CHAPTER XV: SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

MISSION 2 PENDING
START OF SKIP
Suddenly big red bold letters came to obscure my vision. Just like before it gave me 2 options. Almost immediately I thought of 'SKIP' like I did earlier.
Suddenly I felt a heavy pressure around me. For a moment everything went dark. Next moment I found myself in a white room.
When I look up I see a man in a chair opposite me. Infront of him is a desk with a monitor on it, plus a mouse and keyboard. Cords extending to a hole on the desk behind the monitor. There's some paperwork scattered about on the desk.
"Have a sit Eto." The man said.
He pointed to a chair infront of me. Well more like a sofa actually.
"I will be with you momentarily." He added.
He returned to doing God knows what on the PC. I proceeded to sit on the chair and simply wait.
Obviously this had something to do with skipping the mission request again. My heart started racing as I realised I might have just made a huge ass mistake by skipping again.
In my defence you cannot just expect me to fuck a chick I barely know. The only times I've ever had one night stands was in night clubs. You can't expect me to just go up to her and say 'Hey! Let's bang!' That's just idiotic, I think.
A few minutes pass by as I nervously wait for the dude to finish his work.
"Good evening Eto!" He began as he turned to me. "My name is Kyle Davidson and I am your system administrator. Can I assume you already know why you're here?" He continued.
"I'm guessing it's about skipping the mission again?" I answer.
For a moment he smiled at me. Gay dudes make feel uncomfortable to be around. What reason do you have for flashing a dazzling smile at me? I love boobs okay! I am not into men. I don't even know how to speak to them dudes. If it's a manly gay we can hang bro but if you're dressing all weird and acting like a stereotypical gay, just stay away.
I realise that might seem close minded to some people but it's how I was raised. Before I started secondary school I was even more close minded about that but I had to evolve a bit. I realised that some guys who I was sure were straight turned out to be gay. The opposite for guys who acted like stereotypical gays. It simply makes me feel uncomfortable to be around okay? I don't have a problem if you're gay but please... respect my space as well.
[Author's Note: This I'm afraid is common from where I grew up. There is still bias against gay guys in my country. Not gay women but men. I wrote Eto as such for him to evolve more in the future. This is a work of fiction and doesn't represent how I see gay people but have observed in neighbourhoods all around where I grew up.]
"That's correct. So why did you skip the mission!?" He asked.
"Because I can't do it yet!" I answer honestly.
"I see..."
He suddenly turns to the monitor and types something. He again turns to me.
"Why can't you do it yet!?' He asked.
Well that's a stupid question. In fact let me say it to his face.
"Well that's a stupid question! How can I simply walk up to a woman I don't even know and demand sex from her! Even if and that's a big if, I could muster up the courage to do that, I'm 98% sure she'd reject me and that means I fail the mission which I'm guessing is a good idea to avoid!" I tear into him.
He suddenly starts rubbing his chin as if in thought. Pondering something. He returned to the PC and viciously types away. After a few moments he turns back to me.
"So here's the deal Eto!" He begins and stands up. Walking around the desk to stand infront of me.
He's a tall lean man with a handsome face. Great brown hair too. He wears a black suit with a white shirt and a red tie. If he was bold he'd look like Agent 47. I do fucking miss playing that game.
"The Almighty didn't give you the rules and explanations so I will!" He said.
"Over the next few years, depends all on you! You will receive 100 missions from the system! 50 of the missions will be based on your needs, wants and desires. Even the ones you are not aware of!
Of the remaining 50, 40 will be random missions from killing the Goblin Chief to finding a treasure! Almost anything and that includes killing a lover or an ally! It will be difficult to distinguish between the two types.
The remaining 10 missions are special! This missions are not send by the system but will be handed to you by me. They are decided by the gods and are mostly to shake up the entire status quo around you! Every 10th mission will be a special mission! Meaning mission 10, 20, 30 and so on!
As for the for the special skipping rules, you only get 2 skips per mission. Remember that this is a special privilege you've been given, this is not a right. The third skip will literary mean your end. Wherever you may be you will die if you skip a third time. There will not be any second chances after that.
There's also a special privilege you get. I will give you three tickets. If you cash in this tickets you can change a mission you don't like or can't because of morality. Once the time comes you just call my name out loud and I will bring you here.
For example if you give me a ticket for you current mission 2 I will enter the information into the computer and you will get a new mission 2. Once you have changed a mission you can't change it again. This tickets cannot be used on any of the 'special missions'."
He proceeded to reach into his pocket and hand me three lottery tickets. Well they looked like lottery tickets to me.
"Remember, you only get 3 and you still have 99 missions to go before... well the Almighty will tell you what you get after the 100th mission. Just know that the last guy to do it became the Almighty himself. That was 10 million years ago. Not a single person has completed a third of the missions since then. They all get overwhelmed or something much worse. Good luck Eto of Shapan!:
