After talking to Laura, Dani took her leave and promptly returned to where she left Abel. She didn't want Abel to get suspicious of her movements; after all no one still knew about Laura's existence let alone about her being one of their spies before Mineah and Nikolai's wedding.
"These things could've been easily prevented if I had paid enough attention to Rosela," Abel drunkenly murmured the moment she sat back on her chair. "And personally…"
She hated that downcast look on him. 'Why is he blaming himself? Seriously. I can't believe this!' she annoyingly mused.
"Well, I doubt that would be the case, Chancellor," Dani cut him off as she grabbed the nearest bottle and began drinking herself. "I'm sure, Lady Rosela would've just managed to manipulate you the moment she got you under her palm. You're blindly in love with her, and she would've used that to her advantage."
