Issei sat alone on the rooftop during his lunch break, his mind consumed by thoughts of his upcoming encounter with Serafall. 'Is it even considered a date? She's a bit unconventional, and I'm not sure if she grasps the concept of romance. Maybe it's just a casual outing to watch a cheesy magical girl movie. Afterwards, she'll say some typical girly things, and we'll part ways. Why did I give her my email? Sure, she's attractive and kind of cool, but is she really girlfriend material? And even if she is, do I want to involve her in all this devil and angel chaos?'
Interrupting his thoughts, a powerful blow suddenly landed on his face, snapping him back to reality. Startled, Issei quickly got up, finding Tiamat standing before him with a wicked grin.
"I just punched you again. What are you going to do about it?" she taunted.
As Issei scanned the area, he noticed the absence of Vali, expecting him to be present as well. Tiamat, amused by his search, explained, "Vali's not here to protect you, Issei. It's just you and me now. Let's settle our dispute once and for all."
"What's your problem?" Issei snapped, his anger mounting.
"You're the one who initiated this. Acting like you can take me on. Prove it, tough guy," she hissed, launching a swift jab towards him.
Using his enhanced reflexes, Issei skillfully evaded her attack and effortlessly dodged her subsequent strikes with agile movements.
"Stop dancing around me, you coward! Fight me, Issei!" Tiamat growled, lunging at him with full force.
Reacting quickly, Issei caught her mid-tackle and swiftly slammed her onto the ground. He cracked his knuckles and neck, preparing for what came next as Tiamat rose up aggressively.
Excitement gleamed in Tiamat's eyes as Issei retaliated, "Finally, you've got some guts! I thought you were too scared to lay a finger on a girl."
Swiftly seizing the opportunity, Issei gripped her throat tightly and pinned her to the ground. Tiamat's surprise at his strength quickly turned into satisfaction.
Without struggling against his hold, she looked up at him from her position, "You're stronger in this form than I anticipated... impressive."
Growling with intensity, Issei warned her, "If you're trying to provoke me, you're doing a damn good job."
A mischievous grin adorned Tiamat's face, "Oh, I'm certainly trying. How about you drop the act of being a nobody and reveal your true strength?"
Annoyed, Issei released his grip and stood up, his anger evident. Tiamat watched him eagerly as his body briefly emitted a red glow. His eyes dilated and transformed into a striking golden green color. Within moments, two additional red wings emerged from his back, distinct from his sacred gear's wings. His nails sharpened into claws, and fangs appeared in his mouth.
Tiamat's grin widened as she witnessed his transformation, "An incredible aura... I'm amazed that you've been able to conceal this power all along, and even more surprised that you would."
Issei locked eyes with her, his gaze filled with determination, "Does this satisfy your curiosity?"
"For now, I suppose. I won't make you fight me here at school. Perhaps another time," Tiamat responded calmly.
Without hesitation, Issei swiftly returned to his normal form and concealed his aura once more, relieved that he had kept his power heavily suppressed during the display. Had he unleashed his full strength, it would have alerted every devil and angel within the city limits.
The glimpses he had shown were enough to appease Tiamat's eagerness. She approached him closely after he reverted to normal, teasing, "I'd show you mine, but I wouldn't want to cause a devil invasion in response."
Issei raised an eyebrow, his tone laced with sarcasm, "Well, that's truly disappointing."
Tiamat grinned mischievously and replied, "But I can offer you something."
Curiously, Issei asked, "What would that be?"
Without warning, Tiamat leaned in closely, causing Issei to wonder if she was about to kiss him. He couldn't believe his eyes.
To his surprise, Tiamat grabbed his face and pried open his mouth, breathing a gentle stream of blue flames down his throat.
Perplexed, Issei stared at her, trying to make sense of what she had just done. Tiamat, however, pulled back with a wicked smile and calmly said, "Consider that my way of apologizing for my aggression, Issei."
Confused, Issei questioned, "What was that supposed to be?"
"Oh? You truly have no idea? Hahaha, that's quite amusing...are you certain you're a dragon?" she chuckled, reveling in his bewilderment.
Issei shot her a sharp glance before rolling his eyes, dismissing her comment, "Whatever, it doesn't matter to me."
"Let me know when you figure it out, and we can continue from there," she giggled playfully, thoroughly enjoying his ignorance.
'What did she just do to me, Ddraig? Can you explain?' Issei reached out to his partner, seeking clarification.
After a momentary silence, Ddraig finally responded, 'It was nothing significant...she's simply attempting to provoke you once more. Don't let it bother you.'
Resuming his seat, Issei resumed his lunch, ignoring Tiamat's presence. Shortly after, Tiamat joined him, sighing, "Vali has some family meeting to attend. Fortunately, I didn't have to go this time."
"Her family? Are they also affiliated with the Khaos Brigade?" Issei inquired.
Tiamat shrugged, "Yes, some of them are, I believe. Many members of the Old Satan Faction are aligned with the Khaos Brigade."
Curiosity piqued, Issei questioned, "Why is that? On that note, why did you choose to align yourself with devils? Aren't Dragon Kings supposed to be immensely powerful beings?"
"Let me clarify, Issei. While the Five Great Dragon Kings are indeed formidable, we are not invincible. A high-class Satan devil can still pose a significant challenge to a Dragon King, and the underworld houses many powerful devils. I prefer to maintain a cordial relationship with them, if only to avoid being sealed away or targeted by sacred gears. Sadly, many of our kind have suffered such fates. With our dwindling numbers, it is crucial for me to exercise caution and preserve our species," Tiamat explained with a sigh.
