"It doesn't matter among lycans. You can shift at any age."
"S-so, I can shift now?" My heart fluttered at the thought of shifting into a wolf.
This was so freaking wild! I was just wondering about becoming a lycan and for him to take me in his pack, and now it became a reality.
Oh gosh, did I just manifest this?
For years, I have dreamt of this moment, ached for it in the depths of my soul, and now that it was a possibility, I could not believe it.
"Yes, when you gain a command over your ability."
Words failed me, as my eyes welled over with unshed tears, and my throat choked up with incoherent noises that I swallowed down with difficulty.
I would rather chop my head off than to produce any sort of noises in front of him.
For so long, I have been shackled by my lack of wolf or any abilities, the pain I suffered, the misery they all put me through, the torture I survived. A mixture of awe and disbelief overwhelmed all my senses, as I slumped onto the bed, as far as him as I could, and stared the ground without blinking. My tears blurred my vision, and I took in deep breaths to calm myself down.
Just then, I recalled the vague and cryptic flashes of memory I saw before fainting.
"Is my ability related to future knowledge?" My voice cracked, and I cleared up my throat.
"That's what I think."
Never did I ever, in my wildest dreams, imagined having a casual conversation with this monstrous beast right here while sitting together on a bed.
Turning my head, I looked at him to see him staring at me with those deep red eyes.
"You think?"
Woah, I am on a roll today.
"Every lycan is different and varies from one another. One also might have more than one ability and power. It's up to you to find out what's yours."
The way he answered each and every question of mine surprised me. I didn't take him as someone so compliant.
Anyway, I had a new driving goal in my life.
Figure out my power, gain command over it, and be whole.
A sudden laugh escaped my mouth, the sound mingling with the rustle of leaves and the soft hush of the wind. It was a laugh of excitement, purpose, disbelief, and unbridled happiness, a melody that I longed to hear from my own lips. A melody I thought I would always be deprived of.
My heart swelled with immense gratitude for him.
"Thank you."
Smiling genuinely, I lifted my head, and my breath knocked out of my chest.
He was no longer beside me, but right in front of me, with his broad muscular arms on either side of me. My eyes widened as my heart started thumping wildly again, and I gulped, feeling the intensity of his stare behind his dark ruby eyes.
His wide chest hovered over me, his warm, minty breath softly caressing my face. All my organs stopped functions and my brain malfunctioned.
What is he trying to do? Kill me?
His tongue swiped over his lower lip, failing my heart for a second as my mouth fell open, and he brought one of his hand from my side to grab a strand of my hair and neared it towards his face.
KBFDEUOFHOEFJCJ. Please, at this rate, I would literally melt into a puddle.
"Don't thank me yet." Gone was his gentleman persona that obediently answered all my questions, and now in front of me was a wild beast that demanded my attention and answers.
His stare darkened, and face was filled with intense and undecipherable emotions, as the air around became thick with tension and anticipation.
Is it just me, or was that hot-
Ok, I am gonna stop.
"Why?" I dared to whisper breathlessly as I stared back into his dark eyes, not wanting to look away for even a second.
His eyes were intoxicating, and I wanted to let myself freely indulge in them.
Instead of answering this time, he dropped my hair, and with a ghastly touch, ran the back of his hand over my cheek, sending cold shivers down my spine.
"It's my turn to ask now."
