On June 6, 1267, inside a room, the sound of steel clashing with steel could be heard. However it was not a battle that was ensuing  , but a meal instead . Five men were seated at a table, engaged in a light meal as they conversed during the afternoon.

The table was long and elaborately decorated, with a pure white tablecloth, adorned with golden lines of fleur-de-lis and animals like cats and dogs, all repetitively decorated across the entire table. This elegant setting was the chosen location for Conradin and his closest courtiers to eat their meals, with the close attention to detail and imagery of strength and power reflecting the status and wealth of the royal court, that was  however  without stable location.
