Due to the sudden release of unfiltered phermones during the course of the hunt, Omegas were forced into a state of heat. For mated Omegas, the phermones of their Alpha acted as a pain repressant, whilst the unlucky few had to rely on medicines to get by.

'Kian!' Silas' voice rang in my head, he was worried, and so was I.

Having other wolves around during my heat was nothing but trouble. The phermones Omegas released during their heat aroused and attracted other wolves to them.

'We need our mate.' He charged, but I didn't need him, I had to manage and get through this on my own. Just like I always have.

"Ugh," I felt a twinge of pain shot through my right arm as I lengthed my nails to a considerable length.

'What are you…' As though Silas could already predict what I would do, he shrieked in horror when my sharpened nails dug deep into my wounded arm!

'Kian you don't need to do this!'
