Since they decided on staying in the Desert City, they had to first find a place where they could learn more about it.
They knew that asking the people from the house wouldn't help since they were too scared to come out.
Shin and the others decided to find a hotel that allows them to stay.
Fortunately, the hotels of the Desert City were quite open. They allow anyone to enter.
It's just that the more they got closer to the middle of the city, the more people they saw.
"Something doesn't feel right!"
When Shin saw those people, he immediately read through their emotions and spoke.
"Indeed! They do not look like citizens of the city but rather bandits." John nodded his head and agreed with Shin's point of view.
On the other hand, Barry and Hina didn't say anything. They were simply waiting for Shin's order.
Shin noticed them but instead of moving toward them, he led his group toward a hotel.
This hotel had three floors and on the top floor, there was a massive board that showed its name.
'Sunset Hotel'
The door was opened so they directly walked inside. When they did, Shin noticed the change in the expression of those bandits.
The gaze of the predator looking at its prey.
Although those gazes were frightening for normal people, Shin didn't feel anything. He simply walked inside the hotel with his team while asking them to make any move right now.
He wanted to assess the entire situation before making any move.
While they went in, the bandits outside started discussing with each other.
"Hey, do you think they are bandits or pirates?"
"Does it matter? They are in our territory. Let's tell the leader!"
"Stop! Do you really need to bother our leader for such a small thing? Don't forget they have only four people."
"Then, should we go in?"
"Let's wait! They let gather more information and when they understand the situation that they can't stay here, they will definitely leave. After all, now we are the leader of this city, it's not good to destroy buildings here."
"I think we should still tell our leader. These people might be pirates."
These bandits didn't know Shin's strength so they immediately showed ferocious expression, wanting to kill Shin and his group to take all of their belongings.
But some of them were still cautious. If Shin and his group were bandits, they wouldn't be worried.
But if they were pirates, that would be a different case.
Bandits are normally people who stay in a single region for the rest of their life.
Pirates are people who roam around different regions and enter different Sacred Grounds.
Unlike bandits, pirates are much stronger because they constantly get into battle inside Sacred Ground.
So, these bandits despite being fearless were still cautious.
They didn't want to give their life for nothing. One of the bandits suddenly called another bandit and said.
"Go to that hotel and listen to their conversation! It doesn't matter if they find out or not."
Suddenly, another bandit spoke in displeasure.
"Does it even matter? If they truly want to fight, we will fight them. There is no need to gather information about them."
"Yeah, and they wouldn't be stupid enough to tell us their information, right?"
"I know but if they are really pirates, then we got no choice but to rely on our leader. So, we must know that in advance."
Hearing his words, those bandits calmed down and agreed to send one of them inside the hotel.
He walked inside the hotel. His arrival didn't make Shin and others worried. But, the hotel manager was extremely afraid of him.
He gave the signal to the hotel manager to act normal and sat somewhere closer to Shin and his team.
"So, manager, what exactly is going on in this city? There weren't a lot of people outside." Shin glanced at that bandit for a moment and then turned his eyes to the hotel manager.
The hotel manager didn't notice his gaze. He calmed down under that bandit's signal and explained.
"Because our City Lord has been changed, there were some changes in the rules. Except for that, nothing else has happened."
"Is that so? Then, can we stay here for a night? We plan to leave tomorrow morning."
Seeing that the manager had no intention of clearly explaining the trouble of the city, Shin decided to end the topic.
"Of course! How many rooms would you like to book?" The manager excitedly asked. He hadn't had a guest for days so he hadn't earned anything.
"Four!" Shin directly answered. Right now, it wasn't good to share a room with others since it could make some trouble with John.
Originally, he planned to book only two rooms, one for him and Hina and the other for Barry and John.
But, he didn't know John's intention so he was a bit afraid of placing Barry in the same room as John.
"Isn't it a waste to book four rooms at once? Why not book two?" Barry couldn't help but speak.
He knew that Hina and Shin had a relationship so they wouldn't have a problem sleeping in the same room while he could sleep with John.
"Barry, don't worry about money. Just relax!" Shin patted his shoulder and turned his head at the manager.
"So, can we book four rooms? And, please make it on the same floor."
"Yes, yes!"
The manager was extremely excited.
Four rooms at once!
Even during normal days, he would only get one or two rooms booked. Now, he was getting four rooms booked at once which naturally made him excited.
"Sir, would you like to add food as well?" The manager quickly saw a way to make more money so he excitedly asked.
"For dinner, yes! But, we will leave early in the morning so we will skip breakfast."
Shin answered.
"Sir, the current price is 100 Zel for each room and 25 Zel for dinner for each. That would be a total of 500 Zel." The manager quickly added the price and gave him the total problem.
Shin nodded his head and took out the money from his pocket. He took out fifty notes of 10 Zel and passed them to the manager.
The manager quickly counted the money and gave them the keys.
"Sir, your rooms are on the second floor. Your dinner will arrive at eight in the evening."
Shin took those keys and passed them to them while walking upstairs. After they went upstairs, the bandit walked in front of the hotel manager and a greedy smile appeared on his face.
"Yo boss, it seems like you have made a fortune. Why not share it with us?"
"Sir, please do not take this! I hadn't had any customers for two weeks. We do not have any food left to eat."
The hotel showed an ugly expression as he begged in front of the bandit.
"Of course, I won't take it. At least, I won't take all of it. Don't forget, who is the boss here? As for the food for them, you don't need to worry."
The bandit took the money from the hotel manager's hand. Although the hotel manager didn't want to give it to him, he had no choice.
At this moment, a flash of hatred emerged in his eyes. He waited for that bandit to leave until he rushed upstairs.
After that, he knocked on a random door. But, he didn't there. He continued knocking on the doors of others.
Clack! Clack! Clack! Clack!
Four of them opened the door and walked out of their room. When they saw the manager standing there, they were surprised.
"Sir, hurry up and leave this city! If you spend the night here, you will definitely die. The city is currently ruled by the bandit."
"Please, hurry up and leave! I am sorry about the money. They took it from me so I can't return it to you. But, you must leave as soon as possible."
The manager quickly rushed in front of Shin and started explaining. He even lowered his head and begged them to leave.
Seeing this, Shin understood the situation and patted his shoulder.
"Don't worry, calm down! Tell us the entire situation of the city. If possible, we can help you solve the problem of this city."
When he said that, the manager was extremely happy but suddenly, he remembered the boss of the bandit and immediately shook his head.
"Sir, you don't have any idea about their boss. Even if we fight against those bandits, we can never win against their boss."
"He is the one who reached the Fourth Floor in that Sacred Tower. Sir, if you don't leave right now, he will definitely kill you."
"The City Lord, those guards, everyone was killed. No one survived."
Hearing his words, Shin was surprised as he didn't expect the power who climbed the tower to be the bandit boss.
But, he wasn't worried. He simply patted the manager's shoulder and said.
"I know it's hard for you to imagine us winning against that guy. But, those who haven't seen the world are simply ignorant. Our goal is Sacred Ground."
"Since that guy has already gone inside a Sacred Ground and even got the power but only settled down to establish a bandit group, he shouldn't be that powerful."
"Even if that guy is powerful, so what? We will not lose to someone who is scared of entering the Sacred Ground."
