Ponis sighed and continued, "According to legend, the battle for Upper Yard will only end when the island sings its song once again. But no one knows when that will happen or what it even means."
Jack contemplated the island's song, his mind racing with possibilities, but he couldn't quite grasp its meaning. He was intrigued by the story, but there was another question on his mind. "How did the Skypieans manage to take the island from the locals in the first place?" he asked. "What kind of military force do you have here?"
Ponis hesitated for a moment before answering, "The Skypieans have always been led by a powerful ruler known as God. God's authority is absolute, and his will is enforced by his loyal priests."
Jack raised an eyebrow. "God? That's quite a title."
Ponis nodded. "Yes, it is. Our current God is Gan Fall, a benevolent ruler who seeks peace and unity between Skypieans and Shandia. However, it wasn't always like this. Previous rulers were cruel and tyrannical, only interested in maintaining their own power."
She continued, "Gan Fall is supported by his priests, who are responsible for maintaining order and protecting our people. They're incredibly skilled fighters, and they possess unique abilities granted by the mysterious Dials."
"Tell me more about these priests," Jack urged, his interest piqued.
Ponis thought for a moment, trying to recall the names and abilities of the current priests. "There's Priestess Alora, who specializes in manipulating wind. She can create powerful gusts and even control the movements of the air itself. Then there's Priest Kelvan, who's an expert in manipulating heat. His abilities can make the air around him boil or even create scorching flames."
"And finally, there's Priestess Saya, who has the power of illusion," Ponis added. "She can create intricate, lifelike illusions to deceive and confound her enemies. Together, they form a formidable force that keeps Skypiea safe and secure."
Jack listened intently, his eyes taking on a stormy hue as he considered the power wielded by God and his priests. It was clear to him that their abilities were far beyond the ordinary, and he couldn't help but wonder what other secrets this sky island held.
As they stood on the hill overlooking Upper Yard, Jack couldn't help but feel a sense of longing, a desire to explore the mysterious island and uncover its secrets. He turned to Ponis, his eyes a calm blue as he asked, "Is there any way I could go to Upper Yard?"
Ponis shook her head in sorrow, her eyes downcast. "No, Jack. Upper Yard is reserved for God alone. Ordinary Skypieans, despite yearning to feel the earth beneath their feet, are forbidden from setting foot on the island. Only God and his priests can live there."
Jack's eyes darkened, the calm blue replaced by a stormy hue, but he said nothing more on the matter. Instead, he decided it was time to introduce Ponis to his family. He led her to a secluded spot on the island, away from prying eyes, and activated the bead in his body that contained the Pocket Space where his family resided.
As the portal to the Pocket Space opened, Jack's family emerged one by one, their eyes filled with wonder as they took in the beauty of Skypiea. Jack introduced Ponis to each of them in turn, and she greeted them warmly, though she was initially shocked to learn that Jack had daughters. However, her feelings for Jack only seemed to deepen as she witnessed the tender, loving side he displayed with his family.
Upon meeting Aria, his five-year-old daughter, Jack scooped her up into his arms and held her close. "Princess," he murmured softly, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. Aria giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck, her face alight with happiness. "Daddy!" she exclaimed, her eyes shining with love.
Next was Amelia, Aria's mother, who greeted Jack with a knowing smile, understanding the depth of the bond between him and their daughter. Then came Robin, his two-year-old surrogate daughter, who was being carried by her mother, Olvia. Robin, still learning to speak, mimicked the excited greetings she heard from the others, her eyes wide with curiosity.
Jack continued the introductions, presenting Ponis to his mother, Liana; his sister, Luna; his childhood friend, Sophie, and her mother, Isabella; and finally, Titi, recently joined partner. Each greeted Ponis warmly, their faces reflecting the love and trust they held for Jack.
Aria, ever the adventurous, couldn't contain her excitement upon seeing the beautiful surroundings of Skypiea. She wriggled out of Jack's arms and began to run around, her laughter echoing through the air as she explored the new environment.
As Jack's family marveled at the beauty of the island, Titi couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy upon seeing how close Jack had become with Ponis in such a short amount of time. However, she quickly reminded herself that she too was once another beauty that had captured Jack's attention, and she chose to focus on her positive emotions for him instead.
Jack, his face calm as always, observed his family's reactions to Skypiea. His eyes, a calm blue, sparkled with an almost imperceptible warmth as he saw their joy and wonder.
Amelia approached Jack and Ponis with a gentle smile. "Thank you for welcoming us to your home, Ponis," she said sincerely. "It's truly a breathtaking place."
Ponis smiled back, her eyes bright. "You're all welcome here. I'm glad you could experience the beauty of Skypiea."
Meanwhile, Aria continued her exploration of the island, with Luna, Sophie, and Isabella keeping a close eye on her. They couldn't help but smile at her boundless enthusiasm and curiosity.
Olvia, carrying little Robin, approached Ponis and struck up a conversation. "This is such a fascinating place," she said, her eyes taking in the ethereal beauty of the island. "I never imagined such a place could exist."
Ponis nodded, a hint of pride in her voice. "Yes, Skypiea is truly unique. We're very lucky to call this place our home."
Robin, still learning to speak, parroted Olvia's words excitedly. "Fas...cinating!" she exclaimed, her eyes wide and sparkling with curiosity.
Jack's mother, Liana, joined the conversation, her eyes filled with appreciation. "Thank you for showing us around, Ponis. It's an honor to be here."
Ponis smiled warmly at Liana. "It's my pleasure. I'm glad to have the chance to share Skypiea with all of you."
Aria, having tired herself out from her exploration, eventually returned to Jack's side. He scooped her up into his arms once more, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. "Did you have fun, Princess?" he asked softly.
Aria beamed up at him, her face alight with happiness. "Yes, Daddy! It's so pretty here!" she exclaimed, her eyes shining with love.
Jack couldn't help but smile at his daughter's excitement, his eyes turning a tender, calm blue. "I'm glad you like it, Princess," he murmured, his voice filled with affection.
Titi, having swallowed her initial jealousy, approached Jack and Ponis. She smiled warmly at them, her eyes reflecting the love and trust she held for Jack. "I must admit, Skypiea is unlike any place I've ever seen," she said. "Thank you for welcoming us, Ponis."
Ponis returned her smile. "Of course, Titi. I'm glad you could be here with us."
