Chương 25: GOOD FRIENDS

Erika was so speechless that the only thing she could do was stare back at him with her mouth wide open. Years ago?

'Did this guy experience love at first sight or what?' She wondered.

She cleared her throat and said softly, "Ethan, I appreciate the fact that you love me, but im sorry I can't reciprocate the feelings you have for me." Ethan was a very attractive man and any woman would kill to have him, but Erika just got out of a broken marriage and being in a relationship now is scary to her.

Yes, she admires Ethan's handsome look but it wasn't enough to turn into love.

Ethan, on the other hand was a little heartbroken but he won't give up just like that. She likes him already, he can see it. All he needs to do was to turn the like to love.

"Ethan, are you okay?" Erika asked when she saw him staring blankly at nothing. "I'm really sorry but we are good friends, right? I hope this won't hinder our good friendship?" Erika thought that he was sad because she rejected him.

It was half true but he was also thinking of ways to win her totally.

"No, of course not. I totally understand where you are coming from. I mean, you are afraid that I might change like Adrain but I won't." He looked at her deep in the eyes and said, "Erika, I promise you this, I will do everything I can to win you over. I love you and that is never going to change."

Erika could only bite her lower lip and muttered, "Thank you."

Ethan confirmed that Erika must have feelings for me. Just that she wasn't sure about it because if it was another female now, they would have excused themselves and left immediately. But she was calm and even smiled at him.

The both of them continued chatting like normal friends and dispersed the uncomfortable atmosphere. They ate cheerfully with Ethan teasing her now and then.

He became cheesy now that he had confessed his feelings for her and Erika would just laugh at him because that cheesy nature did not suit him at all. And in no time, they cleared all the food on the table or Erika cleared most of the food on the table.

"Are you the one who made all these dishes", she couldn't help but ask because they were all so delicious.

"Finally, you noticed," he pouted like a child whose sweet candy was taken away from him.

Erika was shocked with this newfound expression on his face and quickly took a pic of him.

"Hey! What are you doing?" He tried snatching the phone from her.

"I'm sorry, Mr Anderson but I can't help but take this cute pic of you. I mean look at you," she showed him the picture on her phone and he must admit, she did take a good angle of the picture.

"I really look cute!!!" He blurted.

"That is what I am saying," she saved the picture and stored her phone back in her purse.

They checked the time and it was almost midnight. Wow!! Time really flies fast when you are enjoying yourself. Ethan thought. He wanted to spend some more time with Erika but then she yawned indicating that she was tired.

He brought her to the car and started feeling thankful that he didn't involve alcohol to be part of their drinks so else..... this night might have turned into chaos. He got in too and drove back to her mansion.

Someone took a picture of them. It was none other than Jasmine. She followed Ethan discreetly with different cars every day so that he wouldn't suspect anything, and her instincts were right. Ethan has been seeing another woman behind her back. She totally forgot that he was never in a relationship with her to begin with.

She looked at the picture she took and her anger flared. How dare this woman try to snatch Ethan away from her? She didn't wait any second and called someone quickly.

"Hello?..... Yes, it's me. I would like you to do something for me. I am going to send you the picture. What?.... no, just the lady. Do it carefully and I will reward you perfectly. Yes, I will send the advance payment now. Listen, I want to wake up tomorrow with good news, do you hear me? Perfect!"

Jasmine smirked triumphantly. "Oh woman, whoever you are, you are never going to like ever being involved with my man," she said as she laughed maniacally.

Ethan dropped Erika at the doorstep of the mansion. "Thanks for the wonderful night Erika," he said giving her a boyish smile.

"No, thank you for the wonderful night, Ethan," she replied.

"Haha.... well good night, sleep tight, and don't forget to dream about me," he said but his straight face gave him away indicating that he was not quite good in that field.

"I will see if it's impossible, good night," and she walked inside the mansion. She didn't want to think too much about the confession so she went straight to bed after changing.

Well, tomorrow is going to be another day, she says. Not knowing that someone has only planned an attack on her.
