"Let's part ways, Heaven Liu."
Heaven felt her heart sink as her breath hitched upon hearing that sentence. She wanted to deny it and tell herself her ears were playing tricks on her. But alas, the papers that she was staring at that had the words divorce papers on them hindered her from doing so.
"No," she whispered, prompting her elbows on the mattress to sit up. When she faced him squarely, she shook her head and repeated, "No."
"Why?"
"Why?" she repeated with a scoff, running her tongue across her inner cheek. "Do you really don't know, you jerk?"
Heaven bit her inner bottom lip, holding back the tears that were tempting to stream down her cheeks once again. Just when she thought she no longer had tears to shed, they were back to fill her eyes again.
"Dominic Zhu," she called under her breath, tearing the first page slowly. "You're not parting ways with me. You are stuck with me forever. Blame your fate that a plague got in your life."
