Chương 8: Rabbit Hunt (2)
A couple hours later, Enzo was still laying in bed waiting for his parents to fall asleep. While waiting he was planning what to do if he was able to enter the forest.
Enzo tried to listen to any sound that indicates that his parents were asleep, but to his surprise he heard nothing, not even the sound of breathing.
This was the first time that Enzo tried to stay awake after his mother put him to sleep. He never thought about staying awake because in this world there weren't any mobile phones, no wifi, no Tv. Nothing can be done at night without his parents noticing that he is awake. He can't even read because the light is so dim that he won't be able to see any words.
The system also doesn't help. Whenever he asks something, he's always met with symbols indicating that he's still too weak.
'I'm gonna take the risk. I have been lying down for what seems like hours and I still can't hear if they are asleep or not. Any more lying down like this and I won't be able to stay awake any longer'
Enzo went down from the bed with difficulty. Enzo was still a five year old kid that still couldn't climb the bed on his own; his mother would always pick him up and tuck him in his bed.
The fact that he didn't want to make any noise whatsoever. He didn't want to wake his parents up, if they are even asleep. That also destroyed the option of jumping down from the bed.
Upon reaching the ground safely after tedious effort, he started making his way to the door of his room.
His mother always kept the door to Enzo's room open as she was afraid that Enzo might be scared or needed something from her in the middle of the night and won't be able to as he couldn't reach the door handle.
When Enzo arrived at the door to his house, he pushed the door to see if his mother closed it or forgot like she usually does. To his luck she kept the door unlocked which made his mission easier.
Stepping out of the door Enzo started making his way to the forest. The forest wasn't too far from the village nor too near, it was away from the inhabitants of the village by less than a Km.
Enzo started making his way to the forest.
"Should we catch him red handed?"
"No, let's leave him be. Remember we want him to grow up well, we want him to be brave. We will watch him from a close distance and we will stay hidden until we see anything that he won't be able to deal with."
Celine and Victor were watching Enzo sneaking out and being secretive. They noticed that their child was acting weird all day so they decided they will see what he's planning.
Enzo arrived at the forest. He didn't start looking for the Red Horned Rabbit right away. Like an experienced adventurer or better said, like an experienced reader of adventure. He started scouting the surroundings to see what could help him, how he can catch the Rabbit faster and if things get dire, how he will escape.
While Enzo was laying on his bed waiting for his parents to sleep, he decided to plan out what he would do to hunt the rabbit.
His plan went like this; Firstly, sneak out from the house, Secondly, scout the forest and it's surroundings, thirdly, hunt the rabbitc and lastly return home without making a sound.
He completed the first part of the plan with little to no difficulty. He was now on the second part, which was the most crucial part of his plan.
If he doesn't complete this part well or makes a big mistake, it might cost him his life. If he for example looked at a rout and determined that it can be his escape route without actually checking it himself by going back and forth a couple of times. He might end up running into the territory of a wild animal or the ground might not be solid which will cause him to fall and possibly die.
"What do you think he's looking for? He never went to this forest so he couldn't possibly have lost anything there. I also never lost something of his there and I'm sure of that....I believe.....I dunno~~hehehe"
*sigh*
"He's not looking for something, he's scouting. I don't know for what, but that's what it looks like. It seems that he has no experience in doing, he just looks like someone who just read about it alot. How did you get to your level without even being able to determine that. He your own son Cel--- my lovely wife"
Victor was saying everything with a semi angry tone, but when he noticed the blue eyes of his wife glaring at him and her silver hair was spiked up like she was about to power up to fight Victor.
"WHAT did you say my dear? Can you REPEAT it again because I couldn't hear you well, there was a bug flying around, don't worry I squashed it, so continue what you were saying.....my dear."
"I didn't say anything of importance. I was just admiring how beautiful and clever my wife is."
In fact, Celine could see that he was scouting, but she didn't want to point it out. She wanted her husband to correct her and explain to her in a loving way. She loved to be pampered by her husband very much.
Returnint to Enzo. He was still scouting the area, he determined that he won't start hunting today, but he will take his time to gather as much information about the terrain, where they live, what they eat, what they like to do.....etc.
Enzo was a careful person, he didn't know why he was like that, even in his previous life, he made a backup plan for the backup plan of the backup plan to the main plan.
He didn't want to fail, or at the very least he didn't want to lose everything just because something didn't go well.
He then noticed that the sun was about to come up and he then started heading home.
