger disappear as I realized, they were quite emotional for ninjas.
Dismissing them, I groaned, "I have a way to recover… I need you to get those medics back in, and have them keep me alive for five more minutes. And when I tell them to leave, they leave, alright?"
The three looked at me strangely, but within their gaze was a trace of hope. They looked at each other, and after a strong nod, called the medics back in.
As the medics came back in and used their healing Jutsus on me, I kept an eye on my watch, and when only thirty seconds were left, I ordered, "Alright, get out of here."
The two looked as confused as the Ame Orphans, but they had received their orders, so they nodded, and left, closing the door behind them.
Then, the counter reached zero, and I left my third mission.
