Her eyes began to pool with tears as she kept staring at that pair of desperate and vulnerable emerald eyes.

"Chloe, Vernon, I will have to return to my room now. I have something to talk to with him," Kate said. 

"No need. You two can talk here. We will wait outside," Vernon said. He grabbed the remote and turned off the home theater.
